Here's what you should be reading:
-A devsastating take-down of those that Lenin supposedly called "useful idiots". Academic apologist's have been whitewashing Soviet oppression for decades led by Katrina vanden Heuvel's rag The Nation.
-Abortion kills more African-American's than 7-leading causes of death for the general population. Margaret Sanger's eugenistic dream has become reality.
-American's feel pretty much like the est of the world about that Obama Nobel prize.
-Hmmmm. British nuke specialist dies in fall at UN building in Vienna. He was working on the Iranian situation.

It's a good day when the Yankees choke as they did last night. They had the chance to wrap it up after a nice come-back and gave up three to lose it. Sweet.

What If the Yankees Choked Again?
Sphere: Related ContentI work in North Jersey, which is populated by Mets and Yankees fans. They tend to switch based on who is doing better like they do with the Jets and Giants, but I digress.
Anyway, the Phillies took care of their business last night with a barrage of hits and homers and the Yankmee's are currently down 4-0 to the Angels. Here's a bit of what the eventual winner will have to deal with through the magic of self-made video that captures the sheer joy and love this area has for this team:
Now there is some precedent here as the Yankmee's were up 3-0 against the hated Sox and preceded to lie down. That could happen here. Yankmee's fans were strutting around today as if they had already won telling me they would smack the Phils. Get there first, scrubs.
The laughter from the Delaware Valley would be heard in the Bronx and the crying from Fox would be heard all the way up to Alaska.
I leave you with the fallout of that epic choke (NSFW-ish):
BTW, Fuck New York!

Wednesday Afternoon News & Notes
Sphere: Related ContentThe Phillies can hopefully put the Dodgers away tonight after breaking their hearts on Monday. Manny seems to have washed his hands of this series, as well as his arms, hair, back...
Here's what's news:
-Brit Hume smacks the hell out of the Obama Administration's war against Fox News:
-It's official: The umpiring in the MLB playoffs has been horrid.
-Countrywide fallout: Dems terrified about their shady deals with the loan company becoming public.
-Senator Reid get played again. You're an idiot, Harry, it's a wonder that you still know how to breathe. My apologies to Bob Dylan.
-Another war Obama can't keep from losing.
-Shocker! We won't be getting that TARP money back. Who could've seen that coming?
-Update: Media Matters idiot sets out to smear Hot Air writer and beclowns self by typing the following headline:
I'm don't think "quarantine" means what right-wing blogger Allah Pundit thinks it does
Evidently Eric Boehlert is a fine example of what our public schools have to offer. Even his own commenters are busting on him.

ACORN Caught in Another Lie
Sphere: Related ContentACORN said that James O'Keefe and Heather Giles were "kicked out" of the Philly ACORN office and the local media trumpeted that as proof that all of ACORN was not rotten. It turns out ACORN lied and the media allowed themselves to be duped (again and willfully):
The new eight-minute video depicts O'Keefe and Giles entering ACORN's Philadelphia office and meeting with Conway-Russell. O'Keefe and Giles are seen speaking with Conway-Russell, but audio portions of the video are missing or edited in some portions. O'Keefe is heard mentioning he doesn't "want to get in trouble with authorities," and he mentions individuals will be frequently coming in and out of the building they hoped to secure, an apparent reference to the purported prostitution business to operate there. Clips of news reports featuring Conway-Russell and ACORN's chief executive, Bertha Lewis, claiming the pair were kicked out of the office were then shown. The video is below:
Note that the brass at ACORN are shown in the video lying their asses off. The person they spoke to in the office was edited so as to not have her voice included due to legal reasons.
Breitbart claims there are more and that should just about spell the end of ACORN.
Media Matters--the hack website supported by hardcore liberals--is going to come out looking the worst. That makes me happy as hell.

Americas Trust in Obama Plummets
Sphere: Related ContentTen, count 'em ten different issues and The One has cratered in all:
WASHINGTON (CNN) – For the first time since he took over in the White House, Americans don't see eye to eye with President Barack Obama on the important issues, according to a new national poll. But the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey does indicate that a majority approve of how Obama's handling his duties as president. His personal numbers still are over 50% in most polls, which is odd given the country doesn't agree with the prez on, well, just about everything as this chart from Moe Lane shows:
According to the poll, which was released Tuesday, 48 percent of people questioned say that they agree with Obama on the issues that matter most to them, with 51 percent saying no. That's a switch from April, when 57 percent said they agreed with the president on important issues, with 41 percent disagreeing.

National security is down eight points, education is down eight points, abortion is down (?) and government ethics is at 29%. That's a tailspin and it all occurred in one single month.
He's essentially lost the majority of the nation on every single issue we care about and his dithering on Afghanistan will only add to the morass we're feeling. In short, things ain't looking good in Obamanation. I blame Bush of course (when does the statute of limitations run which the previous prez is blamed?).
Note this is a CNN poll so there's bound to be some bias but even the last-place network can't spin it and put lipstick on it. Imagine what the numbers would have been in this WaPo poll if they actually played it straight.

A Misplaced Sense of History
Sphere: Related ContentAs a candidate, President Barack Obama went to Berlin and reveled in the media glare afforded him by the European media. He gave a mediocre speech full of platitudes and hopeful rhetoric that a year and a few months later has proved an epic fail.
This year is the twentieth anniversary of the demolition of the wall; a moment that simultaneously freed half a nation and signalled the end of the single-most oppressive regime in the 20th Century. It was an affirmation of what thinking people had been saying for decades: that the Soviet Union in particular and communism as a whole were a black stain on the annals of history.
Obama can't seem to find time in his schedule to attend the celebration of this great event that was brought on by the policies of another American president a few years prior.
Sure, Obama can go to Copenhagen on a losing crusade for the Olympics but can't find the time to celebrate the greatest world moment of the second half of last century. Sad really.
Just to put it in perspective, here's Ronald Reagan single-handedly calling out the Soviets and a video showing the pure joy that was experienced once the symbol of Soviet communism was finally destroyed. Try to imagine Obama trying to be this forward-thinking...you can't.
More here.

Unintended Consequences
Sphere: Related ContentThe Obama administration has come out in their usual heavy-handed fashion against Fox News. Let's forget the simple fact that a free and open media is one of the pillars of our great nation and challenging those in power was their sole duty; it's unseemly that a sitting president with a 9.8% unemployment rate and soldiers dying daily in a war he supports aims his power at a privately-owned news company.
News Corp. owner Rupert Murdoch says that the attacks from the White House have increased viewers dramatically:
News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch said on Friday that White House criticism of commentators on his Fox News television channel had served to "tremendously" increase their ratings.
"There were some strong remarks coming out of the White House about one or two of the commentators on Fox News," Murdoch told the annual meeting of News Corp. shareholders here.
"And all I can tell you is that it's tremendously increased their ratings," he said.
Murdoch's remarks came after White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told The New York Times earlier this week that Fox News was "undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House."
I still find it humorous that the administration wheeled out a Maoist to lead the charge against Fox as a whole and Hannity and Glenn Beck in particular. The Obamatons are amateurs on all fronts.
Here's the story from Fox News:

Saturday Morning News & Notes
Sphere: Related ContentThe Phillies dropped a tough one last night when the always reliable Chase Utley couldn't make a throw on a crucial double play. Utley--in his typical style that endears him to Philly--said there was no excuse, he just made a bad throw. They won one and own home field advantage coming back home so it's all good.
Here's what's happening in the world:
-The communist side of the liberal spectrum is pissed at the socialist side and they are hissing and spitting like feral cats. I for one am enjoying it immensely as it precludes them from pushing their horrid agenda.
-Putting a dress on a pig: The WaPo puts a happy spin on an economy that is on life support:
Still, the figure represents a significant improvement over the darkest deficit projections, which had been as much as $400 billion higher earlier this year, when the economy was wallowing in recession. Since then, the outlook has brightened and a government bailout has successfully stabilized the nation's troubled financial sector. In a report released Friday, Treasury Department officials said the government had spent $132 billion less than expected in August, due primarily to a drop in anticipated spending on the banking bailout.
Er, exactly when was the nation's troubled financial sector "stabilized?"
-Obama threatens to destroy the insurance agency again. It's the "Chicago Way". An industry that has created millions of jobs and only reaps about 3% in profits is overtly being warned by a sitting president and a nation sits on its collective hands.
-California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa takes on the entrenched Democratic establishment.
-Newly minted Nobel Laureate allows our troops to die because he can't make the hard decisions required by the CinC. Obama said this was the right war and since his inauguration has done nothing but hamper the efforts of our brave men and women. They deserve more than that. These heroes and patriots, as well as those of other nations continue to die while their commander doesn't seem to care because dancing with Latina singers and berating the insurance industry is much more important than the lives of men like Specialist Justin Gallegos or the hundreds of others who've died while fighting against al-Qaeda.
-Local firefighter suspended for refusing to remove and American flag sticker from his locker. Can't have any jingoistic patriots in our midst in this new, improved Obamanation, can we?
I leave you with the always good Chip Bok:

A Crater Where a Robust Economy Once Stood
Sphere: Related ContentAs has become common practice for the Obama administration, the really bad news gets released on Fridays so it's essentially forgotten over the weekend. Of course, they know that if they release it during half-time of the Superbowl (TM) the media will ignore it so they are going to extremes.
Anyway, here's the feeble state of our economy:
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration said Friday that the federal budget deficit for the fiscal year that just ended was $1.4 trillion, nearly a trillion dollars greater than the year before and the largest shortfall relative to the size of the economy since 1945.10% of the economy? Three times what is generally considered healthy? This means nothing to those with liberal beliefs, they want to see the deficit somewhere north of 30% because it means an enormous government and one that more and more people are forced to rely on to survive.
The number, while lower than forecast a few months ago, underscored the challenges ahead in shrinking the deficit even as the White House and Congress are considering more steps to stimulate an economy that is making a slow recovery. The political hurdles to finding a solution were evident on Friday as each political party immediately blamed the other for the growth of the deficit.
The shortfall for the fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30, translates to 10 percent of the economy, according to a joint statement from the Treasury secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, and the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Peter R. Orszag. For the 2008 fiscal year, the deficit of $459 billion was 3.2 percent of the economy, as measured by the gross domestic product.
Economists generally agree that annual deficits should not exceed 3 percent of the G.D.P., and that is the level President Obama had vowed to reach by the end of his first term in 2013.
Obama will have to raise taxes to get back any semblance of a stable economy but it's not going to happen in the next year prior to the mid-terms as the vulnerable Democrats will never pass any such increase that will come back and bite them.
So we're sentenced to an entire year an ever-spiralling economic situation and the second part of the double dip recession--inflation isn't even upon us yet.
This is the Obama economy and he owns it but hey, they can still blame Bush.
Hope and change my friends..Hope. And. Change.
Exit quote. Remember when Bush said that governing was "hard work?" I guess he's laughing down in Texas as Obama realizes just how hard the work is:

Tuesday Night News and Notes
Sphere: Related ContentSo the Phillies win the NLDS in come-from-behind style and the media continue to ignore them while hoping against hope that the Dodgers play the Yankees. I'll guess we'll just have to break their hearts again, won't we?
Anyway, here's whats news:
-Olympia Snowe (RINO-ME) decides to be "historic" again and votes the Senate healthcare bill out of committee sending our economy and health system into a potential spiral. A nation soon to be forced into an inept and horrid system says thank you, Senator Snowe.
-The dollar is just north of being toilet paper to the other world economic powers. Wait til inflation kicks in and we can set our goals high and aim for Zimbabwe territory.
-The Ukraine's Yulia Tymoshenko (right top) was named the hottest world leader with Obama
coming in a distant 15th (don't the people who compiled the list know he's The One?). She's smoking hot but she's not nearly as hot as Robert Mugabe of the aforementioned Zimbabwe (right bottom) who makes John Kerry look like a model.
-Blue on blue. Liberals slap fight each other. Let the fun begin.
-Obama has kept one promise; he united the world. The entire planet believes he didn't deserve the Nobel bestowed upon him by liberal intelligentsia.

Bud Selig is an A-Hole
Sphere: Related Content
But you knew that, right?
The Phillies schedule has been two day games starting at 2:37 PM east coast time and a game that was scheduled for last night at 9:37 that was snowed out.
Tonight they play Colorado at 10:00 PM in temps that will be mid-thirties at best instead of playing during the day when temps were someone near the fifties. Why? So as not to compete with the NFL. What a friggin' joke.
Oh, that makeup game will be most-likely tomorrow at 3-ish depending on the results of the Yankees game going on as we speak.
Perhaps Selig needs a crack to the dome to remember the the Phillies are THE REIGNING WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS you fucking idiot. They smacked your Brewers on the way to winning it. They deserve a bit more respect than the bullshit schedule they've been assigned just to maximize ratings and appease the Yankees.
Fuck you Selig, you are the worst commissioner in sports and don't deserve to be the leader of the best sport in America.
Oh, Colorado, build a fucking dome you losers.

Obama Wins Award Created By Inventor of TNT
Sphere: Related ContentThis morning, the country awoke to word that The One won the Nobel Peace Prize and the first coherent thought was "what the fuck?" That was followed by "why?" and quickly followed by "did I just spit coffee all over myself when I heard the words Obama and Nobel in the same sentence?"
It's the equivalent of giving the Cy Young Award to Brad Lidge who was 0-8 with 11 blown saves this year or giving...actually, it's like giving the Cy Young to a double A pitcher who may be a good starter one day. It's a disgrace but then the Nobel Committee has essentially been a disgrace since they gave Yassir Arafat, Jimmy Carter and Al Gore one, which cheapened it to the point of getting one in a Cracker Jack box (update: The guys at Cold Fury beat me to this analogy by hours--nice work).
With regard to peace, Obama has increased troop levels in Afghanistan, kept Gitmo open, increased the chance for war by scrapping the anti-missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic and failing to stand up to Iran who may create more destabilization than the world has seen since WWII once they acquire nukes.
Organizations like those who award the Nobel as well as the UN have been proven a farce. Perhaps some conservative with money will create an award named after Ronald Reagan that actually means something as Reagan was instrumental in freeing millions from Soviet oppression and didn't receive a damn thing for it but scorn from the world community who awards garbage awards like the Nobel Peace Prize. Well, at least those who were freed appreciated it I guess.
When lefty hack papers like the New Statesmen print pix like the one below, you know there's no one in the world who buys this bullshit shoveled by the Nobel people.

Saturday Night News & Notes
Sphere: Related ContentThe word is it's going to be a nasty winter and based on the spring, summer and early fall we're seeing, I'm not betting against it. Should be a joy but hopefully the slopes open early this year.
Anyway, here's what's new in the world:
-This story made the rounds before and is probably being bandied about by his political rivals; Ahmadinejad is of Jewish stock. L'Chaim, Mahmoud.
-Unemployment is at 15-million. That's 9.8% or a number we've not seen since 1983 when Reagan was just beginning to pull us out of the mess created by four years of Jimmy Carter. The ACORN layoffs alone will put it over 10% by Christmas. BTW, taking into account real numbers, it's the highest since records were kept.
-Speaking of those out of work, remember when Obama said it woulkd never reach 8% if we passed the stimulus bill? Er...he was so way off:
-Alarmism: Ban Ki-Moon, Sec General of the UN instructs the world that we only have ten days to prevent climate doom. I'll take my chances. Moon should clean up his organization filled with rapists and thugs before he chastises us.
-Is Obama like Gorbachev? Now that's a funny one to ponder. The left remember Gorbi as the cool Soviet who would save the crumbling empire while the right remembers him as a dude who needed hi fat pulled out of the fire by a blithering Boris Yeltsin.

The First Election Cycle During Obamanation
Sphere: Related ContentThe first election cycle after we became a post-racial nation, which is loved by the entire world is set to take place in a month. How will the GOP do being as they've been handle a gift of epic proportions. The Dems gave us Obama and he's tanked in ways we couldn't have dreamed, faster than anyone thought possible. Will the GOP do what they always do and blow every single political opportunity afforded them or take the ball and break the plane?
The first glimpse we'll have into whether Nobama can lead his party forward or over a cliff is about to play out in the bluest of blue states--my home state of New Jersey:
Corzine's chances of winning re-election now are no better than they were a month ago. The governor continues to be stuck between 38 percent and 42 percent in the ballot test, where he has been for many months, and the fundamentals of the race continue to favor the Republican challenger. The media want you to believe Corzine's got a shot because it is of great significance and a loss by Corzine--whom The One has campaigned pretty hard for--would show that the presidents coattails are pretty short indeed. If a buffoon like Christie who would never have a shot in any other year can win, all bets are off for 2010.
Corzine was at 39 percent among likely voters in the newest Quinnipiac survey, not much different from his 37 percent showing at the end of August, his 40 percent showing in early August or his 38 percent showing in mid-July.
The most recent Quinnipiac poll showed Christie leading Corzine by 4 points because the Republican's vote has slipped from 46 percent or 47 percent in other Quinnipiac surveys to 43 percent. In turn, Independent candidate Chris Daggett's number in the ballot test has risen to 12 percent in the most recent Quinnipiac poll, up from the 7 percent to 9 percent he had been drawing in other recent Quinnipiac surveys.
Update: We're seeing it in Pennsylvania as well where Pat Toomey is making a move past the zombie Arlen Specter.

Redeeming the Irredeemable
Sphere: Related ContentKaren Heller does her best to put a shine on the tarnished ACORN image:
Who are these evil, awful ACORN people conservatives keep attacking? Grandmothers and great-grandmothers like Junette Marcano and Miriam McKnight, organizers of the West Oak Lane branch. You see, us evil conservatives are incessantly "attacking" grandmothers and great-grandmothers because when we can't find any homeless people or illegal immigrants to beat on--our typical prey--old ladies will do just fine. We want to quash those voices in the community and have as our sole mission to keep minorities silent and in their place.
"I got sick after the latest attacks. We work so hard. They're trying to demoralize and disenfranchise us," says Marcano, 66, a retired nurse championing increased funding for neighborhood schools. "ACORN means a lifeline to the low- and moderate-income communities. It empowers people who don't have a voice in the community."
These are the local faces of ACORN: idealistic recent college grads toiling for modest pay, and African Americans, mostly women, trying to make their communities better. "Our members represent the best of their community, they care so deeply," says head organizer Neil Herrmann, 27, who works 60-hour weeks helping the poor. And with everything else going on in the world Barack Obama shouldn't have gone to Copenhagen in what started as another one of his moves to get his mug in the paper and ended as another in a long line of political mishaps showing his political immaturity. But I digress.
With everything else going on in the world, perhaps the attacks on ACORN, the antipoverty community coalition, might have subsided.
But no.
Note that she throws in the race card in that subtle way only one with a journalism degree from one of our esteemed institutions of higher learning can do. She didn't even realize she was doing it I'll bet since injecting race is as intrinsic a part of these types of pieces as writing a headline. Conservative hate African-Americans is as fundamental to liberals like Heller as breathing.
This has been a cruel autumn for the Association for Community Organizations Now. ACORN, the target of virulent attacks during the presidential campaign, is back in the news, due to allegations of voter-registration irregularities in some states and a tawdry sting operation at multiple offices where some employees used abysmal judgment. In Philadelphia, after a couple posing as a prostitute and law student sought assistance in using underage Salvadoran sex workers, an organizer phoned the cops. The attacks on ACORN during the campaign were warranted as they were committing voter fraud--a crime in every state...well, except Illinois. Sure, the ACORN people in Philly saw through the sting but they were also responsible for submitting 1,500 fraudulent registrations in the fall of 2008 in the midst of the election; a fact that Heller neglects to tell us.
Heller goes on to tell us of all the great things ACORN does in the city and then gets to this:
The conservative "media echo chamber" successfully "framed" ACORN coverage last year, according to the study "Manipulating the Public Agenda" by academics Peter Dreier and Christopher Martin. "Voter fraud" was mentioned in more than half of 647 stories, without the claim being verified. Fraud is rare, as opposed to registration irregularities, which are common even at the DMV. In most cases, ACORN reported irregularities, as required under law, then acted to stop improper conduct, mostly by temporary employees. At the Philadelphia office, organizers made up to three calls to verify every registration.See how Heller makes something as important as voter fraud out to be insignificant. One of the cornerstones of our great nation is a free and open election process that is fair. ACORN did everything to subvert that.
Again, Heller doesn't find it intrinsic to the story to mention the voter fraud allegations because it would make her entire story premise collapse like a house of cards.
Why do conservatives fear ACORN? Perhaps because its organizers fought for a minimum-wage increase, angering big business, or because they were early, adamant critics of redlining and predatory lending practices, thereby incensing banks. We don't fear ACORN at all--to the contrary. ACORN is rotten from the inside out and is the antithesis of what America stands for. They lie, cheat and stand for the things most Americans find abhorrent. It had nothing to do with business or banks but solely with the actions they've taken.
But mostly critics seem infuriated by ACORN's voter-registration efforts in economically disadvantaged communities, among Latinos and people of color, folks who tend to vote Democratic. ACORN reports registering nearly 1.7 million voters in the 2004 and 2006 elections, and 1.3 million voters last year, 144,000 in Pennsylvania, more than half in Philadelphia.Again, it's not voter-registration, it illegal voter registration that infuriates us. They got a good many people on the voter rolls indeed...including Mickey Mouse and the Dallas Cowboys football team.
Heller continues on with this drivel for a few more paragraphs but this is the most striking paragraph of the entire essay and shows exactly why people are running away from newspapers in droves:
When angry, embittered, increasingly disenfranchised people don't like what they see, they smear opponents by questioning their legitimacy, politics, methods, and goals. ACORN has been targeted by Berman & Co., a Washington outfit known for "Astroturf lobbying," launching fake grassroots efforts through Web sites, protests, and dubious front organizations funded by corporate clients. When Heller sees fit to include that in this piece, it shows exactly what her mindset is--redeem ACORN at all costs and smear conservatives in the process. Playing the class card is just as easy as playing the race card. However, you can't redeem an organization that is on camera in numerous locations showing their willingness to break the law or assist other sin doing so.
"Let us do what we do best, which is to give power to the poor," Marcano says. "These people who are attacking us want the rich to get richer, the poor to get poorer."
You can put a dress on a pig and it's still a pig. Heller doesn't stop with the dress but goes full-out with mascara, lipstick, a wig and earrings. It's still a pig, Karen and ACORN is still an organization corrupt to its very core.

Obama, Oprah & the Olympics = Epic Fail
Sphere: Related ContentThe number one rule of politics; whether it be a guy running for mayor of his town or the President of these great United States is to ensure that you don't put yourself in a position to fail. You script everything to the minutest detail and if you don't do so, it's at your own peril. Think Bill Clinton jetting to North Korea to get the two American women away from the vile Kim Jong Ill--do you for one second believe Slick Willy is getting on that plane, posing with the shrimp North Korean dictator and not coming home with those women?
Obama--with great fanfare and his wife and Oprah in tow--went to the vote where they were awarding the 2016 summer Olympic games. Michelle made it clear that it was a "sacrifice" to do so mind you. Anyone who follows politics thought that it was a lead-pipe lock or The One wouldn't have wasted our tax dollars, polluted the atmosphere with the emissions from Air Force One and belittled America for the last eight months.
Er, wrong. Obama's home town lost on the very first friggin' vote.
But wait; you knew the sorry-ass libs would find some way to make the whole laughable event Bush's fault:
In spite of President Obama’s lobbying efforts, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) may have chosen to reject hosting the 2016 summer olympic games in Chicago due to the post-9/11 visa tourist policies established by his predecessor, George W. Bush. Michael Froomkin, Professor at the University of Miami School of Law, is convinced that the “the same stupid anti-visitor policy that is destroying American higher education” also sunk Chicago’s Olympic bid.
Oh, OK. Try to rephrase that first sentence to read "Because of Obama's lobbying efforts" since he's the one who has essentially been telling the world that America sucked until he was elected. We've put on incredibly successful Olympics in Lake Placid (twice), Los Angeles, Atlanta, Salt Lake City and Squaw Mountain in the past and are the most qualified by far.
The world loves Obama, or so we've been told. Er, not so much from this ridiculous stunt by the Obamas. Even in the ridiculous Nobel Peace Prize awarded to noted anti-Semite Jimmy Carter charade an American at least won. Today Obama has shown just how far his criticism of America and belittling of our exceptionalism has degraded us in world opinion. Hope and change my friends, hope and change.
