American Woman Proves to Be Manlier Than Other Nations Men

Sphere: Related Content

You know what the definition of an Arab Islamist's worst nightmare is?

Her name is Kim Rhode:

A woman? Who is allowed to shoot? And can hit 99/100 skeet? Most "men" in Saudi or Iran couldn't hit 10 and the "men" in France probably even less than that. Congrats Ms. Rhode, you are a true American legend.

Obama, Oprah & the Olympics = Epic Fail

Sphere: Related Content

The number one rule of politics; whether it be a guy running for mayor of his town or the President of these great United States is to ensure that you don't put yourself in a position to fail. You script everything to the minutest detail and if you don't do so, it's at your own peril. Think Bill Clinton jetting to North Korea to get the two American women away from the vile Kim Jong Ill--do you for one second believe Slick Willy is getting on that plane, posing with the shrimp North Korean dictator and not coming home with those women?

Obama--with great fanfare and his wife and Oprah in tow--went to the vote where they were awarding the 2016 summer Olympic games. Michelle made it clear that it was a "sacrifice" to do so mind you. Anyone who follows politics thought that it was a lead-pipe lock or The One wouldn't have wasted our tax dollars, polluted the atmosphere with the emissions from Air Force One and belittled America for the last eight months.

Er, wrong. Obama's home town lost on the very first friggin' vote.

But wait; you knew the sorry-ass libs would find some way to make the whole laughable event Bush's fault:

In spite of President Obama’s lobbying efforts, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) may have chosen to reject hosting the 2016 summer olympic games in Chicago due to the post-9/11 visa tourist policies established by his predecessor, George W. Bush. Michael Froomkin, Professor at the University of Miami School of Law, is convinced that the “the same stupid anti-visitor policy that is destroying American higher education” also sunk Chicago’s Olympic bid.

Oh, OK. Try to rephrase that first sentence to read "Because of Obama's lobbying efforts" since he's the one who has essentially been telling the world that America sucked until he was elected. We've put on incredibly successful Olympics in Lake Placid (twice), Los Angeles, Atlanta, Salt Lake City and Squaw Mountain in the past and are the most qualified by far.

The world loves Obama, or so we've been told. Er, not so much from this ridiculous stunt by the Obamas. Even in the ridiculous Nobel Peace Prize awarded to noted anti-Semite Jimmy Carter charade an American at least won. Today Obama has shown just how far his criticism of America and belittling of our exceptionalism has degraded us in world opinion. Hope and change my friends, hope and change.

The Week That Was

Sphere: Related Content

I spent the last week in Myrtle Beach, SC where my son played in a baseball tourney at the Cal Ripken facility. No blog posts at all and I only read a paper one day while chillin' around the pool or on the beach.

With that in mind, here's some quick thoughts on what I didn't write about last week:

Georgia: The Russian bear is back and is flexing their might. They showed some muscle invading Southern Ossettia and President Bush and Senator McCain stood strong in most respects. Thank goodness that Jimmy Carter wasn't the Chief Executive of that Georgia.

Poland: The Poles said that yes, in spite of years of hedging, they would indeed welcome missiles for an SDI program into theuir nation. It's amazing what the threat of a Soviet re-emergence can do to a nations bargaining position.

Michael Phelps: One word: Stud.

Barack Obama: Four words: Unsuited for the job.

McCain: Picking a fight with Conservatives to try to win the center. The center means nothing without your base, Senator.
That would be my son at right diving back in during an attempted pick off.

The IOC and China: A Marriage Made in Hell

Sphere: Related Content

Steve Friess takes down the International Olympic Committee and China:

No, the IOC's new wife knew this marriage of convenience would be too great an opportunity, and divorce far too costly, far too humiliating. Even after China's duplicity led to the outbreak of SARS and massive damage to the economies of Asia and Canada in 2003, the IOC held firm. The IOC also shrugged when China's lies led to the 2006 poisoning of a river shared with Russia. And it was much too late for it to matter when illicit manufacturing practices in China led to last year's massive product recalls and the deaths of hundreds of pets worldwide.

The trouble is that the whole world will be watching this month - and will know what it sees. That old trick China has played all this decade - with the IOC's help - of simply saying the opposite of the truth, and having the world believe it, can't work with this sort of withering scrutiny.

That's oddly reassuring. China is not ready for her close-up. This bride is about to be exposed for the lying, cheating gold digger she was all along.
The IOC has been complicit in some shady deals throughout its history including the vile Avery Brundage who refused to allow the 1936 Olympics in Berlin to be moved or canceled when Jewish athletes were excluded and his heartless push to continue the Munich games after Palestinian terrorists killed Israeli athletes and coaches in September 1972.

Spaniard Juan Antonio Samaranch ruled the IOC and while President corruption flourished. His "leadership" encouraged bribery while looking the other way at the indiscretions and human rights abuses of countries hoping to host the games, including the oppressive regime in China.

Current IOC President Belgian Jacques Rogge has been duped repeatedly by the ChiComs who promised clean air, unlimited freedom of access via the Internet and improved human rights. They've delivered on none of the above and once the cameras are gone, the crackdown on Tibet and groups like the Falun Gong will recommence with fervor. The Chinese government did "relax" restrictions on the net yesterday but unfettered access isn't going to happen and the "Great Firewall" will go right back up after the world leaves and looks the other way as we they did when tanks ravaged student at Tienanmen Square.

Read the entire piece as it is a devastating indictment of the IOC and China written by a man who knows the country well.

When Did the Brits Become Such Wimps?

Sphere: Related Content

In one more not-so-stunning example of British wussiness, they've told their athletes to sign a pledge saying they would not criticize the oppressive Beijing regime while at the Olympics:

Graham Nathan, spokesman for the British Olympics Association (BOA), told CNN that "British athletes will have to sign a contract promising not to comment on any politically sensitive issues."

He added that they won't go further than what is required by the International Olympic Committee charter which restricts demonstrations of political propaganda at an Olympic Games.

Athletes who refuse to sign the agreement will not be allowed to travel to compete in the Games from August 8-24, according to a sunday newspaper report.

British Olympic team members have long been required to sign a contract, but for the first time the commitment will include an undertaking not to comment on any politically sensitive issues.
Got that? Regardless of the fact that these athletes have trained for years to become among the best in the world, they can't represent their country until they sign an agreement that says they won't point out unseemly events like the murder of protesters, forced abortion and slave labor.

It's official, the Britain of Margaret Thatcher, Christopher Hitchens and other great and moral men and women is gone. In its place we have the feel-good liberal politics of appeasement that would make Neville Chamberlain cringe.

Churchill must be rolling in his grave.
