At least in two weeks we'll have MNF to make our Mondays a little better. And it kicks off with the Eagles versus the hated Skins.

Anyway, here's what is new in this crazy-ass world:

-The media is playing lapdog to Obama again over his "red line" comments. Here's what Obama actually said:

“We have been very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground, that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized,” the president said a year ago last week. “That would change my calculus. That would change my equation.”

Yes, there's definitely wiggle room there and Obama used the typical mealy-mouthed bullshit we always hear from him when it comes to acting tough. Indeed, he never did say what his actions would be and he did use the weaselly "bunch of chemical weapons", which could be one time using enough to kill a thousand or ten times killing a hundred...either way, a thousand are dead. But anyone who follows the Arab media through sites like MEMRI know damn well that it was interpreted on al-Jazeera and every other middle eastern station that Obama made a threat, Assad disregarded what Obama said and gave him the finger. Obama now needs ABC to cover his ass. Except no one in the Arab world will read that and everyone will think Obama is backing down and got punked.  That will lead to us looking weak and further attacks as any weakness in the part of the world where tribal rules still take precedence is a sign to make your move.

-For crying out loud, legalize it already. When half the country is on government assistance and many can't find a full-time job, worrying about whether or not someone is blowing a blunt seems superfluous.

-Dude, what the fuck was up with Miley Cyrus? I mean, bears, her horrid voice, her twerking, her ridiculous dancing, her outfit, her hair, her tongue? I don't even know where to begin. Dude, if she was even remotely good looking, I may give her a pass on some of it (because, I'm feel, a guy) but that shit was just embarrassing. Actually, the whole VMA's are a joke. 

-But at least we have proof that all young people mindless idiots. Some are heroes and these are the ones we should be talking about. Army Staff Sergeant Ty Carter received the MOH today. Thanks to heroes like this man we can be proud of who we are. Who is this man who "sucked at being a civilian"? Watch this:



-James O'Keefe is relentless. The new media is awesome when it gets former US Attorney's to lose their friggin minds.

-Is the IRS targeting the American Legion? It appears that way. Liberals hate anything that's good about America.

Taking the First Amendment for Granted

Everyone once in a while, I stop and take in the brave new world we live in. We are always connected if we choose to be and sometimes when we choose not to be. Whether on Facebook, YouTube, Linked In or Twitter, we are saying things and commenting like never before. Imagine what Thomas Jefferson or James Madison would think if they knew just how far free speech has come. From a guy orating on a stump to some idiot trolling websites anonymously, we are stretching the bounds of opinion on a daily basis.

That's why it amazes me just how many people take this freedom for granted. Like every God-given right, we have to be vigilant to protect those we have. China shows how easy it is to not only keep the free flow of information from the masses (although some does get in and out) and the junta in Beijing knows the power if they were to ever lose that iron grip. The Soviet Union would never have survived the 90's and 00's because technology does not advance under communism and the propaganda would have been exposed for what it was. NoKo is another animal all together but it's a much smaller brainwashed nation...but I digress.

The freedom to speak and say what you want without repercussions is under siege. Liberals (and some libertarians and conservatives including this one ) screamed in outrage when the Patriot Act was passed to combat terrorism. The least escalation of government in our lives is abhorrent to any true freedom lover and the reassurances by the Bush administration did little to assuage the feeling.

Fast-forward to the current administration and take a quick look at what they are doing. If Bush had even tried to do a sixteenth of what Obama is doing, MSNBC's prime time lineup would have spontaneously combusted on the spot. Chris Matthews would have been even more incoherent than normal and Rachel Maddow would have looked into the camera even more deeply with that faux intellectual look she always affects.

Our rights are not to be trampled and we're seeing more and more on a daily basis. The latest example has been squashed by a judge but the fact they tried this is bothersome. An unnamed telecom company was served with a letter concerning customer information that not only forced them to not discuss the issues raised but to even announce they've received the letter, thus keeping us, the consumer from knowing the government was snooping around in our accounts.

Both challenges are allowed under a federal law that governs NSLs, a power greatly expanded under the Patriot Act that allows the government to get detailed information on Americans’ finances and communications without oversight from a judge. The FBI has issued hundreds of thousands of NSLs over the years and has been reprimanded for abusing them — though almost none of the requests have been challenged by the recipients.

I encourage you to read the entire essay. Our freedoms were guaranteed to us by wiser and more visionary men than we have in charge today. In fact, they were put in place to stop the power grab of men like we currently have in office.

-Don Rickles is 86 and does what Don Rickles always did; take people out of their comfort zones. He made a racist comment about Barack Obama and the world is outraged. I don't recall the outrage when Bill Clinton made a comparable comment in 2008. Whatever, anything I say about Obama between now and November will be racist even when it isn't.

-Did anyone notice that there was a recall election that pitted Big Labor versus a governor trying to curtail their powers and Big Labor got soundly whipped? I didn't either.

-When I served in the Navy, it was generally considered that 300-400 ships were where we needed to be to project power. Romney believes that but Obama sure as hell doesn't. Expect Russia and especially China to keep expanding. Let's take time to remember the good ship USS Schenectady (LST-1185) and her death at the hands of several USAF JDAM's off the Hawaii coast. That old bitch didn't go without a fight:

-The President of Estonia smacks the shit out of chief Keynesian Paul Krugman over Krugman's criticism of Estonia and their government not following the tax and spend line and actually succeeding. I'm sure the famously thin-skinned former Enron advisor and Nobel winner will handle this with class and dignity.

-Liberals like voter fraud. Liberals still hate the late Andrew Breitbart. So when liberals are caught committing voter fraud and Breitbart protege's expose it, I enjoy broadcasting it to my little piece of the new media world.

No Matter How Stupid, Guillen Has Right to Speak His mind

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen allegedly said some comments about dictator and murderer Fidel Castro where he expressed his "love" for Castro and other praise. Unfortunately for Guillen, he did it in the one place where hatred for Castro is deeply imbedded.

Miami has the largest Cuban population outside of Havana and many of them have suffered personally or had loved one oppressed, jailed or killed by the vile thug. Today, the Marlins suspended Guillen for 5-games and it's up in the air whether he can survive as manager in his new city.

Now what Ozzie said was idiotic but the Marlins were wrong in suspending him. he man has his rights and opining is one of them. He claims he was misinterpreted and with todays media I cannot discount that but he still has the right to say what he wants. I get that it was purely a business decision and the Marlins need to do damage control but I'm a firm believer in the right to free speech and Guillen was denied that.

Is There a More Useless POS Than Gloria Allred?

Really?

Gloria Allred has sent a letter to Denise Nieman, the County Prosecutor in West Palm Beach, Florida, on behalf of the Women’s Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund, asking for an investigation into whether Rush Limbaugh violated Florida defamation law when he called Sandra Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute." Allred cites Section 836.04 of Florida Statute, which says that "whoever speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree."

"Mr. Limbaugh has publicly acknowledged that his reference to Ms. Fluke as a 'slut' and 'prostitute' were baseless and false," Allred writes. "In view of the fact that Mr. Limbaugh resides in your county and allegedly made the false statements concerning Ms. Fluke in your county as well, this letter is directed to your office."

Now I'm no lawyer and don't even play one on this blog but isn't Rush covered by something called the 1st Amendment? And if not, wouldn't a similar case be justified against Bill Maher or the myriad other lefties who defamed Michelle Malkin and sarah Palin? While I would like to see Maher and his less funny and less talented buddy Olbermann be forced to pick up trash on the side of the highway and/or shovel out enough cash to put Willow Palin and Malkin's kids through college, I can't bring myself to just erase a constitutionally-protected right.

Is Gloria Allred the biggest attention whore ever (or should I call her a prostitute)? Every single case that comes up involved a woman in some way she's the bitch who is ambulance-chasing and tracking them down to appear with her. Has she ever won these women anything or help them in any way?

She's got to change her name since "allred" is what happens when you are shameful and this idiot has absolutely no shame.

More Democrat Crushing of Free Speech

It's only year one in Obamanation and we're already seeing bills introduced that would curtail free speech in ways never before considered:

Proposed congressional legislation would demand up to two years in prison for those whose electronic speech is meant to “coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person.”

Every single one of my posts is meant to "coerce...or cause substantial emotional distress" to liberals. That's by design. This is a great example. So is this.

The proposal by Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Los Angeles, would never pass First Amendment muster, unless the U.S. Constitution was altered without us knowing. So Sanchez, and the 14 other lawmakers who signed on to the proposal, are grandstanding to show the public they care about children and are opposed to cyberbullying.

The meaasure (sic), H.R. 1966, is labeled the Megan Meier Cyberbullying Prevention Act. It’s designed to target the behavior that led to last year’s suicide of the 13-year-old Meier.

And there you go, we must pass this un-Constitutional bill because it's "for the kids". How the hell could you oppose this, do you hate kids?

There slippery slopes and slopes lined with Crisco oil. This would be the latter. I mean, it would be like a Democratic president using his authority to round up a certain ethnic group and interning them because their ancestral homeland attacked one of our Navy bases or something. That couldn't happen, right?

Who would be the arbiters of what words "intimidate," "harass" or "cause emotional distress" anyway?

I could see conservative bloggers being investigated for every single post and it will effectively shut down the newest and some may say most important form of free speech that we now have. Of course, the Democrats led by Sanchez have exactly that goal in mind.

Dems Itching to Reinstate Fairness Doctrine

And by fairness they mean competely unfair.

The Dems are going hard for what has been a bastion of conservatism: talk radio:

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday defended the so-called Fairness Doctrine in an interview on Fox News, saying, “I think we should all be fair and balanced, don’t you?”

...Asked if he is a supporter of telling radio stations what content they should have, Schumer used the fair and balanced line, claiming that critics of the Fairness Doctrine are being inconsistent.

“The very same people who don’t want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC [Federal Communications Commission] to limit pornography on the air. I am for that… But you can’t say government hands off in one area to a commercial enterprise but you are allowed to intervene in another. That’s not consistent.”

Note they are only bringing up talk radio but what about TV? Turnabout is fair play so I figure that MSNBC will have to move Olbermann (or team him up with Tammy Bruce) and install Jonah Goldberg betweeen Matthews and Maddow. Or better yet, remove Jack McCaffery and put Laura Ingraham in his place. As anyone with half a brain can figure out, Fox would not have to do anything about Hannity and Colmes and they can just insert some other half-wit liberal (but I'm redundant) beside O'Reilly and they'll meet the standard. Brit Hume already has Juan Williams and that lady from NPR so they meet the doctrine.

And my local radio station already has Michael Smerconish who voted for Obama as well as Beck and Limbaugh so they would only need some clueless lefty--say Randi Rhodes at 1:00 AM to balance it out.

If it wasn't such a gross violation of the 1st Amendment it would be kinda fun.

So we have a preview of the next four years. If liberals can't win on merit, they'll do it by decree. I can't wait until this goes to court and the Daily Kos is forced to accept Ace or Allah on the team. Even better, how about Michelle Malkin and Mary Kay Ham on the op-ed pages of the NY Times. The lawsuits over this should be a blast to follow.

The Obama--Ayers Controversy is not Going Away

Obama has to explain his association with terrorist Bill Ayers and he has to do it now. His protestations that he was "eight years old" at the time of Ayers violence rings hollow with me and I suspect many others as well (including liberals).

The Obama campaign instead has chosen the tack of intimidation to keep the story under wraps and it's now to the point that the God-given right of Freedom of Speech is under attack by the Democrat nominee. This from the AIP:

The Barack Obama campaign has now sent a second letter to the Department of Justice calling for the prosecution of one of American Issues Project’s donors for his role in funding a political advertisement in full compliance with all election laws.

“Having failed in its attempts to get our legal, factual and fully-supported ad off the air, Barack Obama’s campaign now wants to put our donors in prison for exercising their right to free speech,” said Ed Martin, American Issues Project’s president. “These over-the-top bullying tactics are reminiscent of the kind of censorship one would see in a Stalinist dictatorship, with the only difference being that those guys generally had to wait until they were in power to throw people who disagreed with them into jail.”

Please keep up on this important issue as it is an alarming vision of what we could expect in an Obama administration. Michelle Malkin is writing great pieces about this daily.

I for one will not let this crucial story go. A guy who is now the Democrat nominee was associated with a man who waged war against this country. He has never apologized for his actions and didn't go to jail for the crimes simply because charges were dropped on a technicality. Think if John McCain had been shown to have an association with Timothy McVeigh and you'll grasp the significance.

The Ayers/Terrorist Story Must Have Obama Scared

When Obama went after McCain on the "how many houses" deal, he left himself open to a full frontal assault on him on things that were not mainstream issues. The major one is Obama's association with unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. The McCain team produced this ad that was released a few days ago:



All factual and very inconvenient for The Messiah during his coronation week.

So, what does our hero Barry H.O. do? Well, he runs home and tells his Mommy that the boys in the neighborhood aren't playing nice and that the feds must get it off the air:

Barack Obama is striking back fiercely and swiftly to stamp out an ad that links him to a 1960s radical, eager to demonstrate a far more aggressive response to attacks than John Kerry did when faced with the 2004 "Swift Boat" campaign.

Obama not only aired a response ad to the spot linking him to William Ayers, but he sought to block stations the commercial by warning station managers and asking the Justice Department to intervene. The campaign also planned to compel advertisers to pressure stations that continue to air the anti-Obama commercial.

It's the type of going-for-the-jugular approach to politics many Democrats complain that Kerry lacked and that Republicans exploit.

Obama's target is an ad by the conservative American Issues Project, a nonprofit group that questions Obama's ties to Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground organization that took credit for a series of bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol four decades ago.

The AP being the AP waters it down somewhat. First, John Kerry didn't respond to the Swift Boat attacks because they were truthful and was on tape lying during the "Winter Soldier" hearings. As for Obama, he's just as at a loss as Kerry because he has indeed had a relationship with a man who planned terror events against our nation.

The AP says that Obama is "going for the jugular" to protect himself but they fail to say that in doing so, he's making it a much larger issue. Now the MSM has to report this story and once it gets into the American consciousness, there's not changing it--think the Obama is a Muslim rumor and how hard he's fought to quash that particular innuendo.

As for going after advertisers, well, that's just stomping all over the 1st Amendment and Americans won't stand for that. McCain should have an ad out within a day slamming the campaign for stifling debate. The Obama hacks are all over the boycott bullshit but it will have zero effect since the Internet is the prime source of news now anyway--it sure as hell isn't the NY Times anymore.

So this must really have The Messiah on edge to go this far to stop this from becoming public knowledge. He's sinking daily in the polls and the convention isn't being watched by anyone so he most-likely won't get the bounce he expected. The implosion continues and this may be the biggest bang thus far.

What Independence Day Really Means

232 years ago, brave men made a decision to lay their lives on the line for a common cause, a cause so great they risked everything.

Men like John Hancock who was a well-off business owner. He was so despised by the British that a proclamation offering amnesty to those who pledged allegiance to the crowd specifically excluded him and another great patriot Samuel Adams.

Men like Benjamin Franklin who by 1776 was an internationally known celebrity. He signed on to what proved to be his greatest experiment.

Men like a Virginia gentleman named George Washington who left his wife and farm to lead a rag-tag band of volunteers against the greatest army the world had yet seen.

Men like Nathanael Greene who battled British general Cornwallis throughout the South trading temporary losses for ultimate victory.

Men like Henry Knox who was an integral part of Washington's crossing of the Delaware and defeat of the Hessian's at Trenton.

Men like John Glover who led what was to become my beloved US Navy. He gave a schooner to the cause that was used to raid British shipping. Glover saved the war cause on several occasions.

I ask, do we have men like this today? Would Barack Obama sign his name to a document that would effectively put a price on his head and lead to his hanging? Would Lindsey Graham give up a life of luxury and fight for the ideal of freedom? Would Bill Gates defend the nation that has made him one of the wealthiest men in the world? Would Bill Clinton risk his life by supporting a cause greater than anyone?

There are but a few who would sacrifice everything and you can tell who they are because they have already done so. Men and woman who've opted for the meager pay and danger of serving in our military. Men like John McCain who was sentenced to five years of hell in a rancid prison. Men like former Senator Robert Dole and JFK. Men who risked their lives so that we could remain free.

A Brit--Sir Winston Churchill--who had the spirit of America in him said: "We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

Those men who gave up everything so that we may celebrate nearly two and a half centuries later deserve to be remembered so hoist a cold one to these great men and women who gave us the ultimate gift...America.

Thursday Night Music--American Pride Edition

The usual Friday Night Music is happening tonight because I fully intend to celebrate my freedom and the freedom of the greatest country ever created by indulging in large quantities of food and Yuenglings.

Tonight we feature songs about America and not protest type so you won't be hearing Pearl Jam, Buffalo Springfield or any of the others groups who choose to spotlight the bad in America instead of the good. Granted, some of the best music ever made were protest songs but this is a day for celebrating the good in America.

We start with Charlie Daniels and In America. In the late seventies, we had suffered through nearly a term of Jimmy Carter and the country was in the dumps. Iran held our citizens captive, the USSR invaded Afghanistan and the economy and inflation were a nightmare. Unemployment was in the 12% range and the worst president ever told us all to put on a sweater. Fortunately, Ronnie Reagan was elected and we came out of that down period with a renewed sense of optimism and pride This song was released in 1980, not 1976 as it says at You Tube.:

Some thought this a desecration of the song but I think it was that most American of things: the freedom to interpret and say things as one pleases. Woodstock was a seminal event in our history and this was the most intriguing moment of that event by far.

Amnesty International should be concentrating on the oppressive regimes in Zimbabwe, North Korea and most of the Middle East. Instead, it's the evil America who they go after because they know that a) they won't be prosecuted, tortured and murdered like in Zimbabwe and NoKo and b) they won't be beheaded like they would in the Mid East. The extreme left has infiltrated every, single NGO fighting for human rights to the detriment of those who actually need these organizations speaking for them.

Liberals believe in free speech and the free exchange of ideas only when the speech is approved by them and the ideas are ones they agree with. This time they attacked McCain.

Richard Warman is a Douchebag

If I were in Canada, I could get sued for that headline even though all facts point to that being a 100% truthful statement. You see, the Canadian liberals have helped enact laws that make free speech--the cornerstone of American constitutional rights--illegal and have used it to destroy those who they disagree with politically. Richard Warman (did I mention he's a douchebag?) has made a career out of suing right-of-center writers (in Canada, right of center to this idiot mean anyone more conservative than Phil Donahue) and has been pretty damn successful.

But screw it, I live in America where I have protection from girly-men like Warman and I can say what I want, when I want on this blog (note the picture of the smug prick at right.)

Richard Warman used to work for the notorious Human Rights Commission, which runs the "kangaroo courts" who’ve charged Mark Steyn with "flagrant Islamophobia."

And so it goes, Richard Warman (did I mention what a douchebag this dude is?) is suing with the only intention of bankrupting people with opinions not like his own and is trampling on one of mankind's most cherished freedoms for his own ill-conceived goals.

Canada originally created their laws concerning hate speech to combat white supremacist's and in turn began the fall down that slippery slope where anything can be misconstrued as "hate speech". Kathy, Ezra and the others are now in the thick of a lawsuit for doing nothing other than speak their minds and have an opinion.

Here's hoping they beat the asshole and if you have a blog, please spread the word about what is happening to the north. I may one day be beaten but it won't be by the likes of the biggest pussy in the Great White North, Richard Warman (did I mention he's a douchebag?).

Joey Vento Wins a Victory for Free Speech

Joey Vento wins:

PHILADELPHIA - The owner of a famous cheesesteak shop did not discriminate when he posted signs asking customers to speak English, a city panel ruled Wednesday.

In a 2-1 vote, a Commission on Human Relations panel found that two signs at Geno's Steaks telling customers, "This is America: WHEN ORDERING 'PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH,'" do not violate the city's Fair Practices Ordinance.

Shop owner Joe Vento has said he posted the signs in October 2005 because of concerns over immigration reform and an increasing number of people in the area who could not order in English.

Vento is a character for sure, he donated an entire days proceeds to 9/11 causes and is known as a man who will help any cause. He has never refused service to anyone because they didn't speak English. He's a proud son of immigrants who worked hard and learned to speak the language of this country and he expects today's immigrants to do the same.

Hick Lawmaker Wants Anonymous Commenting Made Illegal

The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.

Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.

If the bill becomes law, the website operator would have to pay if someone was allowed to post anonymously on their site. The fine would be five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that.

Representative Couch says he filed the bill in hopes of cutting down on online bullying. He says that has especially been a problem in his Eastern Kentucky district.

It would probably decrease commenting by about 90% and as AP notes would probably increase the intelligent conversation one hundred-fold.

And before you ask, yes, the esteemed Representative who wishes to destroy the Constitution is a Republican.

British to Arrest Blogger For Inciting "Racial Hatred"

British blogger "Lionheart" has been informed that he will be arrested upon his return to the UK for "stirring up racial hatred", a dubious reason in this Americans mind. He's vowing to fight the good fight:

Where I live is the frontline in Al Qaeda's war against Great Britain, and my blog exposes that for the British people to read so that they can understand the seriousness of the threat that they now face.Yet somebody somewhere has now chosen to try to silence me - You want a fight, then lets fight.

Even if some words were "inciteful", that is the point of a free society. If one can't speak freely without fear of government intrusion or imprisonment than that society is not truly free.

What has become of the once-great UK? Londonistan indeed.

Canadian Islamists Go After Mark Steyn

MacLean's posted excerpts from Mark Steyn's book and now Islamist's are seeking his head in a figurative sense:

The Canadian Islamic Congress—Canada's largest non-profit Islamic body—has launched two human rights complaints against Maclean's and its editor-in-chief, Kenneth Whyte. The complaints' subject is "The Future Belongs to Islam," an excerpt from Mark Steyn's book "America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It," which appeared in the magazine's Oct. 23, 2006, issue.

Complaints were submitted to Human Rights Commissions in B.C. and Ontario on the grounds that "the article subjects Canadian Muslims to hatred and contempt," according to a CIC press release. In the release, the CIC labels Steyn's article as "flagrantly Islamophobic."

Faisal Joseph is the CIC's legal counsel on the matter. "In Canada, we have 750,000 law-abiding Muslims," he says. "When you read that article, it sounds to some people [like] there’s an attack from the 'Muslim' world against the 'non-Muslim' world. We take real issue with that type of characterization and the implications of it."

I guess the CIC is the Canadian equivalent of CAIR. I'm happy Mac Lean's is defending Steyn, a US publisher would have caved.
