Tuesday Night News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Thanksgiving is getting close. It seems like summer just ended.

Here's what's new:

-Any story that starts with "A Florida Man.." always ends up being epic. This dumb ass ran over himself at a strip club.

-President-elect Trump did a very presidential thing and called the family of the San Antonio Police officer shot by a thug whom snuck up on him. No word on whether Obama called or not.

-A NYC cab driver was arrested for plotting a Paris-style attack by running over people in Times Square.

-I'm hoping the fact that my daughter is going to a southern school means she will be able to be a free thinker because anything north of Virginia tends to be as liberals as this. I know we have outbreaks of  insane liberalism at southern schools but I think there's at least a balance.

In the wake of Donald Trump's victory, some students and administrators at Loyola University Maryland aren't feeling very American anymore. As a result, they put pressure on the student-government to change its "America" theme party for seniors to something less "alienating, divisive, and harmful."
Um, if you don't want to go to an America-themed party, don't go. If you don't want to live in America, leave. No one is holding you back.

-Some Democrats may just be opening their eyes to why they failed spectacularly. I'm guessing they will ruminate on this, some will see the light and then they will go back to calling everyone racist and advocating for genderless bathrooms, which put us where we are.

-The US navy had designed the best ships in the world. technologically, mechanically and from a utility standpoint, we've been great This is one that may not live up to the standard. Admiral Zumwalt is probably rolling over in his grave right about now.

_Does anyone, anywhere care what Howard Dean says about anything?

No Matter How Stupid, Guillen Has Right to Speak His mind

Sphere: Related Content

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen allegedly said some comments about dictator and murderer Fidel Castro where he expressed his "love" for Castro and other praise. Unfortunately for Guillen, he did it in the one place where hatred for Castro is deeply imbedded.

Miami has the largest Cuban population outside of Havana and many of them have suffered personally or had loved one oppressed, jailed or killed by the vile thug. Today, the Marlins suspended Guillen for 5-games and it's up in the air whether he can survive as manager in his new city.

Now what Ozzie said was idiotic but the Marlins were wrong in suspending him. he man has his rights and opining is one of them. He claims he was misinterpreted and with todays media I cannot discount that but he still has the right to say what he wants. I get that it was purely a business decision and the Marlins need to do damage control but I'm a firm believer in the right to free speech and Guillen was denied that.

Trayvon Martin Case Re-ignites Racial Issues

Sphere: Related Content

The facts:

Trayvon Martin, a 17-year old black man, was walking home from a convenience store in Florida with some food and an iced tea. George Zimmerman, a hispanic man (as described by his own family) who served as a leader in a local neighborhood watch group came in contact with Mr. Martin and during an ensuing scuffle, Zimmerman fatally shot Martin. Zimmerman has not been arrested at this point and was within his rights in the state to carry the weapon.

We'll soon find out where the truth lies after the investigation is completed.

Until then, we'll have to deal with the media barrage and the nightly appearances of every single race-monger in the United States led by Al Sharpton. The issue has even drawn Obama in and promises to be a major issue for the next month as the media reports every single detail of this tragic story.

This is a horrific story and one I'm not sure anyone besides Sharpton and his cronies wanted politicized to the point it currently is. Politicizing any issue of this magnitude only hampers the investigation, makes people draw conclusions before examining all the evidence and sends people involved into cover-their -ass mode.

Yes, there are some disconcerting issues here about procedure and policy but time is needed to investigate and get to the facts. Facts are the only goal and the waters are getting so muddied that a proper examination of the facts may never be accomplished.

In the meantime, as a parent with a son nearly the same age as Trayvon, I say to the media and the race army led by Sharpton; let the investigation continue, justice will prevail. I feel for Trayvon's parents and would feel as they do about the inconsistencies. You have two minority men at the heart of the issue and tensions will elevate unless someone with gravitas takes a step back and says "let's wait, let's allow the investigation to proceed and see where it takes us".

Sadly, for a media whore like Al Sharpton, this will never happen because Sharpton is The Authority on All Things African-American.

Professor Jacobsen is thinking along these same lines.

Crist is Almost as Tone Deaf as Obama

Sphere: Related Content

Charlie Crist has been pounded from the right by Marco Rubio who has entrenched himself as the conservative and his bonafides are rock solid. Crist got caught up in Obamania and was pictured with The One in a hug (right) while supporting his budget-busting legislation.

Crist is getting crushed in the primary battle and one would think he'd at least try to act somewhat conservative. You'd be wrong:

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune that illegal immigrants should not count in the census, a position that would cost the state federal money and one that puts him at odds with Gov. Charlie Crist — his primary opponent — as well as the Republican-controlled legislature.

Rubio’s spokesman told the paper that his position was based on “rightful representation in Congress and ensuring that every voter has an equal voice.”

Today, Crist, trailing Rubio in recent polls, called the former state House speaker’s position “absurd.”

“Florida deserves to have her fair share. And I think making sure that we count every single Floridian is vitally important. That’s why I went to the school yesterday in North Miami,” Crist said.
Essentially what Crist is saying is "screw the rest of the country, let's count the illegals so we can get a bigger share of money forcefully taken from people in other states". That would be fraud anywhere else but not in the non-political world.

Crist is sucking up to Florida's immigrants who can vote but also to those who can't vote but will do so illegally. Again, fraud.

Does Crist not realize that it was the illegal alien issue that lost the presidency for John McCain. Bush also lost the support of his base--the only support he had at that point--because of this issue.

Rubio will rout Crist and win the seat sending a real conservative to the Senate and not another RINO. We already have far too many of them.

Hamas Supporters Show that Islam Is About Love and Peace...Or Not

Sphere: Related Content

It's only hate when it's not directed at Israel:

I believe I saw the required Che poster as well as International A.N.S.W.E.R. ones as well. But more importantly, note how the Sun-Sentinel reported whitewashed the event, no mention of the woman with the head scarf and kaffiyeh screaming "go back to the ovens" or "your mother is a whore".

Excellent work by Tom Trento.

The Hamas-supporters got quite violent as the event went on and it took the work of a guy with a video camera to get the inside story.

Note the guy who creepily says that once people understand Islam they "will have no choice but to accept it as part of their nature" at about the 6:00 mark. Islam does mean submission.

Thanks to people like Trento and Zombie, we get a great insight into how the anti-war, terror-supporting groups agitate and work their followers up into a lather. One of these events will get violent real soon.

The networks in a rerun of Florida 2000...

In all cases, it's the Dems who are involved.

Update: In what is not a fraudulent occurrence but should be as the man should be a felon; unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers voted. Since neither Pol Pot, Stalin or Castro were on the ballot, I'm guessing he went with Obama.

Update: The Catholic Church through ACORN...

Update: In Minnesota (ACORN just keeps popping up)...

Update: And Wisconsin...
