Republican's Always Gonna Republican

Sphere: Related Content

The GOP now has the Senate, House, Oval Office and soon will have the Supreme Court. That's all branches of the government for those keeping score at home. Finally we can get stuff done that we've been waiting a generation for: tax cuts, reduced regulations, increased assistance for small business, a major corporate tax cut, it's all in front of us...except, the Republicans have a sudden case of the pussies.

Trump is scaring the shit out of them and they are really perplexed. Sure, they talk the talk on the campaign trail but as always happens when they are required to step up and meet those promises they get all wishy-washy. They told us if we gave them the House they would stop funding Obamacare. They told us they need the Senate to do it and we gave them the Senate...still nothing. Finally they have everything in front of them, the ability to make history and show conservative ideas really work (the fact that Reagan showed they do is lost on them) is here and they act like a bunch of scared little girls.

Trump wants to eliminate Obamacare and has told them to get to it and they keep letting the timeline slip. Every day it gets longer and longer. National security is something these a-holes always talk about for hours while campaigning but given a clear opportunity to rewrite the tax code they shrivel up. Getting jobs back in the US is the number one promise of the president and he's doing everything possible while the wilty flowers in the legislative branch wring their collective hands because this is just the way or the speed things are done in Washington.

My goodness, if they act on any of this they might get invited to the best parties or the dinosaur NY Times may write something bad about them. Suck it the fuck up y'all, you work for your constituents and they voted Trump in as well. I get you're supposed to be a check and provide balance but for crying out loud, that's generally a check and balance for the other party, not your own. If McConnell and Ryan--the consummate insiders cannot get it done, replace them with someone who can.

We've got a prime opportunity to fundamentally transform America for the next 20 years and you slink away because y'all have no balls. Those of us who elected Trump want exactly what he said he was going to do. You want the status quo. You lose. Time to man up and act like representatives instead of enabled losers living off the government dole. Believe me, you not adequately responding to Fast and Furious, the IRS targeting of the Tea Party and Benghazi will seem like a minor affair compared to the thrashing y'all will get if you fail at this.

Can the GOP Win It All?

Sphere: Related Content

Is it possible that the GOP can win the presidency and the Senate while holding the House? Yes.

Romney is running a nice campaign, hitting back at the Obama campaign on each and every point raised and doing it rapidly. They've managed to keep the president off balance and unless we see a major turnaround in the economy, Obama will likely have one hell of an uphill battle.

In the House, the idea that Democrats can win even half the seats needed is difficult to imagine. While congress currently wallows in historically low approval numbers, they are mired equally. This could change if the Bush tax cuts and other economic concerns drag on and decisions aren't reached. Nate Silver discusses this today.

But what about the Senate? Could large turnout and an energized base help the GOP win in states like Florida and Virginia? Possibly. Real Clear Politics has the Dems with the advantage but there are 8 tossups and one likely GOP pick up in Nebraska of an open seat. Of those eight tossups, only 2 are Republicans and of those, Tester and McCaskill are very winnable. If Elizabeth (Fauxcahontas) Warren keeps running the worst race ever, Scott  Brown will hold his seat.

A great deal can happen in the next few months but the possibility exists that a GOP ass-whipping could occur and that would give a President Romney 24-months to start undoing the damage inflicted over the last three and a half years.

Dems Lies on Softening the Rhetoric Exposed Again

Sphere: Related Content

Anyone who's read this blog more than once knows that I don't use or abide hate speech be it racial, misogynistic, bigoted any other such garbage but I sure as hell speak my mind. That said, I have to say that there's one distinct group I really do hate and anything said about them goes. That group is hypocrites.

Take a second to listen to this nice little screed by Rep. Steve Cohen (D) who I'm guessing is a Jew:

“They say it's a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels," Cohen said. "You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel. That's the same kind of thing."

“The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it--believed it and you have the Holocaust. We heard on this floor, government takeover of health care. Politifact said the biggest lie of 2010 was a government takeover of health care because there is no government takeover,"

Isn't this the new era where we all get along and make nice since a left wing psycho shot a sitting congresswoman a week and a half ago? Evidently, Rep. Cohen didn't get Pelosi's e-mail. Or maybe he did but it's just so incredibly ingrained in their heads to equate us to Nazi's that he couldn't o any longer without getting his fix.

Ed Morrisey notes that the scumbag congressslug should know better since he was compared to the Klan by his (Democrat) opponent. Ed also points out that this guy is no stranger to over the top rhetoric.

Now that the biggest elected douche bag in the world has been shown the door, perhaps Rep. Cohen is trying to ascend to the title.

Can We Get a Speaker Who Doesn't Cry All the Time?

Sphere: Related Content

Jeez dude, I don't think Nancy Pelosi ever cried (and I mean ever) and every time I see David Boehner he's sobbing like a little girl. No offense dude, but the GOP is the party of men who handle adversity by steeling themselves while looking at the options that will make things better. Liberals cry about stupid shit.

We finally get the House back and we elect a guy who even Barbara Walters thinks is a friggin' pussy. Even the feeble-minded Joy Behar's going to have a blast picking this bawling bastard apart.

I get it congressman, you've come from humble beginnings and worked your way up to number two in the list of succession but for crying out loud, that's the American story. Ask the private fighting the Taliban what he thinks about seeing a leader break out in tears for no good reason while he hasn't seen his kids in months and nearly got killed in a fire fight last night.

Finally, enough with the Obama disrespected me crap. He's the president and he's from the opposition that has no problem labeling anyone who disagrees with them as racist, a Nazi or worse. Get over it, every Democrat thinks every Republican is a moron that can't read without pictures and can't come up with a thought without someone else feeding it to them.

We finally won back leadership of part of the government and we're stuck with a man who's more of a woman than the woman currently serving in the position. To paraphrase Sarah Palin: man up, dude!

Healthcare D-Day Tomorrow

Sphere: Related Content

I've been entirely to busy with work to post anything but this is at the critical stage. To put it bluntly, America will be fundamentally changed in the next decade if Pelosi, Reid and Obama pull off this coup.

So where do we stand? As of this second, Pelosi has managed to get some wavering initial "no" votes to sell their souls and switch to "yes" effectively ending their careers at the alter of socialized medicine. According to Jim Hoft whose been following this like a hawk, the tally stands at 217 against versus 214 for. That will change as Rep. Stupak is holding a presser this morning and is expected to say that he and Speaker Botox came to an agreement on abortion language. If his bloc of anti-abortion Dems falls it's game over unless the pro-abortion advocates decide they don't like the amendment and vote no out of spite.

So...right now Pelosi's beating, cajoling, screaming and threatening her fellow Dems to push through a massive program that the majority of the country hates and gives tax-payer funded gifts to unions, the healthcare industry they've been berating and other noteworthy Dem supporters while tearing apart one sixth of the American economy.

If this were passed--especially with the "Slaughter Rule" usage--we'll definitely be referring to Rep. Boehner as Speaker come next year.

Thoughts on DEMOCRAT Congressman Massa (D-NY)

Sphere: Related Content

Representative Massa turns out to be the most vile peoples representative of this--or any--Congress.

Some lowlights:

-He groped fellow officers and tried to "snorkle" at least one. Thanks for perpetuating the myth that the Navy is chock full of gays riding a Sullivanesque love boat. If he had been an enlisted man, he'd have been booted with a less than honorable or a dishonorable and probably done time at Leavenworth breaking big rocks into little ones on a rape charge. That is if he wasn't beaten down and thrown over the side.

-My second thought was how the hell did this guy escape scrutiny. He lived with five aides in a rental joint in DC where they seemed to have gotten busy regularly. I'm sure "snorkling" was a favored event after long grueling hours of listening to Henry Waxman drone on and on.

-Finally, he's a Democrat; a fact that has been blurred in this whole mess. He was against the healthcare bill because it wasn't socialist enough.

This guy is a scumbag of the first order and only won because the MSM wasn't about to dig into any lefties running in the 2008 elections. They failed dramatically on this douchebag.

Botox Pelosi Stressing Out

Sphere: Related Content

Old San Fran Nan just isn't handling the healthcare battle real well:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi got exasperated when asked at her weekly news conference about the unwillingness of some Democrats – including Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) – to support the health bill because of abortion language.

“Let me say this: This is not about abortion! This is a bill about providing quality, affordable health care for all Americans,” she said, more eager than ever to stay on message as her legacy becomes increasingly tied to what happens in the next few weeks.

The speaker had just talked about areas of disagreement between the House and Senate bills that are being worked on as leaders iron out legislative language for a comprehensive package that Congress can pass. But she omitted abortion.

“I will not have it turned into a debate on (abortion),” she said, when asked a follow-up question about Stupak. “Let me say it clearly: we all agree on the three following things. … One is there is no federal funding for abortion. That is the law of the land. It is not changed in this bill. There is no change in the access to abortion. No more or no less: It is abortion neutral in terms of access or diminution of access. And, third, we want to pass a health care bill.”
Take your Prozac, Madame Speaker.

Why is it not about abortion? According to liberals, everyone just loves abortion or as they call it "reproductive rights". If people love it so much, let's say it is about abortion and have a national discussion on that as well as healthcare that will destroy 1/6 of the US economy in a decade.

Pelosi is losing it and again proves she's the worst Speaker of the House in 50-years. She can't keep her people in line, butchered the Rangel replacement issue and is about to be played severely by Obama perhaps.

The stress would be showing on her face is there was actually enough loose skin to move.

Frigid Legislative Climate Freezing Out Global Warming Bill

Sphere: Related Content

Democrats have a huge majority in the House and a veto-proof majority in the Senate and still are seeing major legislation tied up by a concerted effort by right-thinking Americans and the GOP elected officials riding our coat tails.

Because of this confluence of events, Cap and Trade is dying a slow death:

With the fight over health care reform absorbing all the bandwidth on Capitol Hill, Democrats fear a major climate change bill may be left on the cutting-room floor this year.

A handful of key senators on climate change are almost guaranteed to be tied up well into the fall on health care. Democrats from the Midwest and the South are resistant to a cap-and-trade proposal. And few if any Republicans are jumping in to help push a global warming and energy initiative.

As a result, many Democrats fear the lack of political will and the congressional calendar will conspire to punt climate change into next year.

“The reality is [the health reform bill] is going to happen before cap and trade,” said House Agriculture Committee Chairman Rep. Collin Peterson, who’s been working with farm-state senators on the climate legislation. “Who knows if it will ever come out of the Senate?”
That last sentence is a thing of absolute beauty. If we can keep any global warming legislation out of the Senate it would be the single-best thing accomplished this year short of stopping health care.

Rep. Clyburn:Sanford Zimbabwe Comparison is Racist

Sphere: Related Content

He's the governor of South Carolina (wink, wink, they're all racist down there) and is a Republican (they're racist everywhere) so you know, comparing the Obama plan to an African country where bread costs $1-million dollars is just plain racist:

Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) told me he thinks S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford's quip comparing President Obama's stimulus package to Zimbabwe's economic policies are "beyond the pale" — and suggested they might carry a racial subtext.

"For him to compare the president of this country to Mugabe. ... It's just beyond the pale," said Clyburn, who has sparred with Sanford over the Republican's refusal to accept all the state's stimulus funding.

Asked if his "beyond the pale" comment implied a racial overtone to Sanford's remarks, Clyburn replied:

"I'm sure he would not say that, but how did he get to Zimbabwe? What took the man to Zimbabwe? Someone should ask him if that's really the best comparison. ... How can he compare this country's situation to Zimbabwe?"
It has nothing to do with race and Clyburn knows that but if he brings race into it, it takes the publics eyes off the disaster the stimulus is and how Sanford is upstaging the president and Congress by saying "thanks but no thanks" to the ill-conceived plan and money. This has become the standard ploy whenever criticizing Obama and Sanford is just the latest to be the target of this garbage.

But Sanford--shoring up his conservative street cred--answers exactly as one would hope when being accused of racism:

"Rep. Clyburn always plays the race card," shot back Sanford spokesman Joel Sawyer, who said his boss has also compared the stimulus to failed government policies in Germany and Argentina. "This policy will result in hyper-infaltion (sic). ... [Clyburn] is ripping off the people he purports to represent."
Exactly. The way you shut off a race-baiter is to point out the idiocy of there statement. Rep. Clyburn has been played superbly.

Pelosi: Economy So Bad, Unborn Unemployed

Sphere: Related Content

Nancy Pelosi is a national embarrassment. The one in line after Obama and Biden said this:

Usually I don't go for the personal attacks, but this lady is as dumb as a box of rocks. Yes, I know she misspoke but if it had been President Bush it would get endless play and the comedians would have a ball with it or as Prof. Reynolds noted, if it had been Gov. Palin, the media would have said it was more proof she was unqualified.

At least 60% of the Democrats in the House are more qualified than Pelosi and that's saying something because the majority of Congress on both sides is brain dead. Instead, they give us this blabbering idiot who stumbles trying to explain the most simple things.

This is a great time to be a blogger on the right thanks to San Fran Nan 0bama.

Where Your "Stimulus" Tax Dollars Are Going

Sphere: Related Content

Oh, the Dems are fat dumb and happy with the money they are looking to spend. Stimulus Watch is tracking some of the projects and it ain't pretty.

How about $450-million for a new police admin building. I'm in the construction business and there's no way in hell any building could cost that much. I recently was working on a project that involved building two inner city schools. Total cost is about $40-million.

What about dog parks? Three of them to be precise. One in Chula Vista, CA, a town I lived in for four years and two more in Lewiston, ME. Combined cost for both: $550,000. Jobs created: 9. That's $61,000 per job. I could do all three parks with union labor for $50K.

How about a cool $500-million for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Authority. I go to Sac regularly, they could rebuild the entire city for that price and even include Eldorado Hills and Rio Lindo. They expect to create 100 jobs at $5-million a piece.

I agree with some of the selections including a Port of Anchorage, AK expansion that is reportedly going to cost $75-million and create between 1000-1500 jobs. That's a project that will keep on supplying decent jobs and help recovery. I guarantee you Gov. Palin will keep that in check.

I also think this is a good project and is what was in the original aim of the stimulus: A Hartford, CT infrastructure project.

I also like the light rail project slated for Newark as NJ needs some construction but anyone who reads of the scumbag politicians in North Jersey as a whole and Newark in particular knows that nearly $700-million thrown around will lead to enormous corruption. Still, 20,000 jobs would be a boon to the region.

There's an awful lot of pork in this bill and hopefully the GOP continues to play hardball and weeds it out.

Stimulus Bill Passes 244-188

Sphere: Related Content

Republicans were unified:

The House of Representatives just approved the estimated $819 billion economic stimulus plan favored by President Obama. The vote was 244 in favor to 188 against.
All 178 Republican members voted against the plan, according to the chart that C-SPAN was updating.

The Senate is expected to vote on its version -- which is likely to cost more -- within days.
Now maybe the GOP will see that conservative principles would have kept them at least nearer in seats. Instead, they spent and spent and chowed down on earmarks. We're stuck with this piece of shit bill that will bankrupt us for a generation and most-likely won't work.

New Jersey will receive the following:

Highways and Bridges: $777.8 million

Mass Transit: $334 million

Wastewater Treatment and Sewers: $237.2 million

Heat Aid: $37.9 million

Schools Modernization: $419.7 million

Pell Grants: $502.8 million
Not nearly enough when compared to other east coast states. To put it in perspective, the NJ School Development Authority allotted $2.3-billion for school construction this year.

Congressional Republicans fought hard to excise any pork they could out of the bill but with no numbers they have no strength. Nancy Pelosi will crow and we'll have to watch her up on the podium with that botox face and shit-eating grin but we deserve it for straying away from Reaganism.

More later.

Rangel Probe About What You'd Expect

Sphere: Related Content

That is, it's not a probe at all:

Nobody's home at the House ethics committee that's supposed to be investigating Rep. Charles Rangel.

The panel created on Sept. 24 to probe the Harlem Democrat's alleged ethical lapses has been virtually disbanded, after meeting only twice in four months on the matter, The Post has learned.

Of the four congressmen named to look into the powerful Ways and Means Committee chairman, only one remains - Alabama Republican Jo Bonner. The three others left the Rangel probe last month when they were "rotated" off the 10-member Committee on Standards of Official Conduct.
Hey, who can blame Rangel? The President is pushing for a tax cheat to become Treasury Secretary--the head of the IRS--and is pushing for another man to become AG who had some super shady dealings under the Clinton administration and was instrumental in pardoning terrorists.

Rangel just bided his time and knew that he had to blow off a few questions here and there and come about February, he'll be in the clear.

Hope and change my friends, hope and change.

House Goes Far Left: Dingell Ousted By Waxman

Sphere: Related Content

A stunner to say the least but not completely unexpected:

California Rep. Henry A. Waxman on Thursday officially dethroned longtime Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell, upending a seniority system that has governed Democratic politics in the House for decades.

In a secret ballot vote in the Cannon Caucus Room, House Democrats ratified an earlier decision by the Steering and Policy Committee to replace the 82-year-old Dingell with his 69-year-old rival. The vote was 137-122 in favor of Waxman.

The ascension of Waxman, a wily environmentalist, recasts a committee that Dingell has chaired since 1981 with an eye toward protecting the domestic auto industry in his native Michigan. The Energy and Commerce Committee has principal jurisdiction over many of President-elect Barack Obama's top legislative priorities, including energy, the environment and health care.

And away we go. The single strangest looking dude in Congress is going to push through hardcore environmental regulations on every industry. It shows just how much Congress thinks of the auto industry by snubbing them today in the bailout request and then smacking their main man and biggest advocate in a major committee who represented that industry.

It's a new world folks and one that will be run by the likes of Rep. Henry Waxman. Lord help us.

Myers Looking Good

Chris Myers currently holds a 12% advantage with 27% reporting.

This should be a GOP hold.

Lost a seat in NM.

Dems pick up four seats.

Chris Myers for Congress

Sphere: Related Content

In what is shaping up as a dogfight, Chris Myers is battling John Adler for the seat being vacated by Rep. Jim Saxton.

This is an important one, folks. An Obama win and an increase in seats in the House means we need reliable conservatives who will act as a a bulwark against the liberal legislation Speaker Pelosi will try to ram through. This isn't a time for soft conservatism but for hard-nosed fighters who will stand up to Pelosi, Hoyer, Emanuel and Frank. Myers is that guy and a fellow decorated Navy vet to boot who served his country during the first Iraq War.

A perfect day is a Myers win, a Murtha loss and and a McCain win. Let's hope for all but at least two out of three.

Alright, here's the particulars:

Myers is up by a little over 1%; within the margin of error and a strong Obama turnout in Cherry Hill could spell disaster. Get out and vote Myers (I would say early and often but the Dems seem to have that locked up).

Background on the race here.

Latest on the candidates here.

Why We Need Chris Myers In Congress

Sphere: Related Content

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Rahm Emanuel, Christopher Dodd, Barney Frank...

A regular lineup of misguided legislators, hard core liberals and redistributionist's who want your tax dollars to pay for their misguided programs. Programs that will take years to undo once implemented.

We cannot lose Rep. Saxton's seat in Congress to another of this ilk like John Adler.

We need Chris Myers' experience, intellect and outsiders view to fight what will almost certainly be the greatest ideological battle since the Reagan Revolution.

The latest polls have Myers ahead by 3% but a large Obama turnout in Cherry Hill could put Adler over the top. Myers has fought this campaign without nearly the money Adler's had at his disposal but has done so by pointing out just how bad Adler will be for our district. Get out there and help push Myers over the top.

Clean Out Congress

Sphere: Related Content

I have a feeling that no one is quite understanding just how deeply the financial meltdown is affecting the average American. we all have our own views and could provide anecdotal evidence that people are pissed but the depth of anger in the aggregate is difficult to gauge.

More importantly, will this be a moment where the phrase "throw the bums out" actually may mean something? Who do people blame, President Bush, Congress, Wall Street, those who accepted subprime loans or a mixture of all of the above? From my experience, people are really upset with Congress and Wall Street and there's only one group we hold any sway over.

When one takes the time to look at what got us to where we are today, they have to start with legislation that was written as a quasi-entitlement program designed to force mortgage lenders to ease qualification requirements for low income people who would never have qualified for those loans under the standards existing at the time. As so often happens, the program morphed into a cash cow for many Clinton administration veterans who made untold millions running the government sponsored Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

At the same time, Wall Street greed turned those federally-backed loans into tradeable assets and dove head first into the a market that was built upon quicksand. Yes, these firms are culpable but they were playing within the rules and only expanded these risky investments simply because the government was backing them.

So we come back again to Congress.

This is affecting people in real-time and in many ways. The trickle down effect is devastating in scope with people losing real money on a daily basis. Most probably have no idea exactly how much they've lost and will not grasp the significance until they receive their 401K statements. Then we'll see outrage the likes of which have never been seen.

But will they turn their anger on incumbent politicians? Historically we have not, yet this is uncharted territory we're in.

Here's to hoping that the American electorate takes aim at Congress as a whole and votes out as many incumbents as possible. I don't care if they are Democrat or Republican, it's well-passed time to send a message unlike any time in this nation's history. Vote against the incumbent or if you can't stomach voting for their opponent, just don't vote in that race.

Rep. Christopher Shays Calls Congress Out

Sphere: Related Content

The financial meltdown begins and ends with three entities, the Democrats in the US Congress, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Rep. Christopher Shays (R-CT) asks that investigations begin forthwith and will certainly be rebuffed. The Dems know full-well that the hearing would show that they were in Freddie and Fannie's pockets and with elections only a month away, there's no way in hell Waxman allows this to proceed.

Exit questions: Is Henry Waxman the single oddest looking dude to ever serve in Congress and will America ever get the good sense to vote those responsible out?

Hat tip: Allahpundit
