Posting has been spotty at best at it's reflected in my traffic but more important things are happening and this blog is back burner for awhile.
Here's what's new in this crazy old world:
-Sarah Palin's new book Going Rogue is #1 at Barnes and Noble.
-The Patriot Act stopped the latest terror attack. Obama should say a prayer for Bush and Cheney every night before bed.
-Thanks for your service Beau Biden. I've been on a deployment and it's never easy on anyone.
-With everything going on in the world, why would the official White House blog think it smart to go after a TV host?
-SCOTUS takes on another gun case. The 2nd Amendment will be immensely more secure after the Roberts court gets through with all the cases. Good news.

Idiocy Runs Rampant on the Left and Right
Sphere: Related ContentThe hyperbole and rhetoric is flying like diarrhea from the mouths and keyboards on both sides of the political spectrum today.
First we have an elected representative going insane in front of our eyes:
“I would like to apologize,” he said. “I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this holocaust in America.”He invoked an event where 6,000,000 Jewish souls died with the ongoing battle for healthcare that will benefit no one but those in the country illegally. Sounds apt.
He was "apologizing" for this over the top statement where he accused us Republicans of wanting people to "die earlier", which spewed earlier:
Wake up Rep. Grayson, us GOP'ers don't want people to die earlier, we need the great unwashed to work in our sweatshops so it behooves us to keep them kicking a little longer. Oh, and Congressman, take your meds.
On the right we have the hyper-partisan Newsmax allowing a piece of filth written by some scrub calling for a coup against Obama by the military:
What happens if the generals Obama sent to win the Afghan war are told by this president (who now says, “I’m not interested in victory”) that they will be denied troops they must have to win? Do they follow orders they cannot carry out, consistent with their oath of duty? Do they resign en masse?Dude? Did he just say that? What a fucking idiot. The dude was such a moron they pulled the piece. Nice editing Newsmax, that would be why I never link to them.
Or do they soldier on, hoping the 2010 congressional elections will reverse the situation? Do they dare gamble the national survival on such political whims?
Anyone who imagines that those thoughts are not weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership is lost in a fool’s fog.
Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a “family intervention,” with some form of limited, shared responsibility?
Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars. Having bonded with his twin teleprompters, the president would be detailed for ceremonial speech-making.
We suffered four years of Carter (and 29-years of mindless drivel ever since) and survived as a nation. No intelligent person would ever even conceive of a coup unless the president eschews the Constitution as happened in Honduras. If that happens, all bets are off. We're not even remotely near that point either.
The Internet has been an amazing tool for spreading thoughtful ideas and creative political thinking. Unfortunately, that didn't happen today.

Roman Polanski Raped a Child, Liberals
Sphere: Related ContentHollywood and much of Europe is up in arms that the Swiss would arrest filmmaker Roman Polanski on an arrest warrant that is three decades old. Keep in mind that Polanski plead guilty and was awaiting sentencing for plying a 13-year old girl with a quaalude, raping her and then sodomizing her while she repeatedly said to stop. He was in his forties at the time.
Liberals and Europeans (but I'm redundant) are screaming that Polanski is a victim (and not disclosing their personal interests in the case). He's never been allowed back in America (the poor baby) and dude, he makes great movies that no one actually goes to see (but he's a genius).
We just got over the vile treatment afforded the death of Edward Kennedy who allowed a young woman to die while he did nothing and now we move on to the issue of a pedophile who performed oral and anal sex on a young girl (and someones daughter) just to get his jollies. Liberals actually have the temerity to defend both.
I will give credit where it's due to Kate Harding who writes for the uber liberal Salon however. I also give credit to some others who see this for what it is; the pursuit of a man who violated a teenager (although they all temper it with platitudes about liking Polanski films, yada, yada)
Is there any crime that liberals won't defend? Illegal immigration? Defend. Pedophilia? Ditto. Child prostitution proposals? Definitely. Defending the United States against terrorist's? Throw those who did so in jail!

Liberals Can't Have It Both Ways on Iran
Sphere: Related ContentIn the aftermath of 9/11, liberals and Democrats were quick to point out that it was Bush's responsibility because he had been in office for 8-months. They claimed this knowing full-well that the lawsuits pushed by Gore put the Bush transition team way behind when it came to filling key spots. They also brushed aside any conversation that Clinton had some responsibility when he allowed bin-Laden to escape capture or death. Bush had been in office long enough they driveled, he had sole responsibility.
My how times have changed.
Iran has copped to the fact that they have another nuclear facility and to underscore the point launched one of their long-range missiles; one capable of hitting Israel and parts of Europe. Now libs are claiming it was Bush's fault for allowing Iran to develop this second site under his watch.
So which is it? Obama has been in office longer than Bush had been on 9/11 and if we go by precedent that was set back then; it's Obama's responsibility for the Ahmadinejad regime's middle finger extension towards both the IAEA and the US.
You can't have it both ways.
The Iranian revelation comes a week after Obama screwed over Poland and the Czech Republic and bowed to Putin by taking away the missile shield that was designed to stop...Iranian missiles carrying nukes.
Perhaps Obama can talk with Ahmadinejad without preconditions and persuade him using his magnetic personality to give up their nuke ambitions. Or he can just ignore the situation and go to Denmark to lobby for his home town with Oprah. I wonder which one he'll select. I mean, one of our oldest allies is now threatened with annihilation and a Mid-East conflagration just became much more likelier but but that's no reason to put off a quick jaunt to Denmark now is it?

Hope & Change Not So Appealing to the Rest of the World
Sphere: Related ContentYou remember how the Obama approach to foreign policy was supposed to make the world a much happier place? Remember how we were scoffed at when we said he was idealistic at best and dangerously naive at worst when he said he speak to thugs like Ahmadinejad without preconditions?
Well, luxuriate in the schadenfreude me right wing, racist, terrorist friends:
European allies still refuse to send significantly more troops to Afghanistan. The Saudis basically ignored Mr. Obama’s request for concessions to Israel, while Israel rebuffed his demand to stop settlement expansion. North Korea defied him by testing a nuclear weapon. Japan elected a party less friendly to the United States. Cuba has done little to liberalize in response to modest relaxation of sanctions. India and China are resisting a climate change deal. And Russia rejected new sanctions against Iran’s nuclear program even as Mr. Obama heads into talks with Tehran. That from the left-wing beacon the NY Times. When they have to admit it, things are bad indeed.
They neglected to even mention Obama dissing Gordon Brown over the Lockerbie issue or Poland who The One screwed over (on a day equivalent to their 9/11) last week to appease Russia and received nothing and let us not forget the rest of the EU who aren't exactly feeling the love:
A growing rift between the US and Europe is overshadowing Tuesday’s United Nations climate change summit in New York, further damping hopes for a breakthrough at the Copenhagen talks in December. So what nations are overjoyed with the presidency of our man Barack? North Korea, Syria, Iran, Libya...
Connie Hedegaard, the Danish environment minister, lowered expectations, saying: “Things are looking difficult and too slow, that is the fact.”
The downgrading of expectations comes as relations between the US and Europe, which started the year of talks as allies, near breakdown.
...“So far, we thought the basic problem was the Chinese and the Indians. But now I think the problem appears to lie most clearly with the US,” a European Commission official said. Talks were “not going well”.
Damn, I just realized I linked to two NY Times pieces and they were both semi-critical of Nobama.

Obama Sells Out New Europe to Appease Putin
Sphere: Related ContentIt's official; Obama has destroyed any and all good will we have left in Europe.
First he sold out Gordon Brown over the Lockerbie bomber affair and now has made good on his promise to get rid of the missile shield in the Czech Republic and Poland:
The White House is scrapping a Bush-era plan for an Eastern European missile-defense shield, saying a redesigned defensive system would be cheaper, quicker and more effective against the threat from Iranian missiles.Obama's military team has become a crutch when it comes to foreign policy initiatives. He has a nice out by saying it was their idea to sell out two nations whose leaders expended enormous political capital in pushing for the shield in the first place.
"After an extensive process, I have approved the unanimous recommendations of my secretary of defense and my joint chiefs of staff to strengthen America's defenses against ballistic-missile attack," President Barack Obama said in an announcement Thursday morning.
So who benefits? Only the reddest son of a bitch in the region: Vlad Putin. His cronies are lining up to praise the president for his lapdog stance:
Russia on Thursday welcomed the news but said it saw no reason to offer concessions in return. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called the plan a "responsible move." He threatened last year to station tactical Iskander missiles on Poland's border if the U.S. system was deployed. That's great news you commie prick. Obama sells out two nations that languished under the thumb of Soviet oppression for decades. Bush didn't build the missile shield for protection against Iran as is often claimed, it was to let the Russians know that we are paying attention and their shoddily built weapons systems would be shot out of the sky if they got a little cagey. Obama just Lewinskied Putin in front of the entire world and will push wary nations back into the Russian sphere.
"We appreciate this responsible move by the U.S. president toward realizing our agreement,'' Mr. Medvedev said Thursday. "I am prepared to continue the dialogue."
Fitting it happened almost 71 years to the day that Neville Chamberlain brought "peace in our time" by selling out Czechoslovakia to Hitler in what has grown to become the very symbol of cowardly appeasement.
Update: In the bad timing department, Iran has the The Bomb. Thanks Obama.

Friday Night Videos--9/11 Edition
Sphere: Related ContentWe have some who wonder why we consider 9/11 a sacred day and a president who believes it should be a day of service instead of what it is; a day to remember 3,000 of our parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, friends and co-workers who were reduced to nothing more than ash by 19 Arab terrorists who were guided by their Muslim ideology.
I choose to remember to music as I've never found any situation that music failed in making a bad thing better.
Here are some video clips from the various concerts and events in the wake of 9/11.
We start with Bruce Springsteen in the WTC Benefit show to raise money for the families with My City of Ruins:
Next we have the Rolling Stones doing Salt of the Earth in front of, well, the salt of the eart; those men and women of the NYPD, FDNY and Port Authority Police who felt loss as much as anyone:
The great Stevie Wonder with Take 6:
And finally, Neil Young with Let's Roll in remembrance of Todd Beamer and his compadres who, along with Jeremy Glick and others showed what it is to be an American when threatened:
Always remember that we rose up from the ashes and our men and women of the military did what had to be done. God Bless.

I Will Always Remember...
Sphere: Related Content
I will always remember the sight of people jumping to their deaths instead of facing the hell of burning.
I will always remember the firefighters and police officers who died doing their job in the most trying of circumstances.
I will always remember the people who were forced to die at the hands of terrorists who hijacked their plane.
I will always remember those who chose to fight back on Flight 93.
I will always remember that it was not a "catastrophe" but
a planned operation that was aimed at killing as many of my fellow countrymen and women as possible.
I will always remember that they have every intention of doing it again.
I will always remember that some in this country believe a sitting president ordered it or let it happen.
I will always remember that we had a a president that did not allow it to happen again.
I will always remember what the Twin Towers looked like as I passed them on a daily basis.
I will always remember that nearly 3,000 men and women died there.
I will always remember that my brothers in arms have fought and died to kill those responsible and do everything to make sure it doesn't happen again.
I will always remember that there are those who want nothing more than for me to forget.
I will always remember the loathing I have for them for wanting me to do so.
I will always remember...

Pelosi Is Losing Congress
Sphere: Related Content
According to Drudge (see update below), Nancy Pelosi's lack of leadership and Obama's wishy-washy approach to the health care debate have led to the loss of 57 liberal Democratic representatives. Meanwhile, the strong showing of patriotic Americans at the townhall's has forced 44 moderates to reconsider their vote and come out as a no:
At least 44 more moderate Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record in opposition to the current health care bill in the House, a Hill source claims. Likewise, at least 57 liberal Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record saying they will vote against a health care bill without a strong public option. My congressman is among them in Rep. Adler who knows his victory last year over Chris Myers was simply because of the strong turn-out for Obama. After decades of Republican Jim Saxton, Adler has no choice but to obey his constituents and vote this fiscal monstrosity down.
Unless multiple Democrats flip on their stated position on health care, Speaker Pelosi lacks the votes to pass a bill through the House on the strength of Democrat votes alone.
Obama better give one hell of a speech tonight but those of us who pay attention to what Teleprompter boy says on a regular basis know he doesn't have the power of persuasion in him like the media said he did.
Good news if true and Drudge usually has good sources.

Update: Journalist claims that Drudge not relevant anymore because journalists don't find him "captivating" anymore. I'm sure the same is said of the once-proud NY Times by sane people. Wishful thinking by a man who wishes he had 0.0001% of the readers Drudge has.

Yeah, That Whole Socialized Medicine Thing's Working Out Well
Sphere: Related ContentFrance has been held up as the model country that we would want to imitate with our health care system. It seems to be working out real well:
PARIS (Reuters) - The French government is looking at ways to plug a gaping hole in its health care budget and may charge patients more for hospital stays, Budget Minister Eric Woerth said on Monday.Read it all, the system sounds, er, sound...or not. They've had a socialized system for decades and it still is in the red while Obama eschews all historical precedent and promises to make it revenue neutral. Oh, okay, I believe him.
France's health system is largely financed by the state and has been hailed as the best in the world by the World Health Organization. It is also one of the most costly and the government constantly struggles to control spending.
After a 4.4 billion euro ($6.31 billion) shortfall in the health budget in 2008, Woerth said he expected the deficit to hit 10 billion euros this year and 15 billion next, with the economic downturn denting social security contributions.
Historical precedent showed that FDR's spending policies actually prolonged the recession and Obama followed right in his footsteps. Countries such as Germany who didn't throw money at the recession and essentially into a black hole are coming out of the recession as we speak.
But San Fran Nan and the vile Harry Reid are going to pass it whether you and I want it or not and before you have a chance to know what's in it.
Update: In spite of the full-court press and probably because of the response our elected betters got at townhall meetings, the people ain't buying what Obama's selling.
This should make every single representative who has a "D" after his name think twice:

Obama Plants a Question While Speaking to Our Youth
Sphere: Related Content
No big deal except for one little bundle of joy asked The One:
"Why can't the United States have universal health coverage?"Of course, given that today was the first day of school after a long summer full of fun and given that the child is excited about seeing friends not seen in three months plus the excitement of a new teacher, I'm sure that the little one came up the question all by their lonesome and it couldn't have been a plant.
They didn't show it in my son's school so I don't have to do any deprogramming tonight with four hours of Fox News. That's great because he has homework.

Quote of the Day
Sphere: Related ContentOne hopes Obama reads the Telegraph:
The paper, which recommends that the US return to a more laissez-faire economic system rather than intervening further in activity, has been endorsed by Nobel laureate James Buchanan, who said: "We have learned some things from comparable experiences of the 1930s' Great Depression, perhaps enough to reduce the severity of the current contraction. But we have made no progress toward putting limits on political leaders, who act out their natural proclivities without any basic understanding of what makes capitalism work."That about sums up the Obamanomics team of Turbo Tax Timmy and the rest of the band of merry idiots:

The True Cost of Deficits
Sphere: Related ContentConservatives wailed everytime George W. Bush signed yet another bill that raised the deficit. Now we looking achingly back and miss the days when a billion dollars was considered a large sum.
Just what do the Obama-induced deficits really mean to us is explored by a man who should know:
David Walker sounds like a modern-day Paul Revere as he warns about the country's perilous future. "We suffer from a fiscal cancer," he tells a meeting of the National Taxpayers Union, the nation's oldest anti-tax lobby. "Our off balance sheet obligations associated with Social Security and Medicare put us in a $56 trillion financial hole—and that's before the recession was officially declared last year. America now owes more than Americans are worth —and the gap is growing!"Emphasis mine. $56-trillion? We are spending ourselves into a third-world economy where inflation will rise and the dollar become nearly worthless. A salary of $50,000 per year will be the equivalent of $35,000 if some estimations are to be believed.
His audience sits in rapt attention. A few years ago these antitax activists would have been polite but a tad restless listening to the former head of the Government Accountability Office, the nation's auditor-in-chief. Higher taxes is what hikes their blood pressure the most, but the profligate spending of the Bush and Obama administrations has put them in a mood to listen to this green-eyeshade Cassandra. "He's so unlike most politicians," says Sharron Angle, a former state legislator from Nevada, "his message is clear, detailed and with no varnish."
Double dip here we come and it's even scarier to think about after reading this piece in the WSJ.

Another summer gone and the kids are headed back to school tomorrow where they'll be subjected to propaganda to get the year started right. It's been a good summer albeit a cold one in these parts. Let's hope the winter is not the same.
Here's what's news:
-It's because all white people are racists as if you didn't already know that.
-Unions thought they had their greatest ally since FDR. They are going to go after every avenue to increase membership while doing nothing more than enriching their leadership and hurting American business.
-Thoughts on the Obama healthcare speech and Olympia Snowe (RINO-Me)
-So how's the stimulus and helping out with unemployment?

Obama Throws Britain and 180 Dead Americans Under the Bus
Sphere: Related ContentSupposedly, George W. Bush destroyed our goodwill with our allies to such an extreme that only a man as great as Obama could repair the damage. In the first seven months of his administration, he's alienated Poland, Honduras, Colombia, Canada and myriad others. The latest is Great Britain, our oldest and most loyal ally:
Downing Street has hit back at Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for attacking the decision to release the Lockerbie bomber.Gordon Brown has been left twisting in the wind by Obama and has finally decided to blow the whistle as he watches his political career go up in smoke while Obama trades him for political cover (whew...serious metaphor alert).
President Obama and the US Secretary of State fuelled a fierce American backlash against Britain, claiming Abdelbaset Al Megrahi should have been forced to serve out his jail sentence in Scotland – but a senior Whitehall aide said their reaction was ‘disingenuous’.
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.
The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.
‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.
‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.
Obama and Clinton were directly involved in a plan to release a man who was responsible for the deaths of 160 Americans solely to assist the Brits and Scots in obtaining oil contracts. By coming out and saying that Obama knew, the Brits are playing their last hand and going all in. For a nation with bonds as strong as those of the US and Britain to bluntly disclose the inner workings of a controversial deal is a first and the heat on Brown must be so severe he had no choice.
This could be as politically bad for Obama as the Van Jones fiasco and they have no cover and no excuse. Americans don't generally have the time or inclination to follow events like Whitewater and other money scandals but this is different; Obama was complicit in the release of a terrorist who murdered Americans, he was kept abreast of events and gave at least a wink and a nod as the events unfolded. Now he needs to deny knowledge and in doing so has caused great discomfort to a supposed friend. Americans can understand that and see it on a personal level as they may have had the same thing done to them by a friend.
Add Britain and the 180 dead Americans to the list of people Obama has thrown under the bus, which includes his grandmother, Rev. Wright, Father Pflager, Bill Ayers, Van Jones....
I'm guessing Tapper is the one who will ask Gibbs about this and I'm assuming that Gibbs will use the "privileged information between two governments" card. He'll downplay it but a concerted effort to bring this story to the fore will have the administration reeling just when they're trying to regain some momentum. This isn't politics, this is the simple fact that Obama allowed a murderer to be released and did nothing to intervene. That is inexcusable.

What the Van Jones Saga Tells Us About the Left
Sphere: Related ContentIf you get your news from the Internet and not the >NY Times, Washington Post or the networks, you were not the least bit surprised yesterday morning to wake and find that Obama's "Green Jobs Czar" has resigned amid a growing scandal. Left wing sites are chastising themselves for not responding more forcefully, which is amusing because they have stopped taking anything we on the right say seriously simply because they live in a bubble whereby they still think that America went from center-right to left wing and the clear evidence of that is in the win by Barack Obama, but I digress.
Anyway, we have a plethora of pundits and assorted lefties writing what have to be some of the lamest posts we've seen in awhile. Take this one from Carl Pope, the leader of the Sierra Club. Note that he uses all the buzzwords to make his point:
This was a lynch mob (racial reference) and, when it started forming a month ago, we didn't take it seriously enough. When I saw the first Glenn Beck (attack Beck) piece on Van Jones and the Apollo Alliance as the new vast left-wing conspiracy, I could not take it seriously. Silence enabled Fox (evil right-wing news) to keep pushing. The statements for which Jones apologized -- the reference to the right as "assholes" and saying that Bush was talking "like a crack-head" were such ordinary political discourse (minimizing the offenses)-- think Rahm Emmanuel, think Dick Cheney saying "fuck yourself" to Senator Leahy, think Tom Friedman dubbing Bush "the addict-in-chief" -- that I didn't understand why an apology was necessary; I assumed it would blow over.Cheney telling Leahy to fuck himself is probably typical discourse. However, Friedman calling Bush the "addict-in-chief" was not. It's just that to Pope, it seemed as if it were no big deal since other elements of the formerly fringe left were calling Bush a Nazi, comparing him to Hitler at every turn and blaming him for 9/11 ala Michael Moore. These charges--seen by normal folks as not only insane but another sign of the elitism of the left--were so widespread and normal in liberal circles; a place where I'm guessing Mr. Pope gets his news that they became normal. Many people outside of New York and San Francisco were outraged by the "truthers" and have not forgotten it. The fact that Van Jones signed a petition calling for an investigation and essentially blaming Bush for the attacks by terrorists was all that was needed to open the floodgates of criticism and lead to his ultimate dismissal. Normal people don't buy into the "Bush knew" meme but a good deal the left does so it's difficult for Mr. Pope to understand that outside of his coccoon, the very idea is repulsive to many. That and the fact that Pope doen't even list it as a reason for his departure when it was indeed the main reason says it all.
So the clueless liberal elites continue to kick and scratch like a girl while telling themselves they know the One True Way. Meanwhile, the folks in fly-over country that these same elites believed was theirs for the taking have seen liberal policies and have decided they really don't like them at all.
I can understand how liberals can be really mad; I mean they have a veto-proof majority in the Senate, a huge majority in the House, they have the White House and unfortunately for them, have no leadership in any of the aforementioned so they remain a flailing, rudderless mess while losing any goodwill they gained and possibly losing a gaggle of seats in the mid-terms.
Update: Go read Ace.
Update: The scum of the Internet show themselves to be even scummier than previously thought.

-Moveon.org jerkoff supporter bites off pinky of 65-year old anti-socialist medicine protester. Thank goodness Obamacare hasn't passed or the old fella would have had to wait three months to get it replaced.
-Obama "Green Jobs Czar" (whatever the hell that is) is a full-blown truther who believes Bush and Cheney were behind 9/11. This has got to be the most America-hatin' administration ever.
-Some dude with no arms is denied check cashing services because he lacks thumbs to provide a thumb print.
-The Brits do have a way with words, don't they?
-The lovely and eloquent Terri writes about events in Honduras and the shameful way the Obama folks have been treating another democracy.
-Our musical interlude this evening has us enjoying the excellent Rainbow with Ritchie Blackmore wailing and Joe Lynn Turner stretching his pipes and sporting painted on pants that were laughable then and remain so. An 80's flashback:

Everything's Backward in Americana My Way
Sphere: Related ContentAn interesting August, eh?
We've seen Obama's polling numbers tank quickly, real Americans put the feet of their elected leaders to the fire and get panned as "un-American" and "terrorists" for it and an economy that is still in a quagmire. We've seen a president ignore a war he supported while his signature issue has been essentially sunk by a poor bill written by the House and a Senate that is unsure how to proceed even though they have a veto-proof majority. They've become unhinged because of it.
As a conservative, I could not have even hoped Obama would tank so fast. Hope and change has been replaced by "what have we done"?
I'll leave it to Dexter, Noodles and the boys to say it for me:
