Thanksgiving is getting close. It seems like summer just ended.

Here's what's new:

-Any story that starts with "A Florida Man.." always ends up being epic. This dumb ass ran over himself at a strip club.

-President-elect Trump did a very presidential thing and called the family of the San Antonio Police officer shot by a thug whom snuck up on him. No word on whether Obama called or not.

-A NYC cab driver was arrested for plotting a Paris-style attack by running over people in Times Square.

-I'm hoping the fact that my daughter is going to a southern school means she will be able to be a free thinker because anything north of Virginia tends to be as liberals as this. I know we have outbreaks of  insane liberalism at southern schools but I think there's at least a balance.

In the wake of Donald Trump's victory, some students and administrators at Loyola University Maryland aren't feeling very American anymore. As a result, they put pressure on the student-government to change its "America" theme party for seniors to something less "alienating, divisive, and harmful."

Um, if you don't want to go to an America-themed party, don't go. If you don't want to live in America, leave. No one is holding you back. 

-Some Democrats may just be opening their eyes to why they failed spectacularly. I'm guessing they will ruminate on this, some will see the light and then they will go back to calling everyone racist and advocating for genderless bathrooms, which put us where we are.

-The US navy had designed the best ships in the world. technologically, mechanically and from a utility standpoint, we've been great This is one that may not live up to the standard. Admiral Zumwalt is probably rolling over in his grave right about now.

Sunday Evening News & Notes

The Eagles won in a nice come-from-behind victory. Lost Avant and D. Jackson for who knows how long.

Here's what's new:

-Obama can't blame the screw-up of the party crashers on Bush even though he'd love to. No, he'll let the USSS take the blame.

-The Swiss are a bunch of jingoistic, racist Islamophobes for trying to retain what is left of Swiss culture. Good for them taking a stand to protect what remains of a great nation.

-4 police officers are targeted and killed in an incident in Washington state. My prayers to their families.

-Tiger Woods has always been a man I admired. He never listened to the Sharpton's of the world who dearly wanted him to speak out on race issues. He has been one of the three best athletes I've had the pleasure of watching. I have always felt that athletes should be left alone off the field unless they choose to be in the spotlight--something Woods' has not done.

That said; he has to get out in front of this and quick. I think he's protecting his wife but talk to the police, dude.

-Sarah Palin is still packing them in and the majority are women.

-Vote early and vote often!

Obama's Really Bad Week

It happens with all presidents eventually but usually not in so stunning a fashion.

President Obama got hit with a barrage of bad news this week, some of his own making. Let's review, shall we?

Henry Louis Gates Jr., historian and Director of the W. E. B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University was locked out of his house so he did what most of us would do, he tried to get in by pushing on the door or other means. Unfortunately for him, a neighbor called police suspecting a break-in. Police arrived and did what police are supposed to do, ask questions to try to assert the facts. Professor Gates got belligerent and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct, the charges were dropped.

Now had this been a simple case of a mistaken arrest, it would have been written up in the back pages of the local papers but Gates is a friend of Obama. During Obama's press conference earlier in the week, he was asked about the issue and said:

"I don’t know – not having been there and not seeing all the facts – what role race played in that, but I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two that he Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home,"

Prefacing it by saying he didn't have the facts and then judging that the police acted "stupidly" showed Obama reverting back to his community organizer days where every thing that happens in a neighborhood is the fault of the police. They are always wrong until proven right and even then they are blamed.

Unfortunately for Obama, most Americans either know cops, have one in their family or have generally good feelings toward them. Add to that the cop in question has a sterling record including teaching a course on racial profiling. Add to that that his colleagues, peers and bosses all supported him without question and you have a full-blown case of racial politics writ large that engulfed the administrations message on health care that the presser was supposed to address. The alleged post-racial world is not so much as this issued showed quite with crystal clarity.

Obama also saw his approval drop under 50% this week for the first time. His mealy-mouthed words on the stimulus and the economy have come back to haunt him as people are hurting and not seeing the fruits of Obama's spending.

Finally, we have Afghanistan. The war against the Taliban and al-Qaeda is ratcheting up and more troops have been injured or killed of late. Obama hasn't said word one about the ongoing war, a war he owns after using it to pummel Bush for going to Iraq. He's not said good, bad or indifferent. He's said absolutely nothing of consequence and by doing so has pushed our men and women in uniform to the back burner. An egregious action by a sitting president.

Mumia Abu-Jamal Still Guilty as Hell

The Supreme Court has decided not to grant a new trial for the man who murdered Philly police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981:

The Supreme Court said Monday it will not take up Abu-Jamal's claims that prosecutors improperly excluded blacks from the jury that convicted him of murdering Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner.

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia upheld Abu-Jamal's conviction but held his death sentence invalid. The appeals court said it would not second-guess state court rulings rejecting Abu-Jamal's claims of bias in the composition of the jury.

The high court considered only the conviction. The state has separately asked the court to reinstate the death sentence, but the justices have not acted on that request.

The French will think us so barbaric as they named a street after the scumbag. Well, maybe Obama can apologize for this too since his whole trip has been putting down America and praising the Europeans anyway.

Mumia deserves to fry and the sooner the better. His cold-blooded shooting of Danny Faulkner was cowardly but the international attention and support he has received by lefty idiots like Mike Farrell, Harry Belafonte and Ed Asner has been downright repulsive.

This is a battle that has been going on for far too long and has too end soon. For the sake of Maureen Faulkner--Danny's widow--I hope it does.

Friday Night News & Notes

It's been a long week so I'm listening to the Allman Brothers, drinking a few amber bocks and checking out what's happening in the world.

Here's what's news:

-Does anyone think San Fran Nan Pelosi isn't shady?

-Congrats to the lucianne.com website: over 3,000,000 hits for the month of March. Obama has been very, very good to us on the right.

-Z-list actress says something about politics and no one even hears her.

-Bummer, I love to catch and eat crabs but it appears they feel and remember pain. Fortunately, they boil pretty quickly so they don't remember for long.

-That whole "green jobs" thing Obama has been pusing is absolute bullshit.

-Dumb bastard robs cop and police convention.

Gov. Rendell Suspends Paroles

Yes, there is other news happening that is flying below the radar.

This story grabbed my attention today:

Responding to mounting criticism of the judicial system after a paroled felon killed a Philadelphia police officer, Gov. Rendell yesterday ordered a halt to the release of parolees until an independent expert can conduct "a top-to-bottom review" of how the state releases violent offenders.

The assessment will be conducted by John S. Goldkamp, chairman of the Temple University Department of Criminal Justice, who Rendell tapped to review a system that each month paroles about 1,000 inmates out of a prison population of about 47,000.

The move came on the eve of today's funeral of Police Officer Patrick McDonald, 30, who was killed last Tuesday by Daniel Giddings, a recently paroled violent criminal.

In May, Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski was gunned down after he intercepted three men - all parolees with histories of violent crime - who had just robbed a bank.

This will not endear Rendell to the liberals who like the revolving door policy that our prison systems have become. This should be a no-brainer--you commit a violent crime, you serve your entire term. Instead, we allow these thugs out early for "good behavior" or some other such tripe. The parole board was almost as responsible for the deaths of Officers McDonald and Liczbinski than were the actual perpetrators.

Our police officers are doing a tough job and doing it well, why should we make it harder and more dangerous on them?

Well, the police have had enough and are targeting their anger at liberal, activist judges who make law from the bench:

"Our police officers are angry and they're outraged," John J. McNesby, president of the FOP's Lodge 5, said at a news conference attended by about 200 uniformed officers and police supporters.

McNesby called for an "all-out assault" on parole board members who prematurely release violent offenders and on judges who he said go easy on offenders charged with assaulting police officers. Lenient judges, McNesby said, would be targeted in the press, on billboards and in advertisements.

...Ramsey and McNesby singled out Municipal Court Judge Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde, who last week downgraded a felony aggravated-assault charge against a 19-year-old man accused of punching a police officer in the throat.

Frazier-Lyde reportedly made dismissive comments about crimes against police at the time she downgraded the charges, and then was upset with police when her comments were published in Friday's Philadelphia Daily News.

I would expect the jackals from the ACLU to file suit today attempting to block Rendell's action.
