Stupak Makes Deal With the Devil: Will Vote Yes

Sphere: Related Content

Rep. Stupak has been assured by the Obama administration that an executive order making public funding for abortion illegal will be signed once the bill is passed. The only hope now is for pro-abortion representatives to vote no because they wanted public abortion dollars to pay for abortions.

Either way, it's probably going to pass.

The dismantling of our Constitution and the nation continues apace.

More on Healthcare

Sphere: Related Content

The Dems plastered the CBO "deficit reduction" bullshit all over their sites and were dutifully followed by the MSM. The problem is that was all farce. Any right-minded person knows that spending trillions can't result in "deficit reduction" and that the Dem's played fast and loose with the numbers. Here's the proof:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Congressional budget scorekeepers say a Medicare fix that Democrats included in earlier versions of their health care bill would push it into the red.

The Congressional Budget Office said Friday that rolling back a programmed cut in Medicare fees to doctors would cost $208 billion over 10 years. If added back to the health care overhaul bill, it would wipe out all the deficit reduction, leaving the legislation $59 billion in the red.

The so-called doc fix was part of the original House bill. Because of its high cost, Democrats decided to pursue it separately. Republicans say the cost should not be ignored. Congress has usually waived the cuts to doctors year by year.
All smoke and mirrors used to plunge us into a chasm where government runs everything (Biden even admitted as much). Goodbye to the best healthcare in the world and goodbye to the best-trained and equipped doctors if this passes.

Healthcare D-Day Tomorrow

I've been entirely to busy with work to post anything but this is at the critical stage. To put it bluntly, America will be fundamentally changed in the next decade if Pelosi, Reid and Obama pull off this coup.

So where do we stand? As of this second, Pelosi has managed to get some wavering initial "no" votes to sell their souls and switch to "yes" effectively ending their careers at the alter of socialized medicine. According to Jim Hoft whose been following this like a hawk, the tally stands at 217 against versus 214 for. That will change as Rep. Stupak is holding a presser this morning and is expected to say that he and Speaker Botox came to an agreement on abortion language. If his bloc of anti-abortion Dems falls it's game over unless the pro-abortion advocates decide they don't like the amendment and vote no out of spite.

So...right now Pelosi's beating, cajoling, screaming and threatening her fellow Dems to push through a massive program that the majority of the country hates and gives tax-payer funded gifts to unions, the healthcare industry they've been berating and other noteworthy Dem supporters while tearing apart one sixth of the American economy.

If this were passed--especially with the "Slaughter Rule" usage--we'll definitely be referring to Rep. Boehner as Speaker come next year.

Thursday Night News and Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Busy as hell and pissed Villanova got whacked and goes into the tourney on a horrid streak. I'm betting Temple goes further. Fran Dunphy's team is pretty deep.

Here's what's new in the world:

-The healthcare fiasco continues with the American people repeatedly saying they don't want it, the Democrats inventing ways to ram it through and the GOP selectively releasing more and more info that will make the people hate it even more. Every time I thought it was dead it gets resurrected and drags on and on. Monday hopefully is the beginning of the end.

-Shocker! People a questioning the veracity of the Global Warming Swindle. Another coffin nail banged home. Here's the info and this from left-leaning Gallup:

-The GOP votes to ban all earmarks. Let's stick to it now, folks.

-It's hard to assess who Obama's worst cabinet pick was but Eric Holder would be one or one-a.

-Is there any demographic Obama hasn't lost in a little over a year?

-It might be the defining moment of Obama’s presidency … and he opposed it.

-George "Barking" Monbiot is apoplectic that us simpletons just don't get that climate change is important. It's complex science people!

Thoughts on DEMOCRAT Congressman Massa (D-NY)

Sphere: Related Content

Representative Massa turns out to be the most vile peoples representative of this--or any--Congress.

Some lowlights:

-He groped fellow officers and tried to "snorkle" at least one. Thanks for perpetuating the myth that the Navy is chock full of gays riding a Sullivanesque love boat. If he had been an enlisted man, he'd have been booted with a less than honorable or a dishonorable and probably done time at Leavenworth breaking big rocks into little ones on a rape charge. That is if he wasn't beaten down and thrown over the side.

-My second thought was how the hell did this guy escape scrutiny. He lived with five aides in a rental joint in DC where they seemed to have gotten busy regularly. I'm sure "snorkling" was a favored event after long grueling hours of listening to Henry Waxman drone on and on.

-Finally, he's a Democrat; a fact that has been blurred in this whole mess. He was against the healthcare bill because it wasn't socialist enough.

This guy is a scumbag of the first order and only won because the MSM wasn't about to dig into any lefties running in the 2008 elections. They failed dramatically on this douchebag.

Harry "Tin Ear" Reid Eases the Countries Fears

Words pretty much fail to describe the elitist a-holes piehole today on news that unemployment remained at 9.7% and another midsize town's worth of Americans lost their jobs:

I'm sure that the 8 million without jobs are feeling really good about that Speaker Douchebag.

Thursday Night News and Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Daylight savings time comes a week from from Sunday. I need the sun and need more of it so it's all good.

Here's what's news:

-Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg get together again to produce and direct The Pacific about the WWII campaign that stretched from New Guinea to Okinawa. If it's half as good as the epic Band of Brothers, it will be worth tuning in every week. Trailer below:

-Europe is going nuts. Socialism breeds dependency and dependency breed feelings of entitlement. An endless, destructive cycle. BTW, thanks for the link, Glenn.

-Great moments in socialized medicine. Note: The pictures are pretty nasty and disturbing.

-Pending home sales drop about as much as everyone expected but the headline writer. We aren't coming out of this for a a good while.

-Two GOP'ers are tilting at windmills but I love the effort. Why couldn't Republicans have done this when they, you know, had control?

Botox Pelosi Stressing Out

Sphere: Related Content

Old San Fran Nan just isn't handling the healthcare battle real well:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi got exasperated when asked at her weekly news conference about the unwillingness of some Democrats – including Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) – to support the health bill because of abortion language.

“Let me say this: This is not about abortion! This is a bill about providing quality, affordable health care for all Americans,” she said, more eager than ever to stay on message as her legacy becomes increasingly tied to what happens in the next few weeks.

The speaker had just talked about areas of disagreement between the House and Senate bills that are being worked on as leaders iron out legislative language for a comprehensive package that Congress can pass. But she omitted abortion.

“I will not have it turned into a debate on (abortion),” she said, when asked a follow-up question about Stupak. “Let me say it clearly: we all agree on the three following things. … One is there is no federal funding for abortion. That is the law of the land. It is not changed in this bill. There is no change in the access to abortion. No more or no less: It is abortion neutral in terms of access or diminution of access. And, third, we want to pass a health care bill.”
Take your Prozac, Madame Speaker.

Why is it not about abortion? According to liberals, everyone just loves abortion or as they call it "reproductive rights". If people love it so much, let's say it is about abortion and have a national discussion on that as well as healthcare that will destroy 1/6 of the US economy in a decade.

Pelosi is losing it and again proves she's the worst Speaker of the House in 50-years. She can't keep her people in line, butchered the Rangel replacement issue and is about to be played severely by Obama perhaps.

The stress would be showing on her face is there was actually enough loose skin to move.

7th Blogiversary (A Few Days Late)

Sphere: Related Content

Damn, seven years posting at this little old site. Thousands and thousands of posts (some good, some horrid, none erased) and quite a few great moments. I felt as if I had a little part in keeping up support for our troops when things were at the absolute worst in Iraq, rebutting the global warming zealots back when doing so was on a par with contradicting the word of Mohammed; or at least drawing a picture of him and publishing it and alerting the world to what Obama would bring to this great nation.

Seven years blogging is a millenia and when I started, it was pretty much equivalent to crude paintings on cave walls so the analogy is apt.

Anyway, as I do annually, I'd like to thank some of those who've linked to me and kept me doing this when I thought it was time to say screw it and bag it.

-Glenn Reynolds: The dude is the master. He links to shit that I am drawn to for some reason. I click and wonder why: electronics or sports gear at Amazon, some obscure news site or some scrub like me. The prof is still the best on the web and I hope he keeps at this for a long time. If there's ever a blog hall of fame--like the Rock and Roll HOF--it should be in Knoxville, TN. Hell, anywhere but Cleveland. I would say Glenn is not quite the Beatles but a mix of The Stones, The Clash, Black Sabbath, Spinal Tap, the Grateful Dead, Black Flag, Delbert McClinton, Madness with some Sublime thrown in. Thanks for the links over the years, Professor Reynolds.

-Tim Blair: His bullshit meter pegged at about an eleven when this global warming garbage started. Keep in mind, in Australia, they fell hard for it and it wasn't a theory but a daily deal, which cost the island nation billions. When the East Anglia e-mails were splattered across the web, I drank a few Victoria Bitter's (alright, ten or so) in Tim's honor because he was doing battle in a place where they bought in hook, line and sinker. Thanks Tim for the links over the years and I'm drinking one to your health as I write.

-Charles Johnson: I'm loathe to do this because he went way over the edge in Andrew Sullivanesque fashion. He once was a beacon but now is sadly a shell. Thanks anyway and please don't ever agree with me again.

-Terri: The lovely one who does this for the same reasons I do--a release and means to get out what you can't scream out at work. Thanks Terri.

-Lastly, to my beautiful wife of 19-years who abides me spending time waxing inanely about the days events. It helped when I got paid a year for doing so but now she just shakes her head and stands her ground when she thinks I'm essentially a blithering idiot...that would be most days.

Here's to another seven years and I hope they aren't still under the Obama administration.

Wednesday Night News & Notes

Not much posting lately but a new one below. Busy as hell and it's going to get worse with baseball starting as soon as this brutal winter that dropped about 80-some inches of global warming on our collective asses ends.

Anyway, here's the latest news:

-Nice party the Dem's have. Their main tax man is a tax cheat, a fact we've been talking about for years and now another esteemed male congressman was hitting on a male staffer. Pervert, hypocrites and liars are dictating the course of our country. Americana indeed.

-A push is on to put The Gipper on the $50 bill. I sure hope they don't trade that for healthcare passage.

-Obama owes Bush one on Iraq. BTW, has anyone heard any nes from Afghanistan? We are making headway and unfortunately our men and women are dying in the process. If Bush were still in office it would be front and center but with Nobama not so much.

-When even Michael Moore sours on the president, you know you've lost the fat, hypocritical, tax sponging demographic.

-Nancy Pelosi: Worst Speaker ever.

Obama to America: Go To Hell

Sphere: Related Content

The American people have said in no uncertain terms that they don't want any healthcare legislation or at the very least for them to start over and come up with a better idea. But Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid know better than us what we want. We want to pay higher taxes, we want to burden our kids with massive debt and we want an enormous entitlement program that will destroy the greatest healthcare system ever seen. Liberalism writ large. They are smarter than us, just ask them.

In spite of every poll, they are gonna ram this piece of shit through and we can't do a damn thing about it:

Sen. Tom Harkin told POLITICO that Senate Democratic leaders have decided to go the reconciliation route. The House, he said, will first pass the Senate bill after Senate leaders demonstrate to House leaders that they have the votes to pass reconciliation in the Senate.

Harkin made the comments after a meeting in Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office including Harkin and Sens. Baucus, Dodd, Durbin, Schumer and Murray.

When asked whether the leaders had made the decision, Durbin said: "We are moving ahead with a version of the health care reform bill that we believe has a good chance of passing both the House and the Senate."

He then put the onus on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to signal whether she can provide enough votes to pass the Senate bill, followed by a package of fixes through reconciliation.

"The first step is with Speaker Pelosi and so I will let her decide what it takes in the House," Durbin said.

Reconciliation "has always been an option. But she has to make her own decision on what it takes to enact this in the House," he added.
The Dem's have all but assured the GOP the House and probably the Senate. Republicans will run ads showing the solipsistic bastards subverting the system in an endless loop and every, single douchebag who voted for it will be hammered in the elections come November. It's not the Tea Party movement anymore, it's the left-centrist guy saying enough. The GOP has to make this viral and pound home the point that you will not have access to basic, quality care like we've become accustomed. Instead it will be rationed care on a scale that will make Canada and Britain look absolutely advanced in comparison.

This is not ramming through some garbage earmark, this is a death sentence for free market capitalism. They've taken the auto industry, beat the utilities into submission, are poised to regulate the banking system in ways that will make them red-headed step-children in world markets and sold our future to a future enemy in China. In other words; Obama has destroyed what it took 250-years to build in a single year.

It's time for a revolution the likes of which haven't been seen since 1776. The Tea Partiers have lit the fuse but if this bill is rammed down our throats I see serious repercussions I don't even want to consider. Mass civilian unrest could shake us in ways not witnessed since the 1960's.

Update: Let's take a ride in the way back machine and watch as The One says that he's never, ever gonna use the nuclear option he's about to use. Every thing Obama says has a sell by date:
