Here's what's new in the world:

-Apparently the Hamas explosives guru wasn't that careful around explosives.

-Trump and Mattis need to address this immediately. When half of the strike fighters can't fly due to money, they are nothing but expensive paperweights.

-The world is moving to the right. Le Pen, Brexit, Trump and now Temer in Brazil.

-The Iraqi army is leaving ISIS fighters bodies in the street to rot as a warning and lesson. No matter how far into the future we go, the middle east will always be tribal and vicious.

-Example #298,742 why Trump was elected.

-Did you know the Patriots winning was due to White Supremacy? Me neither but apparently the SJW's believe that to be the case. I watched the game and I saw quite a few black men playing in the white jerseys. Is it possibly because the Patriots field a majority white receiving corps? I don;t know, I guess I'm just not smart enough to see race issues everywhere and in everything. I just enjoyed watching a good game.

-China believes they have reached the point they could surpass the US for sea supremacy in the South China Sea. I'm guessing once Mattis gets the Navy back to a sharp edge, China will learn that they are not yet at that point.

-I'm by no stretch a Lady Gaga fan but her performance was excellent. I thought I'd miss it coming home from the party I was at but I saw it all and she killed. It ranked up there with Prince and Michael Jackson in my humble opinion.

Obama's Primary Legacy is the Complete Destruction of Race Relations

I truly felt that my kids generation was going to be the first post-racial generation in American history. The dream of MLK that people would be judged by the content of their character. was nigh. My kids were raised on rap and pop music, they attended schools where inclusiveness was preached and they have friends of all colors, creeds and religious beliefs. I guess a large part of that was the parenting of my wife and I plus the presence of "Uncle G", an African-American from inner city Philly in the kids lives.

Then we elected a Black man as president and that was it, we had achieved what MLK dreamed of and we could finally put our differences aside and not have the burden of race hanging over us. The Democrats had finally come around from their KKK and Jim Crow days and it was a new day.

Except it wasn't. It never came to be because if that did indeed happen, African-Americans could no longer claim victim status and more importantly, Barack Obama believed deeply that Blacks were owed something from White America and the debt needed to be paid. Yet, instead of being a leader and beacon to African-Americans, he drove home the victim card harder. Instead of saying that there is a major problem in the black community with drugs, family unity, teen pregnancy and illiteracy he opted to blame white America for the current state of affairs. This drove a further wedge between us and destroyed the idea that we are more alike than different.

His greatest mistake was not leading in the area of police relations with the Black community. If Obama had been a true leader, he would've struck a conciliatory tone and brought the people and the police together to talk instead of do the very worst thing...nothing. Ferguson could've been nipped in the bud if Obama had just said something--anything but he remained silent. From Baltimore through all the others his silence meant agreement and it has led to disastrous results. But perhaps that was the goal, Black Lives Matter--supported by hard left-wing supporters was the end game maybe.

And liberals in general haven't helped at all. The liberal mindset is that every conservative is a racist and there's no way their collective minds can be changed. The fact that it is patently false means nothing.

Long after Obamacare is forgotten and the rest of his actions are a distant memory, the one thing that will stand out the most is that he not only set race relations back but also took them in a dangerous direction that we may never recover from. Things are so bad we've come to this:

A Complete Repudiation of the Left

In the next two years or so we will see a lot written about this election. Much of it will be written about Hillary with people in her campaign writing tell-alls and Robbie Mook and Jennifer Palmieri writing books to make them look better after a disastrous campaign. They will blame (in no particular order) Comey, Russia, Bernie Sanders, the media, Obama, the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (TM), fake news, voter fraud and a plethora of other BS. What they will not blame is the thing that they can never admit--it was their ideology thrust on the country over the last 8 years that was the real reason they have been shunted to the hinterlands. To admit that would mean to admit their entire paradigm is false and a lie.

During the Obama years we've seen the following:

Obamacare: an ill-conceived scheme that gave government control over 1/6 of the economy and had no chance of succeeding. Instead of working with the GOP, they rammed it down the countries throat to the point we actually had the Speaker of the House say this:





Does anyone outside of DC or NYC actually think that's the right way to handle such critical legislation? No, evidently not. Americans wanted a discussion and Democrats just wanted to pass anything. The GOP did not cast a single vote for the bill and then we watched as the exchanges were botched, we lost our doctors, paid way more for worse coverage and the very people needed to prop it up ran away from it.

The Apology Tour: This was one event liberals really never comprehended. To everyone but the most ideologically left zealots America is unique and special. We are the greatest country on the planet and that's as ingrained in the American psyche as anything. To watch a sitting president bow to every despot and apologize for past actions was just too much to handle. Yes, Obama was re-elected after but there were other factors at work as well including a bad GOP candidate and the fear of being labeled racist. But very few actions by Obama were as detested as his groveling on the world stage. America doesn't do that. Liberals believe very deeply that American actions over the last 50 years have been bad for the world versus good. They do not believe in American exceptionalism but believe the exact opposite.

Race Relations: Liberals at their very core believe America to be racist. It's not even a question to them. From the very beginning of his first term Obama made it clear that he was African-American first and American second. It started with the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry gates--an African-American who couldn't get the door to his house open and when he appeared to be breaking in, police were called. The responding officer allegedly had an altercation and the professor was arrested on disorderly conduct charges. Without all the facts, Obama jumped into the fray:

"I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that. But I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home, and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there's a long history in this country of African Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately." 

His commenting on the event was a clear sign that racial healing was not going to be a strong part of his administration. It just expanded from there eventually hitting a tipping point with Ferguson and the false claim of "hands up, don't shoot". The fact that the words were never spoken was immaterial, it was a rallying cry. The hoax was perpetrated by CNN and others:

Suddenly, all white Americans who did not believe the story or ever questioned it's veracity were labeled racist. A moment known as Black Lives Matter eventually rose out of the incident. Separate event happened in NYC and Baltimore and the media dutifully reported that it was white cops killing unarmed black men when in some cases it was a black cop and the suspect had a weapon. Americans who followed the events were essentially silenced from speaking the truth.  It became clear that white Americans were being excluded from the events in their country. They were scorned by the media and left to wonder whether or not they actually are racist. The fact that they work, socialize and are friends with black and Hispanic people was beside the point.

The Culture Wars: Americans in the aggregate have ceded the culture wars to the left. Gay unions became acceptable, abortion is not nearly the issue it once was except to strong supporters on either side and other issues that conservative fought against for decades became normalized. But liberals couldn't just accept victory and had to keep pushing. It all came to a head when they demanded that bathroom being open to all based on what they identified themselves as that day. When sane people pointed out that this is a major safety concern to us they screamed us down as bigots and homophobes.

Immigration: Americans have had enough of unchecked immigration. The left kept pushing for more and more rights for those who have none in this country. The right to vote, sanctuary cities where those who were already criminals were protected from the federal government and the high instances of crime perpetrated by illegals was too much. Kate Steinle being murdered by an illegal who had been arrested before and should never had even been in the country was enough. When we debated the point we were labeled xenophobic or racist. When we pointed out that ISIS or al-Qaeda can easily traverse the border, we were called Islamophobic and we should just shut the hell up.

Terrorism: This was an enormous part of the equation that ultimately led to Hillary losing and the rise of Trump. The Fort Hood jihadi attack was labeled "workplace violence". A car bomb in NYC, the Boston Marathon bombing and numerous other instances of blatant Islamic terrorism were labeled as "shootings" or "bombings" but never labeled as terrorism. And worse yet, every time an attack occurred, the media and liberals all hoped it was a white man killing minorities but once it became clear it was jihadism, they immediately called for calm and urged that not all Muslims be blamed. The exact opposite happened when a truly deranged white kid attacked a black church and it was blamed on every white person in America. San Bernardino, Orlando and Dallas were treated as normal crimes, not terrorism. When those of us said that this is a concern and something needs to be done, we were scoffed at and called Islamophobes.

Global Warming: This is a bigger repudiation of leftist ideology than anything else. Since the 1990's, the media and left have been pushing global warming as a major issue. Hell, as recently as last June John Kerry labeled it a more dangerous concern than terrorism. Whenever those of us who are skeptical want to debate it we get slammed with the popular "it's settled science" or the erroneous "97% of scientists agree..." bullshit. If you want to spend billions of dollars on a "problem" we at least want the problem identified and the actions expected to be taken.

These things singularly are not that big. These things taken in their entirety is the reason we now have President-Elect Trump. Large sectors of this country have been shoved aside and left out of the American Dream. Obamacare forced their hours from full-time to part-time. Trade agreements have left them jobless when the factories closed. An entire industry that was provided work for generations  was wiped out in the war on coal. The standard of living for millions was reduced and for the first time people had less hope their children would do better than they did. When these very people spoke out and asked why they were ridiculed and called every "ist" in the liberal lexicon.

The entire leftist ideology was put on trial in this election and it lost. Not by much as the country was essentially split but things that liberal hold very dear were repudiated on November 8. They will either do some soul-searching and realize that they have no appeal to half the nation or they will continue with their usual arrogant, elitist attitudes and lose again. I'm betting on the latter.

Man Who Has Spent 8 Years Dividing People Rails Against Division

ATHENS — President Obama warned Tuesday that Americans and people around the world “are going to have to guard against a rise in a crude sort of nationalism, or ethnic identity, or tribalism” taking root amid the populist movements that are gaining currency around the world.

Ethnic identity? I know that was a veiled slap at white people yet no president in my lifetime has done more to divide the nation along ethnic and racial lines than Obama. The nation elected a black man in 2008, we turned the corner, race no longer meant anything. We were all equal and there was a feeling of hope. 

In the interim between then and now we have white privilege being thrown at all white people, an organization called Black Lives Matter that is stirring the racial pot like no one since the sixties and racial minorities actually segregating themselves at colleges and universities. 

It started when Obama intervened in the arrest of a black Boston professor where he called out the white policeman. That led to the "beer summit" which did nothing. It continued with arch race-baiter Al Sharpton being invited to the visit with Obama numerous times (while owing $4.5-million in back taxes) and continued on to where we are now. 

Every time Obama had the opportunity to say something, anything to quell the anger he opted not to. Hillary did the same by not even seeking support of the police during her campaign to avoid irritating BLM. 

Obama was the master manipulator when it came to all things race. While not doing so overtly that often, his surrogates pulled the race card each and every day on each and every person who spoke out against his policies. 

Obama will never understand just as Hillary will not: Trump won because of the unbelievable way they stressed race in everything. Most white people were past the race thing and moved on. But the business of racism would've suffered and people like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would have had to get real jobs and get out the victim game. 

So here we are with more hatred because of what this president has wrought and he has the balls to rail against ethnic identity. What a shame, he had the opportunity to move race relations to a level never seen in the US and he chose to go backwards and fight the battle of the 60's and 70's not as MLK did but as the other more radical leaders did. 

Out With The Old & In With The New...Thank God

2015 was a strange year in the world.

Looking back, some weird shit happened:

• A former Olympic gold medal decathlete identified as a woman, got a show for doing so, acknowledged that he was also a republican, said he wants to adopt a baby and then got into a verbal war with another self-identified tranny who gave away some of the most damaging secrets ever disclosed. Essentially; two dudes fighting over who is more woman. Amazingly, one was named Woman of the Year for his "bravery". This, of course, left out true women heroes such as Kurdish women fighting for their homeland, a young Pashtun woman who was shot in the head for advocating education for other women continuing her fight and numerous other woman in countless other hellholes fighting for the right to breathe and not the right to chose their gender. 
• The whitest woman in America was exposed by her parents as, well, the whitest woman in America. This was problematic for her because she was a leader in the NAACP and a teacher of African Studies at a college. Liberals lined up to take the side of the white woman against black people who were offended of having their racial identity stolen for financial gain. 
• A former spokesman for a major fast food chain was found to be a pedophile and sentenced to prison. Jared Fogel was intertwined with Subway for a decade and somehow, they didn't suffer when their public face was convicted of sex crimes with children. 
• Bill Cosby was identified as a serial rapist and was subsequently arrested for sexual assault. Rarely has a public figure gone from being so beloved to being rejected so fast. 
• Another major terror attack occurred on US soil and was actually called a terror attack despite the best efforts of the media. While Fort Hood and others were definitive terror attacks--called "work place violence" by Obamatons-- it was much harder to mislabel an attack on a mall that the media followed intensely. We also saw the President of the US make a speech (standing up) from the Oval Office in which he pretended to take action but instead said nothing new. 
• Terrorism also remained a major issue around the world with an attack in Paris that led to millions of people overlaying their Facebook avi with the French flag in solidarity. Alas, not so many did it when America was attacked but I digress. So 2015 became the year that the French looked stronger and more decisive on the world stage than did America.
• The void left by American leadership led to Russia becoming a super power wannabe again. Hard core Americans actually wished we had a leader who led as well as a former Soviet KGB member. 
• Obama and John Kerry pushed a disastrous treaty that will allow Iran to have nukes in a little more than a decade, released $150 billion to them to continue their proxy wars and was backed up by threats and snooping on allies...
• Well, former allies. 2015 was the year that Obama went to war against Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel. He demeaned the leader, sent operatives to agitate against him in an election and essentially shunned them from in front of the world all so he could say he made a deal with Iran and cement his "legacy". 
• 2015 was the year of "trigger warnings", "safe spaces" and the year America learned exactly what we've produced by handing out participation trophies. We now have a country full of gender studies majors getting offended by "micro aggressions" and historic flags and a nation and media that played along further enabling them. 
• 2015 will be remembered as the year that political correctness jumped the shark. Being called a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, war mongering, hater became a badge of honor. Men and women who were sick of the breakdown in the US decided to stand up and start taking it back. They did so with humor and sarcasm because straight discourse is dead (or on life support). By belittling every new case we saw and laughing and pointing at the perpetrators, we've seen the pendulum start to swing back. 
• Which brings me to this: The leader for the Democratic party is the wife of a man accused of rape and sexual assault who had sex with his (much) subordinate intern and she is running on a platform of feminism. She broke myriad laws by mishandling secret information that would have landed the average person in a federal prison for years. Her opponent is a self-declared socialist whom has not the slightest clue about the economy but promises the world to the aforementioned participation trophy winning students. He also has some extreme, non-feminist views on women. So, we currently have two old white people on the Democratic ticket and they're both carrying heavy baggage. 
• And finally, 2015 was the year of Trump. He resonates with people no matter how inelegantly he says things--which is probably increasing the resonance. The man is vicious and immediate when attacked. Within minutes of being called out, he goes on the offensive and does not sugar coat what he says. The media try to take him down and he ridicules them. His own party leadership try to attack him and he goes right back at them ten-fold. The man wields the hashtag like it's a sword. Others rise and fall while Trump remains at the top. Any baggage on him has likely been printed already and he's flummoxed both parties. People may not agree on everything or even most of what he says but they will vote for him when the time comes. If it's him versus Hillary, he will win. He's not afraid to get down in the gutter Clintonistas live in and , in fact, seems comfortable going there. 

Well, that's a recap of 2015. I'm guessing 2016 will hold just as much and to a person who follows politics, we can only hope that to be the case.

Sunday Morning News & Notes

Some things I meant to get to earlier but didn't.

-The long list of Obama's broken promises. I'm surprised it fit in one column.

-Obama said that if Syria crossed his imaginary "red line", there would be consequences. It appears they not only crossed it but leapt over it with both feet while giving him the finger. I'm guessing he's going to choose the Clinton route and launch some missiles into Syrian army targets so he has cover and can say he did something. Plus, he'd have the extra added benefit of taking the heat off himself with all these scandals going on ala Clinton when the Monica Lewinsky scandal was...um...blowing up.

-Aside from the "fuck you" aspect of Muslim organizers of a march in DC selecting 9-11 as the day, I have other issues with this march. One being the fact that Muslim's have not been harassed as much as the media would want you to believe and they really have no grievance against treatment in the US. At the same time, the leaders of that community have never come out against any of the attacks from 9-11 to Nidal Hasan. While they as a group did not plan or participate in the attacks, groups like CAIR have not exactly condemned them either. A group of bikers intend to make this anniversary of the 9-11 attacks a memorable one by organizing a huge rally on the same day. I'm sure the DC police are thrilled. Via Katie Pavlich.

-What the hell is going on in San Diego? While politicians have always come from a lower breed of human, San Diego really seems to have scraped the bottom of the barrel. Granted, this latest charge is probably bull shit but for crying out loud, my former city is a mess.

-The state of Texas gives the victims of the Nidal Hasan jihadi attack what they've earned: the status of war combatants. This is a war and Hasan said exactly that in the court room.

-Delbert Belton was a war hero. He was brutally beaten to death by two young black men. This could be the real trigger for a debate on race in America where we discuss why violence is the norm in minority community. Why are places like Chicago, Detroit and Trenton witnessing huge spikes in black on black crime? Why is the African-American community suffering through immensely higher unemployment? These are just some of the questions we could discuss and make the death of Mr. Belton a watershed moment where we actually talked about the issue openly and honestly. Instead, the media and President Obama want nothing to do with it because when they talk about race, they would rather quote MLK III who is a divider than talk about solving the problems and making us united. The media and hate pimps like Al Sharpton want no dialogue or solutions because they make their money on perpetuating hate and poverty.

-Liberal and feminist icon Camille Paglia asks what exactly has Hillary done that she deserves to be president? When you've lost Ms. Paglia...

-While I find Juan Cole a pretty detestable person, he does have a point on the NSA cases including new info that NSA staffers were cyber stalking ex-girlfriends.

Happy MLK Day

Happy Monday and a special happy birthday to that great Republican Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King was that rarest of men, a man with a vision and the guts to see that vision come to reality. He sacrificed all for the good of the many and paid the ultimate price for it.

Sadly we have not yet got to the point that a man is judged by the content of his character but still the color of his skin. His goals and aims were achieved, as racism was greatly reduced (on all sides) and we now live in a country where you are free to do anything you wish. Except, it was taken way too far over the line where the color of your skin now dictates a lot of things: college acceptance, the amount of money that goes to our schools and the job you have or don't.

And why do I say MLK was a Republican? Because the forces of evil he was fighting were the entrenched Dixiecrats in the South led by Al Gore, Sr, William Fulbright, to a lesser extent JFK (who opposed the March on Washington and voted against Civil Right legislation) and that most hated Democrat Bull Connor.

According to my understanding, Doctor King wanted African-Americans to be equal to white Americans and in many respects we've gotten to that point, however many of the policies that were instituted in the name of civil rights ended up retarding the climb to equality. Welfare, food stamps and other "entitlement programs" have only caused urban America to whither and decay. We've now had three successive generations of failed liberal policies that have benefited no one and have left us with more poor and unemployed black men then ever before.

In America in 2013, we have an America where all are equal but where we are separate. This is not what was intended and it's not because of racism. Dr. King believed in us as one but his poorly qualified successors in the push for freedom made it all about us versus them and bastardized what MLK was saying.

I write this while an African-America is about to be inaugurated for a second term. I write this while charges of racism are hurled for even questioning what that president does while in office. Is this what MLK wanted? Is this the America he envisioned?

Doctor King had a dream and that dream was pissed on and twisted around by hucksters like Jesse Jackson who took the words of MLK and used them to not help those in need but to enrich themselves at the expense of those they purport to help.

Too bad Dr. King did not live.

Obama Tries to Slow Romney Momentum

Coming off a very successful convention, the Romney campaign seems to be building a little momentum at just the right time. Both Gallup and Rasmussen have him leading and the stated goal of humanizing Mitt seems to have worked with overflow crowds turning up to hear him.

Now is not the time to get cocky, though. The DNC convention starts this week and while they have a aged and all around lame lineup when compared to the GOP, they will be going hard at Romney and Ryan and the media will play it up with even less apprehension then normal.

Nothing is more dangerous than a cornered animal and Romney has essentially boxed Obama into that corner. his people will be scratching and spitting because they will be out of jobs, scorned as the most-inept administration ever if The One loses. Expect the race card to be tossed every minute and expect the lies to continue unabated.

You will hear about Paul Ryan's "exaggerations" and Romney's dog. You will hear about the evil Bain Capital and the jobs supposedly lost. You will hear angry old liberals driveling on about the evil GOP and the god-like man they are there to renominate. What you will not hear is anything about the economy, jobs and/or Afghanistan or Gitmo.

It will be a freak show and the American people will tune out or be turned off by it. This is Obama's chance to energize his base and turn moderates to his side but in the end I believe the hate, race-baiting and vitriol will only succeed in turning people against the administration.

And by the way, you are a racist for even reading bad things about Obama.

Mia Love Knocks It Out Of the Park

Of the many speeches we heard last night, the one that moved me the most was the one given by Mayor Mia Love of Utah. Christie did what was supposed to do and explained about hard choices and financial restraint. Ann Romney humanized her husband as was her role and Artur Davis, Nikki Haley and Ted Cruz  were highly effective.

But this speech by a young mayor of a smallish town was way more effective because she told a story that is inspirational, truly American and hopeful. Think about the true role models for young African-American women we have the pleasure of hearing in this convention: Love and Condi Rice. If you want to inspire a group that has been destroyed by and taken for granted by the Democratic Party you would have them listen to these two women. They've probably faced racism numerous times in their lives but instead of playing the victim card, they opted to become better than those who cry racism or the very racists they faced and become great. 

Imagine a poor young black girl in Camden, NJ. She's been exposed to violence, despair and the vicious cycle of government "assistance" for her entire life. Imagine she was given the chance to see and hear the speech below given by a proud American who happens to be black and imagine if she took the words to heart and chose the other path, the path of self-reliance and self betterment. That one person could be the catalyst of a radical change in a community that has been beaten down by programs designed to make one dependent. NBC was so frightened by this thought that they wouldn't even show it because if one little spark were allowed to ignite a flame, there may well be reason for hope and that hope would topple the decaying house of cards implemented by failed government policies going to back to at least LBJ. 

Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream that his children would be judged by the content of their character and that dream is alive. One example is below, the other speaks tonight. 

The Trayvon Martin Case and the MSM

The death of Trayvon Martin is a tragedy no matter how one looks at it. Regardless of how the facts may turn out, one man is dead, ones life is ruined and two families have been irreparably changed.

The last thing I wanted to see was Trayvon's life spelled out in the media. He was a 17-year old boy who said things teenagers say and write things teenagers write. My own son puts lyrics on his Facebook page that could be construed in a million different ways if the media was interested.

That said, if Sharpton and the racial zealots hadn't convicted Mr. Zimmerman in the court of public opinion without the facts being known, we'd not be where we are today. The media lynched Zimmerman and gave him no chance to speak his peace. The police had yet to finish their investigation before the NAACP, NBP and Jesse Jackson screamed racism and thus forced Zimmerman and his lawyer to launch their own media barrage.

Add to that the fact that going off half cocked as Sharpton did probably hurt Martin's case because their was a witness who said he saw Martin attacking Zimmerman and it may lend credence to Zimmerman's side.

Aside form that part of the case, the media has shown themselves to be insanely liberal at every step. When they realized they didn't have the classic white man kills black man story, they concocted a new race in America...the White Hispanic to fit their meme. Zimmerman's dad is white and his mother is Peruvian. Interesting, Obama's mom was white and his dad was Kenyan, is he a White African-American?

Anyway, the media's playbook was blown out of the water today when it was revealed that the Hispanic Zimmerman was not the gun-toting, evangelical, cracker clinger they wanted but was, in fact, a registered Democrat. I swear I heard a million liberal heads explode at that news.

This is definitely not over but as I wrote previously, this may hurt Obama is more ways then he knows.

The Tragic Trayvon Martin Death Will Hurt Obama

When Barack Obama was elected, we were told we were entering a new, post-racial America and that we would see an America where color didn't matter. America had atoned for her sins we were assured, we had elected a black man to the highest office in the land.

But then a funny thing happened; the black men and women who had created an industry based on racial politics were left out in the cold. There was money to be made in divisiveness and they were not going to let the election of some half-black man destroy what they had connived and schemed so hard to build up. You may recall the Jesse Jackson attack on Obama once he saw that the possibility of a black man getting elected was indeed very real. You see, if Obama became president, Jackson would be relegated to just another former candidate and his shakedown-based Rainbow Coalition would lose business.

And what about Al Sharpton? If race-baiting and race issues became a thing of the past, Sharpton would be out of work. The guy obviously has no other skills then to incite hatred and violence; anyone that has seen his MSNBC show is aware that the guy is a horrible talk show host on a little-watched network. Amazingly, the non-sensical Sharpton makes more sense then anyone else on the network, but I digress.

But they now have redemption. With the Trayvon Martin tragedy, Sharpton and Jackson now have their faces all over the news and are joined in most stories by the New Black Panther Party who haven't been seen since they intimidated voters in Philly in 2008. The death of the young man is not the issue to these men who have made their living on pushing hate and race. His death means that they are relevant again and can get their mugs on camera again. Trayvon Martin is just another body that they can climb upon to get more publicity for themselves because that's all they care about. The death of a black man at the hand of a Hispanic man with a white name isn't perfect, it would have to be a white guy with a name like Sean O'Grady or better yet, a Jew to make it the perfect situation for these media whores but a guy name Zimmerman will suit their purposes.

Anyway, is this what Obama really wants right now? Does he want race being the primary issue after we were told it no longer should be an issue? instead of stupid discussions about birth control and etch a sketch, we're talking about the New Black Panther Party issuing bounties on a man who has not even been arrested. Instead of Rick Santorum clips talking about his anti-gay marriage stance 24-7, we're instead seeing Jackson and Sharpton spread their special kind of hate.

Americans don't want to discuss race anymore. We had our fill in 2008 and--speaking as a white American--we settled the issue when Barack Obama took the oath of office. An African-American was elected president of the (at the time) most powerful nation on the planet. We've realized Dr. King's goal and we have true equality in this nation. A man representing a racial group that makes up 12% of the population is now POTUS. It took whites, Hispanics, Jews, Catholics, Muslims and evangelicals to elect him--in another word, Americans.

We don't need to be preached to anymore and that is exactly what is happening. This could go two ways: Obama could end up having his "Sister Soulja" moment and smack down Jackson and Sharpton--an option that could hurt him within certain blocs of his party--or he goes the other direction and it becomes a Henry Gates redux whereby Obama takes the political expedient side in spite of the facts. Unfortunately for Obama, a "Beer Summit" will not save him this time.

Believe me, the irony of Obama losing an election because the the old race baiters couldn't let an issue subside and let the legal system take its course is not lost on me even a little bit.

Trayvon Martin Case Re-ignites Racial Issues

The facts:

Trayvon Martin, a 17-year old black man, was walking home from a convenience store in Florida with some food and an iced tea. George Zimmerman, a hispanic man (as described by his own family) who served as a leader in a local neighborhood watch group came in contact with Mr. Martin and during an ensuing scuffle, Zimmerman fatally shot Martin. Zimmerman has not been arrested at this point and was within his rights in the state to carry the weapon.

We'll soon find out where the truth lies after the investigation is completed.

Until then, we'll have to deal with the media barrage and the nightly appearances of every single race-monger in the United States led by Al Sharpton. The issue has even drawn Obama in and promises to be a major issue for the next month as the media reports every single detail of this tragic story.

This is a horrific story and one I'm not sure anyone besides Sharpton and his cronies wanted politicized to the point it currently is. Politicizing any issue of this magnitude only hampers the investigation, makes people draw conclusions before examining all the evidence and sends people involved into cover-their -ass mode.

Yes, there are some disconcerting issues here about procedure and policy but time is needed to investigate and get to the facts. Facts are the only goal and the waters are getting so muddied that a proper examination of the facts may never be accomplished.

In the meantime, as a parent with a son nearly the same age as Trayvon, I say to the media and the race army led by Sharpton; let the investigation continue, justice will prevail. I feel for Trayvon's parents and would feel as they do about the inconsistencies. You have two minority men at the heart of the issue and tensions will elevate unless someone with gravitas takes a step back and says "let's wait, let's allow the investigation to proceed and see where it takes us".

Sadly, for a media whore like Al Sharpton, this will never happen because Sharpton is The Authority on All Things African-American.

Thursday Morning News and Notes

Happy Christmas Eve day. Not sure what the holiday sales numbers will look like but anecdotally I'd say they will be down. The big snow last week didn't help.

Anyway, here's what's news:

--How much do we hate Iran? So much that we're sending John Kerry over there to drone on and on. Perhaps they'll get so irritated by his incessant drivel they'll give up their nukes. At least he can't hurt the country too much while he's out of it but the Iranian protesters aren't too happy.

--Liberals are shocked that Obama is not the savior he said he was. We on the right spotted the smarminess and oily nature of Obama from the day he spoke at the 2004 convention. Again, savor the schadenfreude.

--Ezra Klein is a hack and always has been. He actually had the temerity to quote this BS by fellow hack David Weigel:

The problem is that Palin has put the political press in a submissive position, one in which the only information it prints about her comes from prepared statements or from Q&As with friendly interviewers. This isn’t something most politicians get away with, or would be allowed to get away with. But Palin has leveraged her celebrity — her ability to get ratings, the ardor of her fans and the bitterness of her critics — to win a truly unique relationship with the press. She is allowed to shape the public debate without actually engaging in it.

Both of these morons are too blinded by their partisanship to figure out that Barack Obama has never been questioned by a tough reporter. The media gave him a free ride that he still enjoys and one in which Sarah Palin could only dream about. Disingenuous scum; the both of them.

--The media continue to view Black Republicans with utter scorn and disbelief. Damon Dunn sums it up in a way that one wishes our party standard bearers would:

Amen. Note the scorn in the question "why Republican?"

Big college games today. I like Alabama today but would love to see a close game. I'd also like to see Texas get waxed by Nebraska setting up a fight to see which non-big conference team gets the nod. I hate the BCS and have said a thousand times we need a damn playoff system.

Anyway, here's what's new:

-Democratic Senator Max Baucus nominated his mistress for US attorney in Montana--the state he represents. Now that's audacity. DC needs an enema in 2010; I wonder if it's covered under Obamacare.

-Our first black president brought hope for the African-American community. That hope was short-lived. Could Obama actually suffer because blacks feel betrayed and don't get out and vote in large numbers as they did in 2008? Short answer: no. Like every other Democrat in history he'll start paying attention to that particular bloc around election time telling them how much better they have it and then forget about them again after the election is over.

-A letter written by Thomas Jefferson is found at the U of Delaware.

-Proof that "ism's" that get too big and start spewing lies eventually fail.

-Playing fast and loose with TARP money. Imagine what they'll do with the money for socialized medicine that will accrue for several years before implementation.

-Over at RCP, Obama's aggregate job approval is below 50%. An epic free fall. That would be lower but CBS had him at a ridiculous 53%, which is well above everyone else.

-Update: Yes, San Francisco is actually considering public sex tents because of the growing instances of, well, public sex. I'm against them on the off chance I ever find myself there and Nancy Pelosi feels like getting down with her husband. I would probably be forced to burn my eyes out after seeing that.

As I've said, time is lacking and I've had to cut back on some things. This blog has always been a hobby and has led me to money-making opportunities but still remains my bastion of sanity in Obamanation. I'll try to increase posting as time progresses.

Here's what's new in the world.

-Gregg Allman calls Rolling Stone magazine "tired" and says their piece on him "sucked". He takes aim at them for calling him a "redneck". Considering the Allman's were an integrated band before integration was cool, he's right, Rolling Stone has been garbage ever since PJ O'Rourke left. An altogether good interview before the Allmans played in Camden last night.

-Lost in all the empty rhetoric being thrown around by the media calling health care protesters everything from fascists to rednecks is the simple fact that it is a fundamental good for our elected representatives to be scared of the people who voted for them. They were elected to speak and legislate for us and have grown accustomed to the elitism that pervades the nation's capital. Democrats are feeling it now and the will of the electorate has forced them to take notice of what we as a nation want for our future. That future does not include socialized medicine.

-The race card is such a tired and lame excuse for failure but then again, David Paterson is tired and lame as a governor so there you go.

-Americans are living longer than ever thanks to the best health care system in the world. That would be the system Obama wants to break.

-Conservatives own Twitter according to, well, everyone. Witness this where Sarah Palin's Facebook page is enormously popular.

The "Beer Summit" took place this week with the man American's would least like to have a beer with--Joe Biden--in attendance. The event was hailed as some type of race conference but accomplished nothing except provide us this picture of how real people act and an elite acts:

In other news, the government "cash for clunkers" program has been such a smashing success it is bankrupt and the government has bungled it in epic fashion. This is a harbinger of Obamacare.

In The House, Speaker Pelosi continues to be her usual hypocritical self slamming health care companies as villains after taking their money.

Thursday Night News and Notes

Back from Florida. My son continues to play and play well. He threw a kid out stealing second today and his dad is a proud man.

Here's what else is happening:

-Sen. Barbara Boxer played racial politics and then got creamed by the head of the Black Chamber of Commerce for doing so.

-Joe Biden is the gift that keeps on giving. According to Joe, we need to become bankrupt to keep from becoming bankrupt. Gaffetastic:

“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said.

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.”

-The One is losing his cool with his core constituency, which would be the media.

-Nancy Pelosi's Congress was supposed to be the most ethical, bi-partisan and open ever. Ethics? Well, Murtha has made Randy Cunningham look like an amateur. Bi-partisan? Er, no.

Sotomayor, Racial Demagogues Take a Hit From SCOTUS

Merit-based promotions were proven to be the correct method of promoting people. You know, back in the day where hard work and education were actually rewarded by employers before the government stepped in and unconstitutionally instituted racial quotas.

In our brave, new post-partisan world where Obama was elected, race isn't supposed to matter anymore and 5 out of 9 justices said so today:

The Supreme Court's reversal Monday of a discrimination ruling involving a group of white Connecticut firefighters has provided critics of high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor with some fresh ammunition.

Republican senators and conservative groups contend that the justices' 5-4 ruling on Ricci vs. DeStefano represents a rebuke of Sotomayor's handling of the case. She was a member of a three-judge panel on the federal appeals court in New York that heard the action and sided against the white firefighters.

"This case will only raise more questions in the minds of the American people concerning Judge Sotomayor's commitment to treat each individual fairly and not as a member of a group," said Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Sotomayor is a fan of the justice is not blind camp and was rebuked by the right-thinking justices. Perhaps we'll finally put an end to the quotas debate once and for all.

The Voting Rights Act 45-Years Later

Yes, as has been pointed out in myriad studies and has been used by liberals for decades, we did have a serious race issue in the southern US in the early 1960's. Yes, we did need legislation to ensure that African-Americans were allowed to vote without interference and no, it was not passed because of men like Al Gore. Sr, Robert Byrd and other Dixiecrats but in spite of them. If not for the GOP, LBJ's legislation would have gone down to ignominious defeat.

That said, should the South continue to pay for the sins of the past?

The Southern states (Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas, as well as Alaska and Arizona) remain fully under the thumb of the federal government, and must get permission before making any change--no matter how minor--in voting procedures. Complying with the federal law cost those states and a handful of counties and municipalities across the country $1 billion in the past decade, one court filing estimates.

Today's arguments in the Supreme Court were incredibly compelling, and they got straight at this question, as raised by Chief Justice Roberts, to a lawyer defending the Act:

"Is it your position today that Southerners,” Roberts asked, “are more likely to discriminate than Northerners?"

The short answer to Chief Justice Robert's query is no.

Anyone who travels as extensively as I can tell you that the view of the South held by anyone from the North is stunted and remains in a pre-1965 mindset. People in the Northeast--especially liberals--believe that Bull Connor is still turning hoses on helpless blacks while southern governors are giving JFK the finger. They don't only think that white southerners are racist, they know they are.

To them I say, look around you. Then take a trip to Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, Mobile, Knoxville or Memphis and tell me they are more racist than Boston, Newark, Philly, New York, Washington, DC or Baltimore. You can't because it's not true.

In the South, whites and blacks live together in the same communities and their kids attend the same schools. They respect each other for the most part and consider themselves Georgians, Alabamans, Texans or Tennesseans. You can't say that about us up here on the eastern seaboard.

In the aforementioned northern cities, we have a segregation that is nearly as insidious as that which was imposed in the South in the forties and fifties. It's a self-imposed segregation whereby blacks live in run-down cities like Newark, NJ or Camden, NJ and whites live in Chatham, NJ or Villanova, PA. These are a completely different culture and one in which the races mix only when absolutely required. Go to Atlanta and you'll see blacks and whites in equal numbers at a restaurant but where do you see the same thing up north?

Northern liberals have deluded themselves into thinking they are better than their southern brethren but they are the leading practitioners of this neo-racism. They flock to enclaves of whiteness like SoHo and Society Hill where you see no blacks living at all. They know exactly what neighborhoods not to go into because they are "dangerous" (read: black). They talk of equal rights but don't live it. They scoff at southerners who say "sir" and "maam" and label them rednecks but tend to have infinitely more racist tendencies.

I agree with Obama and his media sycophants, let's have a frank discussion on race. It will be shut down once those who consider themselves non-racists are forced to see the facts as they truly are.
