Thursday Night News and Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Hey y'all.

I'm full of venom tonight as my boys I-pod was ripped off and so was my phone. Here's to hoping there's a special place in hell for thieves. Preferably where they have barbed implements jammed into orifices.

Anyway, here's what's going on:

-Our illustrious president was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for, well, nothing. Here's what he said in his acceptance speech that I have to give him props for:

I make this statement mindful of what Martin Luther King Jr. said in this same ceremony years ago: "Violence never brings permanent peace. It solves no social problem: it merely creates new and more complicated ones." As someone who stands here as a direct consequence of Dr. King's life work, I am living testimony to the moral force of non-violence. I know there's nothing weak -- nothing passive -- nothing naïve -- in the creed and lives of Gandhi and King.

But as a head of state sworn to protect and defend my nation, I cannot be guided by their examples alone. I face the world as it is, and cannot stand idle in the face of threats to the American people. For make no mistake: Evil does exist in the world. A non-violent movement could not have halted Hitler's armies. Negotiations cannot convince al Qaeda's leaders to lay down their arms. To say that force may sometimes be necessary is not a call to cynicism -- it is a recognition of history; the imperfections of man and the limits of reason.
"Evil does exist in the world"...many liberals don't ever comprehend that. Still a great many first person references but how does one make a speech for a an award one didn't deserve?

-Uganda has been swept up in a Muslim fervor and shariah law is the law of the land throughout much of the nation. The despotic regime is on the verge of passing legislation that would sentence homosexuals to death--all under the guise of stopping HIV. Libs went right for the blame the Evangelicals and neocons card but GOP representatives have come out against this vile action before Obama did.

-Oh Lord, we're putting the passage or failure of the healthcare fiasco in the hands of the Maine twins. Dude, Snowe better get her act together on this and not abandon who supported her.

-Got us a high-ranking al-Qaeda scumbag today. Not bin-Laden or Zawahiri but they have effectively been figureheads. The number three is the guy and hopefully it's who we targeted. Here's to hoping we slammed a Phoenix right into his left nostril. I'm so happy I want to be the first to say happy Nobel Peace Prize day!

-How pissed am I today? More pissed than Maynard was when he wrote this little ditty about LA washing into the Pacific and dreaming of swimming in Arizona Bay (NSFW or kids):

-A devsastating take-down of those that Lenin supposedly called "useful idiots". Academic apologist's have been whitewashing Soviet oppression for decades led by Katrina vanden Heuvel's rag The Nation.

-Abortion kills more African-American's than 7-leading causes of death for the general population. Margaret Sanger's eugenistic dream has become reality.

-American's feel pretty much like the est of the world about that Obama Nobel prize.

-Hmmmm. British nuke specialist dies in fall at UN building in Vienna. He was working on the Iranian situation.

Obama Wins Award Created By Inventor of TNT

Sphere: Related Content

This morning, the country awoke to word that The One won the Nobel Peace Prize and the first coherent thought was "what the fuck?" That was followed by "why?" and quickly followed by "did I just spit coffee all over myself when I heard the words Obama and Nobel in the same sentence?"

It's the equivalent of giving the Cy Young Award to Brad Lidge who was 0-8 with 11 blown saves this year or giving...actually, it's like giving the Cy Young to a double A pitcher who may be a good starter one day. It's a disgrace but then the Nobel Committee has essentially been a disgrace since they gave Yassir Arafat, Jimmy Carter and Al Gore one, which cheapened it to the point of getting one in a Cracker Jack box (update: The guys at Cold Fury beat me to this analogy by hours--nice work).

With regard to peace, Obama has increased troop levels in Afghanistan, kept Gitmo open, increased the chance for war by scrapping the anti-missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic and failing to stand up to Iran who may create more destabilization than the world has seen since WWII once they acquire nukes.

Organizations like those who award the Nobel as well as the UN have been proven a farce. Perhaps some conservative with money will create an award named after Ronald Reagan that actually means something as Reagan was instrumental in freeing millions from Soviet oppression and didn't receive a damn thing for it but scorn from the world community who awards garbage awards like the Nobel Peace Prize. Well, at least those who were freed appreciated it I guess.

When lefty hack papers like the New Statesmen print pix like the one below, you know there's no one in the world who buys this bullshit shoveled by the Nobel people.

Krugman Gets It Spectacularly Wrong Again

Sphere: Related Content

As usual, former Enron advisor and current New York Times hack Paul Krugman doesn't let facts stand in the way of a hyperventilating screed.

In todays Times, the economist points out that all of us on the right are affected by Gore Derangement Syndrome, a malady apparently akin to Bush Derangement Syndrome that has been epidemic on the left for the last 6+ years. Let's parse some of Krugman's thoughts and prove just how inane they are and see who is really deranged.

What is it about Mr. Gore that drives right-wingers insane?

Partly it’s a reaction to what happened in 2000, when the American people chose Mr. Gore but his opponent somehow ended up in the White House. Both the personality cult the right tried to build around President Bush and the often hysterical denigration of Mr. Gore were, I believe, largely motivated by the desire to expunge the stain of illegitimacy from the Bush administration.
Emphasis mine. Read that again, the Smartest Economist in America evidently hasn't read about the Electoral College, that new-fangled creation inserted into the Constitution that says that the man with the most electoral votes wins, not the one with the most popular votes. I guess Krugman was sick the day they taught that. I guess he also missed the story showing every conceivable recount would have shown Bush the winner. The "stain of illegitimacy" is a Krugman-made farce.

...The worst thing about Mr. Gore, from the conservative point of view, is that he keeps being right. In 1992, George H. W. Bush mocked him as the “ozone man,” but three years later the scientists who discovered the threat to the ozone layer won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. In 2002 he warned that if we invaded Iraq, “the resulting chaos could easily pose a far greater danger to the United States than we presently face from Saddam.” And so it has proved.
Wrong! Gore is in error many more times than he's right. In fact, in the last week a judge in Briatain found nine cases of his fact-bending in his mockumentary An Inconvenient Truth. That's Michael Morresque in playing fast and loose with facts. As for the scientists who discovered the hole in the ozone layer winning the Nobel, we've pretty much established that the Nobel has lost any esteem it once had when it was presented to Arafat, Carter and al-Baradei so using it to show authority means nothing. If you want to read what a true authority says about the farce of global warming than read this.

As for Iraq, the war has not ended and as I wrote in the previous post, things may well play out well and in the favor of the US.

Climate change is, however, harder to deal with than acid rain, because the causes are global. The sulfuric acid in America’s lakes mainly comes from coal burned in U.S. power plants, but the carbon dioxide in America’s air comes from coal and oil burned around the planet — and a ton of coal burned in China has the same effect on the future climate as a ton of coal burned here. So dealing with climate change not only requires new taxes or their equivalent; it also requires international negotiations in which the United States will have to give as well as get.
You see how Krugman just assumes that global warming is man-made? He can do so because his readers believe it as gospel. To global warmingists, there are two certainties in the world today: global warming is the result of mankind and our gas-guzzling ways (regardless of the fact that the earth has been warming and cooling for billions of years) and the US is the worst nation in the world when it comes to contributing to carbon in the atmosphere. Both of those things are so ingrained in the closed liberal mind that they will never change their collective thinking on the issue regardlessof the facts presented to them. Also note how the economist in Krugman comes out and he always advocates taxes to solve national and global ills despite the fact that they have been proven time and again to cause more problems than they cure. It's knee-jerk with the good ex-Enron advisor.

Which brings us to the biggest reason the right hates Mr. Gore: in his case the smear campaign has failed. He’s taken everything they could throw at him, and emerged more respected, and more credible, than ever. And it drives them crazy.
Well let's see; Gore came from the Clinton camp and was involved in almost as much sleaze as the big guy. The Buddhist temple money scandal and myriad other ethical lapses in the Clinton Oval Office just means that his credibility and respect levels were at a nadir and could only have gone up. The fact that he was given a Nobel prize over a woman that saved 2,500 Jews during the Holocaust shows just what the Nobel Committee intended: to spite President Bush once again as they admitted when they presented Jimmy Carter his tarnished award. So to answer Krugman, Gore doesn't drive me crazy, he makes me embarrassed. I'm embarrassed that he accepted an award he was not deserving of and embarrassed that a man who once served as the Vice President of the greatest nation on Earth can get over on so many people knowing what he's shilling is not fact but a stylized fiction.

The Gore Bandwagon Grows and Grows (Update: Gore Wins!)

Sphere: Related Content

As we speak, former VP Al Gore, Jr. is jetting across the North Atlantic (using soy-based fuel?) on what may be a visit with destiny. The Savior of the World is the odds-on favorite to take home the Nobel Peace Prize for his outstanding work in saving the world from a malady that is not even proven to exist. The Nobel Committee--that august body that once presented both the worlds worst terrorist, Yassir Arafat and the worst President in American history, Jimmy Carter the same award--appears to have deemed Gore's work of fiction more important to peace on the planet than the brave monks in Burma who are dying at the hands of an oppressive junta, Polish Holocaust heroine Irene Sendler who helped save 2,500 Jews and other people who made real contributions to peace in the world. Remember, this is the same group that gave Jimmah the award to spite Bush so it's esteem has long been eroded.

Today there's numerous stories pushing Gore to run for President again (including this laughable, full-on ass kissing by The Hill Blog). I for one say "go for it, Al!". I yearn for those days when the words "lock box" were uttered by you. I need to hear that dry monotone that makes Ben Stein (Ferris Beuller's teacher) sound downright giddy for hours in a debate. I want to hear you try once again to spin how your Dad didn't really vote against the Civil Rights Act and was an avowed racist. Please Al, I need you to run. Besides Al, we need a new invention to rival the Internet and since you invented the 'Net, you're the man to invent the next big thing.

I can't wait to see you and Hillary slugging it out, fighting each other for all those illegal campaign contributions. You can hit the Buddhist temples, she can go right to the reimbursing bundlers. It will be epic. You an Hillary both learned the business at the feet of the master (except when Monica had that spot but I digress) and it would be highly entertaining to see you go hard at each other while "Silky Pony" Edwards and Barack Obama fall by the wayside.

Wait and see the eruption on the far left should Gore win the award named after the inventor of dynamite. The far-left moonbats will back Gore 100% forcing Hillary that way and setting up a true choice on America's future. Buckle in folks, it's going to be a fun ride.

Update (10/12/07 1531): The Gorebot wins and the last remaining vestige of esteem that was still attached to the award is flushed down the toilet. Congratulations former Veep Gore.
