Saturday Morning News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Happy weekend, y'all.

-This was a busy week in politics with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals rejecting the presidents appeal to re-instate the temporary ban from 7 nations who cannot properly vet their own people. The 9th Circuit is the most overturned appellate court in America so that won't stand for long. If opponents of Trump's plan actually paid attention to what he plans on doing, they would see it's a solid plan and one that will provide a measure of safety and security. Plus, all one needs to do is look at the example set by Germany. Angela Merkel welcomed refugees into Germany and spent a ton of political capital defending her actions. That turned out to be a really bad decision on many levels. She now is implementing policies more strict than what Trump has laid out.

-Trump supporters have been calm thus far (in spite of what you may have header on #fakenews CNN or MSNBC). While liberal fascists burn down stores, halt free speech and throw bricks and feces, those on the political right have sat back and just watched. Eventually, if things continue as they have this first month of the Trump administration, they will not be content to just sit by and take it. This is a warning and a statement of fact, those who elected Trump are a calm lot happy to make a decent paycheck, take a weeks vacation and go out to dinner one night a week. But there is also a predominance of alfa genes in the group and all it will take is one spark to set that fire. If events like this continue, I fear that blaze may begin sooner rather than later.

-Back during the Obama years, many federal agencies were stocking up on ammo--so much so that it affected supplies in some areas. The reason was never addressed by Obama and the issue faded. Well now it's back again. Why the hell does the National Park Service have hundreds let alone thousands of rounds of ammo stored? I guess the question now is why was it not protected from theft?

-Trump is meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe this weekend. Japan is critical in the efforts to curtail Chinese ambitions in the region and Trump's warmness is a clear sign to Beijing that Trump is looking to strengthen our relationship with Tokyo. The US has numerous military bases throughout the Home Islands and Okinawa and they would be critical for any offensive efforts or in a defensive role.

-Expect word soon that we will be ramping up operations in Afghanistan soon. One General called our efforts in the 16-year was "stagnant". General Mattis is meeting with NATO leaders this week in Europe for talks on the situation.

-Chucky Schumer thinks he can stop Trump's Supreme Court nominee. Unfortunately for this sniveling weasel his predecessor left him some baggage to deal with--mainly the use of the nuclear option. Once Harry Reid pulled that out, it can't be put back and expect Mitch McConnell to invoke it for Gorsuch.

Sunday Morning News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Happy Super Bowl (TM) Sunday. I like the Falcons in a close one 28-24. Matty Ice is at that part of his career where he's ready to lead his team to a title. Evidently someone thinks the same.

Here's what's happening:

-For decades the word fascist has been defined as strong central government and authoritarian rule. Business is rigidly part of the governmental system. It has never been defined as left-wing or right-wing...except by Google:

Here's Merriam Webster's definition:

And here's Google's.

No wonder the actual fascists have no idea what fascism is, they get all their info from Google and Occupy Democrats.

-Who knew Monty Python and the Holy Grail was part documentary?

- College is supposed to be about learning and being exposed to ideas and views you've not encountered before. Pure debate is dead and in it's place is whining, crying and safety pins where before it was counter ideas, free thought and intellectualism. This is a great read, however the fascists on the left do not want free speech or freedom of thought, they want a strict adherence to their doctrine and there's zero room for any variance. Hence the violence to shut outside thoughts down. A good example is a free-thinking homosexual or African-American who is completely ignored or worse for thinking for themselves.

- I posted this on Facebook yesterday but think it deserves a little more comment. What the left does not get or just chooses to ignore is that the new Republican party is not you fathers GOP. We are way more libertarian than in the past and the Christian portion of the party does not hold as much sway as they previously did. Homosexuality and recreational drug use are largely excepted in the party by those who are in their 40's and 50's. The party lost that battle and it's mostly because the people of my generation opted to sit that one out. We don't give a shit if you're gay, Black or purple, we care that we all have equal rights and smaller government. Good for the people in this deeply religious area for choosing a man based on the content of his character.

- California is considering exiting the US. From a purely intellectual perspective taking emotions out of it, it would truly be better for the nation as a whole. California has enormous debt for pensions and the spending continues apace. Add to that the number of liberal votes that would leave the union and you're talking about a center-right nation going forward for a generation. I would ensure that the vote was done properly with options such as Orange and San Diego counties remaining part of the US as well as the inland areas. I would imagine that Oregon and Washington state would also contemplate joining the Golden State if they were to make such a move. That would essentially leave the entire west coast from LA to the border unprotected or at least only protected by whatever military California opted to have--meaning none. This is a good read though it is the LA Times so normal bias is evident.

Saturday Morning News & Notes

Happy weekend!

Well, it's been an interesting couple of weeks. Trump has worked exactly five weekdays and one weekend and it seems like it's been months. The strategy of shock and awe is definitely a sight to see.

Anyway, here's what's new:

-#fakenews was coined by the left to make Trump look bad, little did they know that it would be used against them so frequently. Examples such as this, this and this are near daily occurrences. It's f-ing embarrassing but then they have no shame so....

-Well, this is timely and it's not the alleged "fascists" in power but the real anti-free speech, rioting, mask wearing fascists burning shit in the street and breaking windows.

-To answer the question posed in the headline: Decidedly not well.

-It appears Trump is not going to play buddy buddy with Putin considering this was the first statement of Haley's tenure.

-The far left, government subsidized NPR sees evil where none exists. Extreme vetting is not about ideology but about public safety. Time to cut funding for this bastion of left-wing groupthink.

-Just like always, the GOP talks a good game but can't find their balls when it actually comes time to walk the walk.

Saturday Morning News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

It's cold in the northeast and most of the country. Good snow-making weather though.

Anyway, here's what's new:

-The EPA was created partly because Rachel Carson wrote Silent Spring about DDT being used to kill mosquitoes was harming bald eagle eggs and potentially wiping them out. Ironically, global warmingists have come full circle and have requested a permit to kill eagles to create clean energy:

CHEYENNE — One of the biggest wind energy projects under development in the U.S. got closer Thursday to securing a federal permit to kill a limited number of eagles without penalty.A final plan released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service would help ensure the Chokecherry-Sierra Madre wind farm in south-central Wyoming doesn’t kill too many bald and golden eagles with its hundreds of spinning turbine blades.
You real can't make this shit up.
-Does anyone really think this would've been ordered had Hillary won? I'd be really pleased to find out why the Dept. of Homeland Security was trying to hack into the state of Georgia's secured site. Perhaps the man who has been president for 8 years should have been asked why the system is so broken and hasn't been fixed while he served his two terms.
-Well, I guess China is responding to the president of Taiwan calling President-elect Trump:
TAIPEI (Reuters) - Chinese military aircraft on Saturday flew over waterways near Taiwan as part of long-range exercises, Taiwan said, the first such flights since a telephone call between Taiwan's leader and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump irked China.China claims self-ruled Taiwan as its own and has never renounced the use of force to take back what it deems a wayward province.Trump's call with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on Dec. 2 was the first between a U.S. president-elect or president and a Taiwan leader since President Jimmy Carter switched diplomatic recognition to China from Taiwan in 1979.
The media will make a big deal of this but this is just saber-rattling.
-Some asshole electoral college electors have said they would not vote for Trump even though he won their votes fair and square. They are attention whores who should be shamed, tarred and feathered then shamed again.
-One of the reasons Trump won was because he responded to his critics immediately via social media or in-person. He's bypassed the normal Sunday morning shows and takes his opinions right to the American public. That's scares the hell out of media who see themselves as gate keepers. With Trump they man the gates and he walks through the front door completely ignoring them. This is a great example of Trump being Trump.

The CEO of Time-Warner, which owns CNN must either be really thinking and paying attention or is scared that his network has gone off the deep end and it may effect his profits:

"So I thought the real threat to the First Amendment came from the Democrats' side more," Bewkes said. "There's not going to be a serious effort on the Republican side."

The latest from the Religion of Peace (TM).

If Trump made us truly energy independent, he would not only win another term but would go down as one of the greats. The untapped reserves, if exploited, would create millions of jobs quickly and the ripple effect would take it into the tens of millions.

The Navy is playing games with the LCS. This ship is a boondoggle of epic proportions and the brass is covering their asses. As Stephen Green notes: "Sending improperly tested ships out to sea gets sailors killed."

Fake Mattis quotes that could be real.

I remember on election night at around 8:30 EST there was a report that Senator Joe Manchin of the great state of West Virginia would consider switching parties and that's when i knew that the polling was in Trumps favor. Well now it appears Trump could target more than Manchin. The Democrats are in disarray and it's a perfect time to pounce on them and put our collective boots on their throats.

Reason number 760,789,555 to hate liberals and wish they would just slink back to their safe spaces.

Monday Night News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

The Eagles have a do or die game tonight against the Packers who are in a similar situation. Time for Wentz to come up big at home against a quality QB.

Here's what else is going on:

-It appears Soros picked a complete fucking idiot to mount his recount effort:

Jill Stein has everything she needs to launch a presidential recount. She's got the cash, the grassroots fervor and the spotlight of an adoring media. But there's one thing she needs to overturn Trump's victory: a calendar.Stein missed Pennsylvania's deadline to file for a voter-initiated recount. That blown deadline is a huge blow for Democrats who have pinned their hopes on recounts in the Keystone State, Michigan and Wisconsin.
-When the hope and change president who ran as anti-war starts more wars than any other in recent history. I imagine the Nobel people will be asking for their peace prize back any day now.

-The Democrats are in disarray and still don't know it.

-Can we now just get rid of Andrea Mitchell? She's about two election cycles past her shelf life.

-The strategy of not calling a terror attack a terror attack don't really seem to be working well.

-CNN goes full CNN and gets their panties all bunched up because Trump is trying to use the death of Castro to bring more freedom to everyday Cubans. CNN would rather leave the people in the horrid situation they currently find themselves. Here's the headline:
Trump threatens to roll back US-Cuba relations
We were at a state of quasi war and Obama gave them concessions without receiving any. They continue to act as thugs and still allow a cop killer to live there. Roll back to what exactly?

-This is one way to fight an asymmetrical war.

-Well this is highly unusual:

The commanding officer of a dock landing ship called it quits Monday.
She walked off her job leading the roughly 420-person crew of the dock landing ship Rushmore, Navy Times has learned, an option that isn't available to most other service members without serious repercussions.
Cmdr. Sarah DeGroot told the head of Amphibious Squadron 3, Capt. Homer Denius, on Monday that she was resigning as the Rushmore's CO. Three sources were unable to immediately specify why she'd taken this highly unusual and likely career-ending move.

No word on whether the crew were happy or not. But it is the gator navy so I'm guessing yes they were, we are a bunch of salty sailors.

-Antarctic ice hasn't decreased in a long time.

-This is a new form of terror and looks to be unstoppable. Israel will come up with a plan but this is frightening.

-The left starts eating their own. If Howard Dean is insulting Tulsi Gabbard--a shining start of their party--they are imploding.

-So not one celebrity who threatened to move has done so. Not only are they untalented with low IQ's but are liars as well.

-The next time someone preaches about the greatness of sanctuary cities and scoffs at the idea of securing our borders, remind them of this story.

Wednesday Evening News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

-Are we hitting the new Morning in America? It appears so. There's been a lot of good news since Trump won; the markets shattered records, a huge oil discovery in Texas and now this:

And 'optimistic' might be an understatement. According to the latest report, in some cases, Americans are the most hopeful they have been in more than a decade. For the first time since 2006, 37 percent of households said they expect their personal finances to improve in 2017. Also hitting decade highs: real income expectations, as wage growth continues to gain strength in a broadening swath of the economy.
Note that Bloomberg tries like hell to tamper the news that this is because of Trump but they are Bloomberg and they are biased. Now let's all hope Trump can come through.

-Well this is funny. So a magazine called Blackhair that bills itself as the leading publication for women of color in Europe accidentally had a cover model who is white woman named Emily Bador. But what if Ms. Bador identified as black that day, it worked for Rachel Dolezal.

-The Trump people say Elton John will play the Trump inauguration. John has not confirmed as of yet but he did play Rush Limbaugh's wedding. Here's a funny dig by a Trump transition team member:
“This will be the first American president in US history that enters the White House with a pro-gay rights stance,” Scaramucci claimed.
-Ace remains the funniest guy on the Internet day in and day out. Dude gives no fucks.

-Tommy Hilfiger is a capitalist and knows that dressing Melania would be a huge get for any designer. You may recall that Michelle Obama's designer (I forget her name and don't care enough to look up the sniveling weasel--it's probably in the article but I'm not giving her the plug) said she would not work with Melania and no other designers should either. I guess Tommy is giving her the finger. Plus, have you seen the dresses?

-Megyn Kelly has a new book out. Apparently Trump supporters have pretty much trashed her in the reviews...or maybe the book just sucks. Anyway, Amazon is covering for her by erasing some of the reviews. I used to like Kelly but she just comes across as arrogant and not too bright now that she's on daily.

-Allegedly General Mattis changed Trump's mind on waterboarding. Mattis supposedly said “Give me a pack of cigarettes and a couple of beers and I’ll do better.". If we can get better results with a few Coors Lights and a pack of Marlboro's I'm all for it.

Monday Night News & Notes

Gotta love the start of the holiday season. A 4 day weekend is within pissing distance. Here's what else is happening:

-Former Enron advisor and noted economist (who has been wrong on everything economic in the last 15 years) said on election night the market would never recover. The market hit new record highs today. Nothing this guy says is ever right.

-The media visited with Trump to find out what kind of access they'd get to the new administration. He pretty much told them none and berated them. People will say this isn't presidential and the reporters will whine like the little pussies they are but A) he's not president yet and B) they were so biased that they have set their industry back decades.

-This bears serious watching. Philly, NYC, San Francisco and Chicago are all on notice that they will play by the rule of law or pay the price.

-There have been three shootings of cops in the last two days. This has got to stop. Make it a federal crime to shoot a cop and make it a mandatory minimum of life. I'm not into mandatory minimums but I am for this. Prayers to Benjamin Marconi's family.

-Will the left actually incite a civil war? Not directly against Trump supporters by expect some subversive tactics.

Sunday Morning News & Notes

Good morning.

This is todays must read. The liberal establishment still does not get why Trump won. Hopefully they never wake up and educate themselves. If you play the identity politics game, you better be ready for identity politics.

Here's another attempt to explain Trump winning.

Don't buy the media hype about Jeff Sessions. I find it amusing that the Democrats had Robert Byrd--a former KKK Kleagle--as their senior Senator for decades.

Keep an eye on Obama as he is ushered out the door. Hundreds if not thousands of new regulations will be passed in the next two months.

Rosie is not happy. I like Rosie when she is not happy. ALL CAPS MEANS SHE"S SERIOUS AND MAD!

Note to liberals, Americans are not going to sit back and have you lecture us. I've a feeling this administration is going to fire back at the media for every non-factual essay they write. Good.

A British MP believes that James Bond sends a toxic message about masculinity. Apparently the idiocy from the left here is just like the idiocy over there.

This is cool:

Wednesday Night News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

It's been a week since the world woke up and found out Trump won. A lot has happened in the last week since that earthquake hit.

-The joy of watching this witch go down will be only slightly less awesome than the elation of watching Hillary topple. Pelosi has led her party into the wilderness by going far left and now they are in shambles yet it's doubtful anyone has the balls to challenge the old bag. Does anyone remember this disgusting display where she proudly shoved the worst legislation in 50 years down our throats will zero GOP participation?

-The media keeps pushing the Trump supporters saying bad things meme while in reality Hillary supporters are engaging in violence on a huge scale.

Walker, 25, said the alleged shooter uttered something disrespectful to her as she went back into the bar, angering Mormon, 32, who confronted the man and began arguing with him. Walker said Mormon jokingly told the man he voted for Trump.
The argument continued and the alleged shooter — identified by Walker as a Hispanic man wearing a white coat — went around a corner, came back with a gun and opened fire.

This has got to stop soon. Perhaps Trump or Hillary can say anything to actually get people to calm the fuck down, Trump already did.

-If Hillary had won, we'd have seen the death of free speech. It appears that the change in direction is coming just in time:

The artistic genius behind the highly acclaimed conservative satirical site The People's Cube has been arrested and released on $8,000 bail for putting up pro-Israel posters to combat a pro-Islamist conference at George Mason University. He now faces the prospect of five years in prison for allegedly committing a "class 6 felony."

Colleges are a nightmare. Glad my daughter is going to a southern school where they haven't completely lost their minds.

-The safety pin, puppy cuddling, coloring, safe space generation is losing their minds

-Haven't the media realized that Donald Trump could not give a shit about what they think or their "protocol"?

Commies in Texas get arrested at anti-Trump rally. They look exactly you'd expect American commies to look like.

Breitbart is hitting back twice as hard.

Amusing, Trump is making the world safer by the day.

This is day number six that neither Trump nor Hillary have called for calm from their base.

Therapy dogs were brought into the Capitol to soothe the minds of people after Trump whopped Hillary in the electoral college. Such pussies.

As someone who has to deal with the EPA on numerous levels, this should shake that agency up a lot.

This is nothing new: fake a hate crime, the media immediately puts it out without investigation and ties it to whomever they hate at the moment and eventually it's proven false.

This nails it. I've been saying for a few years that eventually the pendulum would go back the other way and it would't be gradual. It swung back with enough force to knock the Earth liberals inhabit off its axis.

Mondays suck. Enough said.

Trump and Putin have had discussions about how to destroy ISIS. It's not the first time we've teamed with the Russians to take down a mutual enemy who kills for their ideology. If step one is to liquidate Baghdadi, I'm all for it.

-Apparently the man who wrote our founding documents and remains a national hero is being censored. I guess the words of one of the greatest thinkers of the 18th and 19th centuries are too much for the special snowflakes. I really wish the Chancellor of the school would drop all pretense and diplomacy and just tell these professors to fuck off.

-The TPP is dead.

-Ive been saying for eight years that every time the left cheered Obama for using executive orders to enact regulation, he was setting precedent for the next president. They must've expected the next president to be Hillary. Unfortunately for them the office that Obama empowered to an historic extent is now the office Trump will have and the power that Trump inherits.

-I'm still waiting for one high profile Democrat to condemn the violence at anti-Trump rallies. Trump explicitly called for his supporters to stop, from the left all we hear are crickets.

Sunday Morning News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

I used to love Sundays...but I'm an Eagles fan so they have kinda lost their luster lately.

Anyway, here's what's new in the world:

-President Obama will address the nation tonight at 8:00 ET. What will he say? I'm guessing some platitudes about how the ISIS attack was an unforeseen tragedy and then he will pound home the anti-gun rhetoric. Americans don't blame guns, they blame militant Islam and he had better tread lightly here or he will hurt his party immeasurably.

-And what of the GoPro video shot by Farook and his bride? If she took the time to pledge allegiance to ISIS before attacking, does it not stand to reason she uploaded it somewhere in the hours between the attack and the subsequent fatal run-in with the police?

-Now this is interesting: allegedly the rifles used by Farook and his wife were purchased by a neighbor. Police have not able to talk with the man because he checked himself into a mental hospital following the attack. This obliterates the contention by Senator Barbara Boxer that California gun laws worked in this case.

-This week the armed forces were forced to fully integrate women into combat roles. Any job a man can do, a women can try to earn. I for one think this is great provided they do not lower the standards one single bit. I also believe this social experiment will be a disaster. For true equality however, we need to make it mandatory that all US women must sign up for the draft just like every 18 year old boy does.

-Staying with the women in combat idea, I find it hilarious that news channels that are demonstrably feminist are looking the angle that the woman terrorist attacked because of post-partum depression or some other distinctly feminine reason. They say they want women in combat roles yet make say that feminine issues could have a effect on performance. You can't have it both ways. Face it, women are just as violent and blood thirsty as men--especially when dealing with jihadi's.

-Scientists say that a meatless diet may cause mental issues. Just like global warming, I believe the science is settled.

-Finally, the college football playoffs will be set today. Safe money says Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Michigan State will be the four. In what order is yet to be determined except Clemson being the #1 seed.

Saturday Morning News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Happy Saturday. Today's a day of putting up lights, hauling up all the Christmas stuff and then sitting back with a couple of beers and chilling.

Here's what's going on:

-A white shooter was apprehended alive after killing a cop and civilians in a rampage that started at a Planned Parenthood facility. Also there's this: The shooters only online info shows he identifies as a female (via Instapundit). The motive remains uncertain according to the police:

"We don't have any information on this individuals mentality, or his ideas or ideology," Buckley said.
Of course that hasn't stopped PP and a bunch of of other liberals from blaming the Christian right, the GOP and everyone else with a conservative bent. While every terror attack by a Muslim is immediately blamed on anything else, in this case the left is forgoing the wait and see approach and going right the blaming angle. I'm sure the #BlackLivesMatter people at Mizzou will be upset that this story is stealing their publicity.  BTW, if you want to know why I said a "white shooter" at the beginning of this, it's because I still believe we should identify exactly who each perpetrator of a crime is from the outset.

-Meanwhile, the Turkey-Russia situation is still hot. Putin cannot let this pass without wringing everything out of this he can and the person he will be targeting to give him concessions is Obama.

-Even though strict gun control regulations are in place, Chicago is even more dangerous. Just another example of the Lefts goal of controlling weapons trumps the lives of poor black men in an urban setting. They use the poor who are dying as an excuse to seize your legally owned gun but they care nothing about them or else the piles of dead bodies would;t be as big.

-No, your weren't imagining it, college campuses are the reason we are a nation of whiny pussies.

-The VA has spent millions on pushing Obamacare to those who don't need and not spending much on cutting wait times.

-When the entirety of Obama's MidEast failures are put together in one place, it sure looks damning.

Monday Night News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Hope y'all had a good weekend. I sure as hell didn't the way the Eagles played. They got smoked by the Bucs. Oh well, at least we only have to work three days this week.

Anyway, here's what's happening in this crazy ass world:

-The self awareness of politicians is amazing to me. Hillary actually put out this tweet:

And of course she was reminded immediately of Juanita Broaddrick and the others whom accused her husband of sexually assaulting them while Hillary worked to not only believe them but smear them mercilessly.

-The White House wants Americans to discuss gun control during Thanksgiving dinner. I think we will: How to control it from the prone position, the standing Weaver stance and while on the run. Controlling ones gun in those situations is critical.

-Dems are asking Obama to curb gun violence through executive orders. Quiz time! Do they mean going house to house in urban neighborhoods and confiscating weapons of those who are the primary cause for the high statistics or will they go after law-abiding gun owners? That question was 100% rhetorical.

-It's fashionable to hate Jews again, evidently. Why is it always the socialists? The National Socialists, colleges and others.

-Reason #456,098 we will lose the War on Terror. I don't hate these college students, I feel for them because they were raised by parents who are even more fucked up than they are.

-And finally; Vox is a liberal website that features the stellar lineup of Ezra Klein and Matt Yglesias (yeah, no one else knows them either). It seems like every year, they or one of their liberal brethren (micro aggression alert!) come up with some story about how to talk politics at their Thanksgiving dinner. It's always inane and in my opinion is just lazy journalism but that's the standard at Vox so....

Anyway, read the tweets from these liberals at the site. They are just the most depressed and emotionally stunted people on the planet. They have no sense of humor and to be honest, are the exact people you don;t want at your house on Thanksgiving. They hate everything and are the people that will say the turkey was too dry or you lack sufficient gluten free choices.

Listen assholes, Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for what you, joke around with family (even non-PC jokes), eat way too much, drink too much and watch football. If any of you fuckers come to my house and act like, well, liberals I'll kindly kick your ass out. Lighten up, you people need to get a life.

Thursday Evening News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Almost there people! One more day, short week next week and then turkey, football and full blown Christmas insanity.

Here's what's happening:

Shocker! The media backs Obama on accepting Syrian refugees. Remember how the media used to love to call out conservatives who didn't serve in the military by referring to them as "chicken hawks"? How about we refer to those who don't take Syrian men into their homes as just plain hypocrites. I say Nick Kristoff should be the first, Ahmed will enjoy living on the upper west side, it'll make that trek to Times Square so much easier.

No Bernie, FDR's policies did not end the depression, they extended it. WWII ended the recession. revisionist history doesn't look good on you. Perhaps you can expound on his greatest legacy: locking up honest Americans because they looked Japanese.

Meet my newest hero. represent proudly, bro.

With every other president, their first thought was the safety and security of the citizens who elected them. With Obama it's not even an afterthought. Sharyl Attkison is among the best reporters doing the job today. CBS let her go because she didn't toe the liberal line but she's fair as hell in her reporting. It sure will be interesting to see how Obama reacts if we get hit again like Paris did but it will be even more interesting to see the real Obama emerge when he's out of office.

There's just no way to spin this: A large health insurance company is set to bail on Obamacare because it does exactly what every single conservative warned it would do. It's unsustainable but I for one have zero sympathy, they joined up and pushed this bullshit law because they thought they'd make a killing. Instead they lost money. I'm sure your shareholders are thrilled.

Jared Fogle is going away for 15 years for his disgusting crimes. I'm sure he'll do just fine in there, we all know they love child molesters. I'll leave the immature prison rape joke about foot longs out of this.

Trump extends his lead, Rubio and Carson now tied with Carson losing a lot of points. Trump may just win this thing, he's starting to seem inevitable.

Tuesday Night News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Happy Tuesday. I looked at the calendar and today is the 16th. Not really sure where the hell the year went.

Anyway, here's thing I saw in the news today that you may want to check out:

-Angela Merkel led the European push to accept the refugees coming from Syria. It may just be her downfall.

-Erdogan in Turkey has seen a steady increase in Muslim power within his country. He's adapted and become more Islamic himself to survive. I foresee a problem though--the US has two large Air Force bases in Turkey and they are critical to our efforts in the Mideast. If Erdogan is ousted by the large Muslim faction, that could spell trouble. If you think I'm way over thinking this, take note that the Turks booed during a moment of silence for Paris and screaming Allahu Akhbar.

-Some states--nearly half--are refusing to allow Syrian immigrants to be sent there. The legal standing they have is iffy but we should see one hell of a states rights case come out of it. This one will make it to SCOTUS.

-If there's one thing I love about being a veteran, it's when I see things like this. A Marine Corps vet passed with no one to make arrangements and no one to mourn. People got together and handled it and 1,000 people showed up to honor a man they never knew. My son is now active duty and he now understands that we are all brothers and sisters in the service of our country. My favorite quote is this:

Leslie Archer drove in from northern Indiana "because my dad was a Navy vet. He's passed now, so it's my responsibility to (look out) for other vets."
And that explains how the military--4 years of your life in many cases--effects not only you but your family.

-And finally, I posted this on FB but I can never, ever overstate the brilliance of Iowahawk. Dave is by far the funniest and smartest dude on Twitter. I recall back when he was writing a lot more than 140 characters. But he's even more intelligent with less words. The blogosphere has seen some genius writers but I'll always give major f-ing props to him:

Sunday Morning News & Notes

Sphere: Related Content

It's been awhile but got the writing bug back. I may be rusty but always try to bring my "A" game so here goes:

-The vile Nancy Pelosi says "we are all American's" while standing at the border where hundreds of thousands of people are swarming through unchecked. I wonder how she's feel if we shipped all of these illegals up to her district in northern California and forced them to pay for the care, housing and processing of them. I'm sure the rise in crime rates, burden on the local infrastructure and introduction of diseases would go over fantastically. K say we ship some to New York City as well since Mayor DiBlasio is of the same mind as Pelosi on this.

-Long time readers (if I have any more left) may remember the epic battles I used to get in with the Swarthmore College liberals. I liked them for the most part--at least as much as one can like the privileged children of wealthy white liberals who have had no real world, diversified experience outside of seeing one black guy who mistakenly took a wrong turn and ended up in Bryn Mawr. they used to attempt to debate me on the issues of the day in their cute, smug manner. Well, it appears things haven't really changed that much in the land of of the Swatties.

-To every person who's been paying attention the NY Times has done a horrible job (read the usual job) of covering the IRS scandal. Imagine for a sec it was a Republican president who ordered the IRS to audit and/or give special attention to his political enemies in a move to silence them. The story would be front page, above the fold every single day for months. The Times has not had one front page story and has barely even mentioned it. So after some inquiries from one of the fifteen readers they still have left, they did an internal investigation and found that they've done a fine job of covering a non-story thank you very much. Now shut up you rube.

-In what can only be described as the worst article ever written in a somewhat major online magazine; Slate tries to make the case that global warming is responsible for the carnage ISIS has caused in Iraq and Syria. No, really.

Could there be a connection between climate change and the emerging conflict in Iraq? The short answer is a qualified yes, according to Frank Femia of the Center for Climate and Security, a Washington-based policy institute advised by senior retired military and national security leader.
So who is Frank Femia? He's a guy who has a financial stake in ensuring the public takes global warming seriously so he interjects global warming into everything he can. Slate is of the same mind and using the fact that Femia's organization has affiliations with former top military men who are only seeking a paycheck has equated the lack of rain in Mesopotamia with the growing threat of ISIS.  The fact that ISIS is just the next group to follow in the 600 year tradition of re-establishing the great caliphate and is carrying on the same work as their ideological brethren form the 1600's is not worth the time to discuss. I would like to offer a new hypothesis: The downfall of Slate magazine has been caused by global warming: their incessant chattering about the topic that most America's rank last on their list of concerns has led to a massive decrease in their bottom line and forced them to publish articles that cause people to point and laugh at.

New Years Eve News and Notes

Sphere: Related Content

Here's what's happening in the world:

-MSNBC is the all white/GOP racism, all the time channel. But racism on their part is wholly acceptable because in their fetid minds, only conservatives can be racist.

-The NY Times is looking to 2016 and they are going full-bore for Hillary. They start with revisionist history on Benghazi.

-The political winners and losers of 2013. They sprinkled in a few Republicans as losers but it was a particularly bad year for the Donks.

-Someone with a hell of a lot more time than I have added up the body counts in movies and out it in graph form.

-Of course they did: NY Times and CNBC wish the killer of 70-million happy birthday on day after Christmas.

-The Pittsburgh Steelers got screwed. Too bad for them but the Chargers are sure happy.

-I can't believe they whittled it down to only ten: Media malpractice in 2013.

-This ought to give me a few more years: 3-D printed livers.

-And finally, Fly, Eagles Fly:
