Obama, Andrew Sullivan and Palin

Sphere: Related Content

A funny thing is happened last week. President Obama quoted almost verbatim an Andrew Sullivan blog post where he said that Churchill didn't condone torture. It turned out to be woefully inaccurate as Churchill encouraged it in some cases.

Here's what's really interesting: Obama is quoting a man who writes erroneous information on his site right next to posts about Trig Palin being born to Bristol and not Sarah Palin. Sullivan's been on this extremely creepy conspiracy theory for months.

It's funny, the right side of the blogosphere has been smacking down our own for spreading the rumor that Obama wasn't a citizen and thus can't legally be president while Obama quotes a hack journalist in prime time who wallows in conspiracy theories on a daily basis.

Obama Retakes Oath of Office

Sphere: Related Content

Supposedly at 7:35 this evening.

Anyone who'd push that as an issue is a loser...kinda like stalking a Governor and claiming her child is actually not hers or saying 9/11 was an inside job and being bitch-slapped debunked by people who actually have a brain.

Like I said, losers.

Sullivan's Pretzel Logic on Abortion and Torture

Sphere: Related Content

Try to follow the great St. Andrew as he twists himself in a complete knot in one paragraph. Let's break it down, shall we?

I could never be an abortionist and admire those in the medical profession who refuse to become one. The difference of course, is that the government is actually torturing; it is not merely permitting torture.
The "government" is not doing the "torturing", (Sullivan calls waterboarding torture), it has policies in place that say what can and can't be used to coerce information. By that thinking that Sullivan puts to pixels, the government by allowing abortion is thereby aborting. You can't say one and then exclude the other using that logic.

And so all of us are far more directly implicated in the government's torture than we are in a constitutional regime in which other private citizens are permitted to abort the unborn children of consenting women.
Wrong! We, by allowing abortion to remain legal are implicated in the deaths of millions of children. some very late term and viable and some who are born alive and then killed (what some may call torture far worse than waterboarding).

I guess that Sullivan is so incoherent at this point--what with trying to prove that Trig Palin is Bristols' and all--that he can't put together a logical argument without twisting himself into a gobsmackingly crazy-ass pretzel.

Ron Paul Gets the Kiss of Death

Sphere: Related Content

Ron Paul has shown an extraordinary ability to raise money from a bunch of disaffected losers and 9/11 Truthers and an equally extraordinary ability to have that much money and not get a major bump in the polls.

Sorry Paulites, your boy just got the kiss of death and it's gobsmackingly ass-kissing:

He's the real thing in a world of fakes and frauds. And in a primary campaign where the very future of conservatism is at stake, that cannot be ignored. In fact, it demands support.

Go Ron Paul!
Let's be clear Andrew Sullivan, Paul is not a Conservative, he's a Libertarian with some conservative leanings on fiscal issues. But hey, why stop Sullivan when he is so excited he's using exclamation points.

Anyway, Saint Andrew is echoing not only the Paulites but the Dems as well:

Let's be clear: we have lost this war. We have lost because the initial, central goals of the invasion have all failed: we have not secured WMDS from terrorists because those WMDs did not exist. We have not stymied Islamist terror - at best we have finally stymied some of the terror we helped create. We have not constructed a democratic model for the Middle East - we have instead destroyed a totalitarian government and a phony country, only to create a permanently unstable, fractious, chaotic failed state, where the mere avoidance of genocide is a cause for celebration. We have, moreover, helped solder a new truth in the Arab mind: that democracy means chaos, anarchy, mass-murder, national disintegration and sectarian warfare. And we have also empowered the Iranian regime and made a wider Sunni-Shiite regional war more likely than it was in 2003. Apart from that, Mr Bush, how did you enjoy your presidency?
Just read those words. Are those the words of a man who once supported the war? Yes they are and they are also the words of a man who turned on the cause at the first sign of things going bad. Enjoy the other side Sully, we find you even more of an ally when you write things like this.
