Hell Freezes Over: NOW Defends Palin

Hope and change:

The sexualization of girls and women in the media is reaching new lows these days — it is exploitative and has a negative effect on how all women and girls are perceived and how they view themselves. Letterman also joked about what he called Palin’s “slutty flight attendant look” — yet another example of how the media love to focus on a woman politician’s appearance, especially as it relates to her sexual appeal to men. Someone of Letterman’s stature, who appears on what used to be known as “the Tiffany Network” (CBS), should be above wallowing in the juvenile, sexist mud that other comedians and broadcasters seem to prefer.

On that point, it’s important to note that when Chelsea Clinton was 13 years old she was the target of numerous insults based on her appearance. Rush Limbaugh even referred to her as the “White House dog.” NOW hopes that all the conservatives who are fired up about sexism in the media lately will join us in calling out sexism when it is directed at women who aren’t professed conservatives.

This is the first (and probably last time) NOW will stick up for a conservative woman. I guess when it came to joking about a young girl and sex with A-Rod it was finally too much.

Of course that last paragraph was expected because they do have to keep up their liberal street cred you know.

Why Are Liberals So In Hate With Sarah Palin?

I guess with Bush gone, they needed a new channel for their utter hatred. we went swiftly from Bush Derangment Syndrome (BDS) to Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS). They are losing it over the good-looking Alaska governor in ways that if she were a liberal would have the NOW gang marching up their collective streets with pitchforks (and probably flying brooms).

Last night, the once-funny David Letterman went after Palin labeling her look "slutty flight attendant" and saying that it was "awkward" that Alex Rodriguez "knocked up her daughter". Again, nothing from the nags of NOW.

We also had "comedian" Chuck Nice calling Sarah Palin "very much like herpes" on the Today show, which elicited zero response from the female host. Video of that below:


The hatred of Palin is so vile that if it were aimed at Sotomayor or Pelosi, we'd see breathless front page stories and non-stop news coverage. With Sarah, not so much.

Monday Night News and Notes

Here's what's new in this crazy world:

-The ultra liberal Guardian is doing everything possible to hamper our efforts in Pakistan and Afghanistan. During WWII they'd have been brought up on treason charges.

-Sarah Palin has been paying attention to North Korea and their nuclear development. She has good reason to call for the continued work on SDI.

-Even Obama's great uncle thinks he does things simply for political expediency. The dude is fooling no one but the fawning media and his idiotic sycophants. More here.

-A cruise that I'm tempted to take. I'll take a .50 cal, deck-mounted navy spec and a RPG please. Well that and the all inclusive bar food package.

-It takes an Aussie to remind us what a friggin buffoon Henry Waxman (D-CA) is. He's in charge of congressional environmental policy. God help us. as an aside; is Waxman the single most goofy looking politician in the entire country?

-Playboy sinks to a new low then wimps out. About what I expected.

Misogyny is Alive and Well in Progressiveland

Keith Olbermann is a hypocritical liberal is one ever existed. We all know that and it takes quite a bit from the failed sports host to even comment on him but his vile, sexist outrage concerning a beauty pageant contestant who spoke out against gay marriage is particularly disgusting.

Why Do the Democrats Hate Women?

It's a weird phenomenon of late but the Democrats have become downright misogynistic. Every woman who is runing for office or nominated instantly comes under major scrutiny and general scorn.

At first I thought they were just hypocrites because they attacked only Republicans like Condi Rice, Katherine Harris and any other woman who threatened their ideology or power.

But then I watched what they did to Hillary Clinton. Hillary was the can't-miss candidate and they backed her unquestionably. Partly because she still carried enough clout to neuter them politically but also because she was their ticket to power that had been lost. Remember, it was a little over a year ago that the entire party was fawning over her.

Enter Barack Obama. As soon as it became clear that BHO had any shot at winning the nomination, they dumped Hillary like a blind date who revealed she had herpes. Not only did they drop her, they belittled her and even went so far as playing the race card.

I won't even go into the sexism they displayed with Sarah Palin as that's been well documented.

Now we see how they treated Caroline Kennedy. Granted, she would have been a horrible selection but the way they eviscerated her was even worse than what Republicans could have dreamed of.

That brings us to the woman who was selected by Gov. David Paterson--Kirsten Gillibrand. As soon as Gillibrand was announced, they pounced on her like a kitten on a ball of yarn. Here's a taste:

“Nobody really likes her,” sniped one New York City-area member, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“She's smart and capable, but she's rubbed people the wrong the way,” said another.

That's not just political, that's personal. They hate her, her politics and everything else about her. But mostly, they hate her because she's a woman.

Ask yourself; why would they be so against an attractive, capable legislator? I asked myself that when Palin was running but I digress.

I ask again, why does the Democrat Party hate women?
