Tim Blair brings us this opinion piece from the Vancouver Sun:
Richard Holbrooke, United States President Barack Obama's special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, was urged Tuesday to reach out to reconcilable factions among the Taliban insurgents as an essential move towards bringing peace to the region.Note the advertisement accompanying the piece (update: the ad is a rotating ad, I'll try to get a screenshot) which portrays a man and a woman in a bikini luxuriating in Scottsdale, AZ. I'm guessing according to the Pakistani's, a "moderate" member of the Taliban is one who would only stone the woman in the picture to death (after lashing her forty or so times) were she in a bikini in Kabul next to a man who is not her brother instead of beheading her.
Holbrooke received the advice from Pakistan's foreign minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, during a meeting that also included President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
