On Putin, he is remaking Russia into a new Soviet Union and has cemented his power this year. The Russians just don't seem comfortable not being a world power since Reagan kicked them into the dustbin, they've floundered on the world stage and have been eclipsed in some respects by China. Putin is looking to bring back what he perceived was Russia's greatness and in doing so is putting that nation on the course of quasi-communism whereby the nation is ruled by a different elite than the Soviet Union was.

I for one am sad to see my title going to another, especially an ex-KGB leader, but alas, titles are eventually lost by all who hold them.
