Liberals Jump to Conclusions on Randi Rhodes Mugging

The one thing you can always count on from liberals is that they think Republicans and Conservatives are capable of just about anything. Violence is just second nature to us even though not even a single case of conservatives attacking liberals can be cited...the same can be said about liberals attacking conservatives.

Today, Air America Radio host (it's still on? Who knew?) Randi Rhodes was reported to have been attacked and according to another host at the station it was by a conservative and was a hate crime. The left-wing idiot blogs pounced all over it and, with absolutely zero evidence, started accusing people like me of perpetrating the vicious crime.

First, The American Street blog:

After seeing the comments there and sampling comments on blogs left and right, several points come to mind:

1) Jumping to conclusions about it being politically motivated advances nothing but fear.

2) There’s some pretty hateful folks around, eager to add insults to Randi’s injuries.

3) Despite #1, the online violence and sociopathy women are subjected to makes it prudent to recognize there are sickos afoot who should be institutionalized. Sadly, they can’t turn to standard social ‘protectors’ with confidence anymore, as police forces and the military - because of their authoritarian positions - draw too many sickos like magnets to their ranks.

Emphasis mine. Okay, we have the normal rhetoric about women being victimized (why do liberal men sound so effeminant when talking about womens issues?), blah, blah blah, but the line I emphasized is what gets me. Read it again, she disparaged me and every veteran or military person now serving, not to mention the police force as "sickos." That's serious liberal sickness right there. I would imagine if her hometown were overrun by al-Qaeda or she was being attacked by a (Democrat) mugger or rapist, she wouldn't exactly call those responding "sickos" to their faces. She would of course be quite happy that these "sickos" were there to defend her. Of course, to explain to a "progressive" that I served for his right to disparage me would only confuse his lame ass even more.

Next we have our old buddy Taylor Marsh:

There's a lot of speculation why this happened, because evidently she wasn't wearing jewelry and was in a jogging suit. I have no idea why it happened and neither does anyone else at this point, but the link above offers some ideas, one of which is that she was targeted because she's a liberal radio host. In New York City that is harder to believe than if she was in Alabama. We just don't know right now. It's simply horrific. Prayers for her speedy recovery go out to Ms. Rhodes.

Again, emphasis mine. Marsh plays it pretty straight until you get to the line about Alabama. That is liberal elitism in a nutshell. Marsh believes in her heart of hearts that if she were to utter liberal thoughts in Alabama she would be mugged by a NASCAR hat wearing redneck who just left the local KKK meeting and is heading down to the local juke joint to drink fifteen Budweiser drafts. Note that Marsh has turned off her comments once the story was proven to be completely false. At least she had the guts to keep the post up.

But my favorite has to be this misguided fool:

She was violently assaulted while out walking her dog. According to published report, she lost teeth. Nothing was stolen, since she carried neither wallet nor valuables.

All visitors to this site will surely join me in wishing her the very best. According to an old axiom, a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged. I'm sure that Randi Rhodes will disprove that idea.

Update: Thom Hartman has announced...
On Sunday evening, October 14, Air America host Randi Rhodes experienced an unfortunate incident hindering her from hosting her show. The reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded. Ms. Rhodes looks forward to being back on the air on Thursday.

The rightists at Little Green Footballs take these words as an indication that Randi may not have been attacked at all.

And of course the "rightists" would be correct now wouldn't they?

As it turns out, Rhodes suffered a mysterious incident that included not a crazed right-winger but only her and her dog. She in fact was not attacked by anyone. I am not holding my breath waiting for the lefty blogosphere to apologize any time soon. Interestingly, they all jumped to conclusions over this incident yet not a single one I can remember even had a peep to say about the idiot who attempted to murder Katherine Harris with his car. Hypocrisy, thy name is "progressive".

On the bright side, we have at least one lib who didn't jump to conclusions and libs, just like a good dog, respond to positive reinforcement.

Update: Via Charles Johnson, a post at Gawker says she got hammered at an Irish Pub (nothing wrong with that of course) and whacked her mug on the pavement knocking out part of her grill. You lose again moonbats!

Randi Rhodes was no more assaulted by a right-wing fanatic on Monday than Dick Cheney was. She, in fact, fell down and injured her teeth outside of a Midtown Irish bar at around 6 o’clock Sunday evening after downing about fourteen Ketel One Bloody Marys. She was abusive to the barstaff and generally gross, crass, loud, and pretentious. I genuinely hope she has a speedy recovery. I never would’ve disclosed this (I believe that anyone should feel free to hang out at Irish pubs at any time and not be concerned about someone publishing their behavior) if Air America hadn’t grossly interpreted a drunken indiscretion and allowed it to be morphed into some bullish rhetoric on air. Whatever journalistic integrity the station may have ever had is now completely compromised. The manipulation of the public diminishes any cause, whether just or fabricated.
