When the cease fire was agreed to last week between Israel and Lebanon, Europeans were thought to have been the key to securing some kind of peace in the border region.
Not so. Both France and Germany will offer only token support. Continental Europeans being continental Europeans it appears.
What a bad deal this turned out to be for Israel.
