I Imagine This Bears Watching

In light of the shenanigans (second item) from the Vermont "flower child" who pissed on the floor of the airplane and recent Pakistan visitor, we bring you this story:

CEREDO, W.Va. (AP) -- A West Virginia airport terminal was evacuated Thursday after a female passenger's water bottle twice tested positive for explosives, a Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman said.

"The bomb squad is on site and the woman is being interviewed by the FBI," Amy von Walter said.

Security checkpoint screeners got a positive test on a machine that uses swabs to find traces of explosives, von Walter said. A bomb-sniffing dog also reacted to the water bottle.

A screener noticed the bottle in a woman's carryon bag as she prepared to board a flight to Charlotte, N.C., said Tri-State Airport authority President Jim Booton.

At the risk of sounding like a racial profiler and evil Republican; I'll bet her name is not O'Callahan or Smith.

Update: I for one am absolutely shocked that the woman is "of Pakistani origin". Of course an American paper would not print this important info. A Brit paper has no compunction with presenting the facts:

A screener noticed the bottle as the passenger, of Pakistani origin, prepared to board a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Airport director Larry Salyers said security screeners detected material in the containers indicating "it very well could be a bomb".

They have been taken by robot to a remote area for further analysis.

I sure hope the screener didn't profile.

Update 2: A cursory search of all the stories show that not one American website says the woman was Pakistani while every British one does.

Update 3: Not explosives but give the TSA credit for being alert...even in West Virginia.
