The Disgraceful Howie Dean

Howard Dean--darling of "progressives"--sinks to new lows once again:

In his first post-Katrina visit to the Crescent City, Dean helped Acorn, a nonprofit community group that works with low-income families, to clean out Vincent Cooper's flood-damaged home on Derbigny Street in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans.

His first visit? Where's he been?

"I don't want to be partisan at a time like this (why should this time be different?--ed), but this is why the Republicans are going to be out of business," Dean said, pointing to the destruction around him. "Nine months after the hurricane, to have this? This is ridiculous. This is not the America we grew up in."

When asked if he thought Americans had moved beyond Katrina and may forget about the storm by the time the November elections rolled around, Dean replied, "This is a searing, burning issue, and I think it is going to cost George Bush his legacy and it's going to cost the Republicans the House and the Senate and maybe the presidency in the next election. People will never forget this."

Americans have put it behind them. They saw the problem, donted money and clothing, took in refugees (and grew sick of them), and have now largely forgotten about the city. Not out of apathy but for reasons like the truth about responsibility and the quick clean-up in Republican-led Mississippi. They see that NO was led by Democrats such as Ray Nagin and they failed to prepare for what they knew would be a major catastrophic event.

Dean--who seems to be on the verge of being a Jesse Jackson clone--is always popping up at some crisis or other and blaming the Republicans. His credibility is shot and no one in the Donk leadership sees it.

Katrina will have zero effect on the mid-term election.
