Bad Baseball

My seven year old daughter comes into the family room where my son and I are watching the Phillies play the Nationals. She looks at the score and says "I guess the Phillies are the sillies tonight". Well said, my baby.

This has got to be the worst pitching staff I've seen in many years and that's definitely saying something. With exception of Brett Myers, they all have sucked. Let's look at the brutal numbers:

Lieber is now 0-4 and has an ERA of 7.99 Cory Lidle's is 5.00, Gavin Floyd is at 6.75 and Ryan Madson is at 8.36. The only bright spot is Myers who is at 3.06 and held the Rockies scoreless at Coor's Field in his last start.

Excluding Myers, the Phillies starting staff has a 7.02 ERA to start the season. Add Myers and it's at 6.23. Pathetic.

The bullpen isn't much better with the exeption of Cormier, Gordon and Franklin.

It's going to be a long season for Sillies fans. Even a 7-year old can see it.
