US Getting to al-Qaeda

Us drones are making life a bit chaotic for al-Qaeda bigwigs and the spineless ones worry:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. intelligence has increased its use of pilotless drone aircraft to target al Qaeda suspects along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border despite questions about the tactic's effectiveness, intelligence experts say.

Drones armed with Hellfire missiles and controlled by the CIA have been deployed at least five times since the September 11 attacks in deadly airstrikes against al Qaeda suspects in Afghanistan, Yemen and Pakistan, according to experts and media reports.

While the chance of civilian deaths remains from these attacks, they are working as shown recently:

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani intelligence sources on Thursday identified three of four al Qaeda members believed to have been killed by a U.S. airstrike last week, though they have yet to recover the bodies.

One of the dead was said to be Abdul Rehman Al-Misri al Maghribi, a son-in-law of al Qaeda second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahri.

Another was Midhat Murfi al Sayid Omer, an expert in explosives and poisons who carried a $5 million U.S. reward on his head.

The third man named was Abu Obaidah al Misri, al Qaeda's chief of operations in Afghanistan's eastern Kunar province.

The simple fact is that using pilotless drones means that fewer American pilots are put in harms way. We got some big fish and eventually, the ones who are harboring the terrorists will not be so willing to do so. It sounds like a win-win in my view.
