When Pat Robertson decided to speak for the good Lord, I was in line to be the first to slam him. Now our old buddy Mayor Ray Nagin is speaking for the Almighty:
NEW ORLEANS New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (NAY'-gin) is suggesting that Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and other storms were a sign that "God is mad at America" and at black communities too.
Speaking at a Martin Luther King Day event, Nagin said that King wouldn't have approved of the war in Iraq and that he would be "upset at black America" for not taking care of itself.
He also elaborated that the city is just not "chocolate" enough for him:
NEW ORLEANS -- Mayor Ray Nagin told a crowd gathered at City Hall on Monday for a march honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that New Orleans will be "chocolate" again.
New Orleans proper was more than 60 percent black before Hurricane Katrina displaced about three-quarters of its population, but sparing predominantly white neighborhoods.
Wow, two stupid comments in one day. He should run for the US Senate. By the way, he is no "Chocolate Thunder", there's only one of him and he was from the planet Lovetron.
Update: Kevin Boyd has more.
