Sharon

Ariel Sharon has gone through an incredible media metamorphosis. Military hero in 48, 56, 67 and 73, disgraced government leader (and the most hated man of the far left psychos as can be seen by clicking here) in 1982, resurrected leader and the best hope for mideast peace in decades.

Sharon was so abhorred by the left that a major newspaper in Britain printed the following editorial cartoon continuing the blood libel theme the loonies love to perpetuate:

Mr. Sharon, a key part of the rise of the Likud party, took power and was considered the hardest of the hard liners. The most recent intifada was blamed on him visiting near the Temple Mount (bullshit as we all know, but the media needed a scapegoat and Sharon was convenient for Arafat and the anti-Semites of the world.).

Now, at a time when his death is expected, he's being praised as one who was a great hope for peace with the Palestinians.

My prayers go out to Mr. Sharon and his family. They also go out to all Israeli's as they are about to lose a man who was not only a military and political hero, but a father of their country.

I was waiting to hear who would say the first despicable thing about Sharon's condition. Turns out it came from two likely sources; the demented Pat Robertson (a man of God who may just be turned away at the pearly gates) and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (a man who one can hope is forced to watch more righteous men getting busy with 72 virgins from the other side of the fence before decending to where he belongs).

Other info about Sharon can be found in a surprisingly straight-forward bio on Aljazeerah.com and here.
