Why We Will Never Win The War On Terror

So a Muslim student named Faisal Mohammed went to his school--UC Merced--and started stabbing people. The subsequent investigation found an ISIS flag and numerous other pieces of evidence the guy was radicalized:

Mohammad, a freshman studying computer science at UC Merced, was found to have a printout image of the Islamic State flag alongside a handwritten manifesto with detailed instructions to behead students and multiple reminders to “praise Allah.” Still, investigators have maintained there is no indication that he had any terrorist ties.

Of course there's no connection because this is not an al-Qaeda member sent here to attack, this the new terror. The new terror is radicalizing disaffected Muslims through propaganda and online forums. I guess it's just not that clear to the media and colleges that ISIS posts beheading videos as a recruiting tool.

But that's not the real issue here, the real issue is that UC Merced held a "teach in" to discuss why Mohammed did this crime:

Faculty at the University of California-Merced reportedly held a “teach-in” Monday night to help students better understand the motives of 18-year-old Faisal Mohammad, who earlier this month wounded four people with a hunting knife before being killed by campus police.

And based on reports, I'm guessing the first person to bring up Islam--if anyone did--was booed and shut down immediately. No one wants to believe that "people of color" are capable of this, it has to be something besides religion such as "societal norms", the patriarchy, white privilege or just plain old racism that made this guy snap. It couldn't be watching hours of videos showing ISIS burning pilots, throwing homosexuals off of roofs, killing christians and raping women. no that couldn't be it.

I guess it never occurred to them that the guy really didn't discriminate, he just started slashing. He didn't care whether you were christian, atheist, gay, straight or cis-whatever, you were a target.

I'm beginning to think that the only thing that would make liberals and the media (be I repeat myself) say anything bad about Muslim would be if they attacked abortion clinics.

The Next Phase of the War on Terror

Yesterday we saw another Islam-inspired attack on civilian, non-Muslims in Nairobi, Kenya.

The big, audacious attacks like the embassy bombings and 9/11 are still the dream but are harder to execute. These smaller attacks are easier to plan and supply so now have become the norm. It's easier to take five or six young men, fill their minds with jihadi bullshit, teach them basic guidelines of where to attack for massive effect then set them loose.

As seen in Mumbai where LeT hit several sites throughout the city, this was an attack that had but one goal and that was to terrorize the local population. Al-qaeda and al-Shabbabb know exactly what they are doing: enter a populated area, secure it from escape, instill panic, allow Muslims to leave and then kill as many people as possible in the short time they have until security forces arrive.

These attacks are cheap, effective and will continue unless we change our tactics once again.

So what can be done to stop these types of attacks? A good question and one without easy answers. Short of arming and placing police and other security within every potential attack area, we have to be smarter before the attacks occur.

There were warnings in Mumbai and information will come out that warnings were received in the case of Kenya. These warnings will have to be investigated--and 95% will turn out to be a dead-end--and every one will have to be run down with old fashioned detective work. A colossal feat but cheaper and easier than placing armed security forces in every mall and sports arena in America. We have a large apparatus in the Dept. of Homeland security and FBI who can handle this challenge--if we change how we do business.

The Obama administration is loathe to be accused of racial profiling and thus has essentially been bullied into not investigating cases that could lead to sopping an attack. We need to get past that. There's history to support using profile-like tactics. During WWII, German and Japanese agents and those who supported the cause of their former homelands were rooted out by good detective work. And for the record, I am not even remotely suggesting we inter those of the Muslim faith like that great liberal hero FDR did with the Japanese. What I am saying is that we have to get over our national hang up of questioning those who may be most suspect but belong to a group that is most capable of causing harm. Every time the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issues a letter condemning the profiling of Muslims, we need to hit back and tell them that they need to do more to stop it within their community. Instead, we allow them into the highest places of power and scoff at laws that ban their involvement in government. Every time CAIR accuses us of racial profiling or files a lawsuit, we need to remind the world just who they are involved with.

Until we change our tactics and--within the confines of our legal system--look long and hard at who wants us dead, we will continue to be a ripe target. We've been lucky, and thanks to the diligence of those in law enforcement and the intelligence community we have not been hit in an attack of this type. However, our enemies are changing tactics regularly and probing for weak spots.

We continue down the path we are on at our own peril.

Update: Or we can do what the Israeli's are doing in Kenya. Imagine if a rapid-reaction force of special operators was dispatched to the scene of every one of these attacks (think Rainbow 6) and exterminated the perpetrators then tracked down the planners and liquidated them as well. I would guess these cowardly attacks would be fewer.

Obama: America a Muslim Nation

That's news to me. But in Obamanation, everyday brings news you never thought you'd hear in this once-great land of former opportunity.

First we read that the Israeli Knesset is worried the long US relationship with that country has reached a nadir and now we have this striking statement by BHO:

HAHN, Germany — As President Obama prepared to leave Washington to fly to the Middle East, he conducted several television and radio interviews at the White House to frame the goals for a five-day trip, including the highly-anticipated speech Thursday at Cairo University in Egypt.

In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”...

While our founders decided more than two centuries ago that we, as a nation, have no state religion, we have always been considered a Judeo-Christian culture. Now, less than four months into his term, Obama has relabeled us.

Maybe we can live up to his words and implement sharia law--I vote we start in San Francisco--like they have in Saudi Arabia and parts of Pakistan. You know, lopping off arms for theft, stoning women who have been raped for they committed "adultery" and knocking stone walls onto suspected homosexuals. That sounds like the America I want.

Muslims make up a very small part of our nation and have been welcomed and treated as Americans but we are far from a "Muslim country". That said, while we have embraced them, they consider themselves Muslims first and Americans second and there in lies the rub. Add to that the fact that many are openly at war with America.

As an aside, I know that not all Muslims are terrorists and we shouldn't label them as such but the left in this country is painting all Christians with the same brush as the abortionist-murdering Roeder, which is the same thing.

Well, Obama seems comfortable now being labeled the first Muslim president after chastizing anyone who even muttered anything about his now-proud Muslim roots so maybe he's just expressing a hope.

Will Obama Sell Out the Jews?

The world has gone crazy over the Israeli's protecting themselves and it's only going to spread.

Will Obama sell out the Jews just as he sold out his grandmother, Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and myriad others?

We shall see.

Obama's Show Vs. Substance

Obama is always about show: fake seals, speeches in Berlin, the whole convention thing at Invesco with fake Greek temple facade and now a new one:

WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama’s aides say he is considering making a major foreign policy speech from an Islamic capital during his first 100 days in office.

So where should he do it? The list of Islamic world capitals is long, and includes the obvious —Riyadh, Kuwait City, Islamabad — and the not-so-obvious — Male (the Maldives), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Some wise-guys have even suggested Dearborn, Mich., as a possibility.

I guess the first question one should ask is why, why is he even contemplating this? Forget the security implications but consider what his aim will be. Will he hold to show terrorist elements that he is a friend of Muslims? Is he showing that he won't be the ally of Israel that every President has been since 1948 save Jimmy Carter? What.

It's a show and one that may have dire consequences. By appearing in front of a large Islamic crowd, he'll be intimating that he supports Muslims and by extension Arab views. The one view they all share is that Israel is the enemy and they will take his speech--regardless of what he says--as proof that he's a supporter of them and their position, you can guarantee that. But he'll then go to Tel Aviv and speak and Muslims will feel let down and will be even more apt to dislike the US. US Presidents speak and the world listens, especially in the Arab world where they are taken seriously more than anywhere else.

It's a can't-win situation that will only inflame the region, especially if Israel strikes Iran in the next month or so going after every site that may hold nukes. Imagine if Obama is slated to speak in Cairo on March 15th and Israel hits in January before the inauguration (as predicted by one who has some insight), anything short of the complete condemnation of Israel will never fly, especially since Hamas is just over the border and is an Iranian proxy.

This is a bad idea and one conceived to assuage Obama's ego. This is no longer the campaign with people screaming his name and other inane slogans that reminded one of the post-sanity Pink addressing the crowd. No, this is the real world where Presidents of the US have to be rational and have to think past the stilted mindset of what he is now considering.
