That's news to me. But in Obamanation, everyday brings news you never thought you'd hear in this once-great land of former opportunity.
First we read that the Israeli Knesset is worried the long US relationship with that country has reached a nadir and now we have this striking statement by BHO:
HAHN, Germany — As President Obama prepared to leave Washington to fly to the Middle East, he conducted several television and radio interviews at the White House to frame the goals for a five-day trip, including the highly-anticipated speech Thursday at Cairo University in Egypt.While our founders decided more than two centuries ago that we, as a nation, have no state religion, we have always been considered a Judeo-Christian culture. Now, less than four months into his term, Obama has relabeled us.
In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”...
Maybe we can live up to his words and implement sharia law--I vote we start in San Francisco--like they have in Saudi Arabia and parts of Pakistan. You know, lopping off arms for theft, stoning women who have been raped for they committed "adultery" and knocking stone walls onto suspected homosexuals. That sounds like the America I want.
Muslims make up a very small part of our nation and have been welcomed and treated as Americans but we are far from a "Muslim country". That said, while we have embraced them, they consider themselves Muslims first and Americans second and there in lies the rub. Add to that the fact that many are openly at war with America.
As an aside, I know that not all Muslims are terrorists and we shouldn't label them as such but the left in this country is painting all Christians with the same brush as the abortionist-murdering Roeder, which is the same thing.
Well, Obama seems comfortable now being labeled the first Muslim president after chastizing anyone who even muttered anything about his now-proud Muslim roots so maybe he's just expressing a hope.

Are you insane ? Yes he said "America is the largest Muslim Nation". Didn't you know we are also one of the largest Christian nations too, oh and since we have a large Jewish population we are one of the worlds largest Jewish nations...he was making a point that America is the country where we have freedom of religion and Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddist, Hindus, etc.. can practice their faith here in the good 'ole USA, and we have a large diverse population to prove it.
All of these statements by Obama will provide excellent sound bytes in the next election. Whether it be "we are a Muslim nation," or "I don't want to be in the car business" or after a total collapse of the US economy in 2011, "this is all Bush's fault, I never did anything."
