Okay, I get it bro, you want to be the guy who's strong on immigration and in the wake of an attack, you jump all over this issue. But you really have to get your organization together:
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump wants to bar all Muslims from entering the United States.No dude, you can't do that. They are American and the only people who ban Americans or lock them up for years are Democrats like FDR.
In a statement from his campaign, Trump called for a "total and complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the United States until elected leaders can "figure out what is going on."
When asked by The Hill whether that would include Muslim-American citizens currently abroad, Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks replied over email: "Mr. Trump says, 'everyone'
When The Hill calls you better have you person answering the phone say: "Of course Mr. Trump didn't mean American citizens, he meant non-Americans trying to travel here or immigrate".
But Trump is a CEO and an egomaniacal guy so he didn't even comprehend that he should let his office know what he said and how they should respond to it.
I get it, Trump is a spokespersons worse nightmare but he needs to tighten things up. He's going to be the nominee and he needs to act like it. Hire a political guy and listen to him on issues like these. Trust him to act in your best interest and let him smooth these things out.
