Obama Doubles Down

Obama just doesn't get that Americans really don't think it was that hard of a call to send in the SEAL's after Osama. He spent the weekend spiking the football and now has repeated his rhetoric that Romney wouldn't have pulled the trigger:

Asked about Romney’s comments from earlier this morning belittling how difficult the decision to go after bin Laden may have been, the president said “As far as my personal role and what other folks would do, I’d just recommend that everybody take a look at people’s previous statements in terms of whether they thought it was appropriate to go into Pakistan and take out bin Laden. I assume that people meant what they said when they said it. That’s been at least my practice.”
Okay, I'll play this game. Here's what Romney said:
It’s wrong for a person running for president of the United States to get on TV and say we’re going to go into your country unilaterally. Of course America always maintains our option to do whatever we think is in the best interest of America. But we don’t go out and say “ladies and gentleman of Germany, if ever there was a problem in your country [and] we didn’t think you were doing the right thing, we reserve the right to come in and get them out”.We don’t say those things, we keep our options quiet.
Emphasis in Hot Air link.

This is all bullshit and purely political and Obama knows it but it plays horribly in my opinion. Not one president would have declined to authorize the raid to take out a man who personally ordered and paid for the deaths of nearly 3,000 people. Even Bill Clinton, who wavered and did not pull the trigger prior to 9/11 would have given the go-ahead without a second thought.

When Arianna Huffington says this is a bad idea politically, you know the rest of us who have suffered through this administration really hate what he's doing. "Despicable" is not a word that leaves any wiggle room.
