Note to Pols: Keep It In Your Pants

What is it with politicians and infidelity? I get the fact that they are egotistical, narcissistic liars to begin with as those are the main job requirements but do they have any forethought as to consequences?

The latest is South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford who stoked a rabid press orgy by disappearing for four days. It turns out the guv was visiting his love interest in Argentina:

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford acknowledged Wednesday that he was carrying on an affair with a woman in Argentina when he disappeared from his office last week, only to resurface this morning.

Sanford said he would resign as chairman of the Republican Governors Association and asked for forgiveness from his wife and four sons.

He did not respond when asked if he would resign as governor.

He also did not identify the woman, but asked for privacy. He said that his wife had known about the affair for five months and that he had known the woman for eight years.

He described the affair has having begun innocently enough, via e-mail.
By the time the next presidential election occurs, the only one left will be Sarah Palin and there's no way she's cheating as the press are following her constantly.

One good thing about Sanford's weird presser is that he didn't make his wife stand next to him ala Spitzer and he came clean quickly unlike Clinton. Plus he had at least enough respect for his wife not to knock boots in his own house like Bubba did.

Nice career you had, idiot. You've let down the party, your state, your wife and most importantly your kids. You must be proud.
