Palin's Driving 'Em Insane

Sphere: Related Content

Three weeks ago, the Democrats were riding high. Their candidate chose a well-known, safe Senator to be his Veep and life was good.

Then John McCain pulled what could be the greatest political act seen in decades and dropped Sarah palin on them. First they scoffed, then she spoke to the world and they stopped scoffing. Then they smeared her and that hasn't stopped but has had the exact opposite effect then intended.

Now, she's a vegetable-assassinated woman throwing bolts of lightning:

I rarely remember my dreams, but for the past week, GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin has been haunting me. Night after night, she appears in my dreams, always as a scolding, ominous figure.

When I mentioned my Palin dreams to Slate colleagues, they volunteered their own. One Obama-supporting colleague dreamed she had urged her young son to kill Palin with a string bean. Another dreamed she was at a fashion show and Palin served her crème fraîche on little scooped corn chips. A third says, "In the Sarah Palin dream I keep having, she has superhuman powers but is not really a person at all. In fact, she is more like the weather with glasses and an up-do, pushing clouds around and pitching lightning bolts."
Um, I love the Palin pick but, alas, she's not appeared in my dreams thus far. Plus, a bad dream is also called a nightmare and that about sums up what Palin is to liberals.

Palin has them so riled and scared (along with despondency-inducing poll numbers) that they have become fixated on her--Fatal Attraction-like. Sarah Palin may indeed return home to find her pet rabbit in the soup pot (probably placed there by a NY Times reporter)...my guess is she'll season it and eat it.

Has the political world ever seen a star rise so fast as this? I for one can't recall such an occurrence and it has to be shaking the Obama camp to the very core.

That's great by me.
Update: I'm surehttp://astuteblogger.blogspot.com/2008/09/sarah-palin-documentary-on-fox-news-is.html this will leave a mark:

In a week of records surrounding the Republican National Convention, Fox News CHannel (sic) earned another one with its weekend documentary on vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin."Sarah Palin: American Woman" averaged 2.7 million viewers in its debut at 8 p.m. ET Saturday night, Nielsen Media Research said Tuesday afternoon. That included 673,000 viewers in the adults 25-54 cable news demo.

Nielsen said it was the highest-rated primetime documentary ever in the 12-year history of the channel, surpassing high-rated ones recently about Barack Obama and Palin's running mate, John McCain.
Palinmania, baby! She'll ace the Charlie Gibson interview as well. The Obama campaign tack of hitting Palin daily is backfiring and they are spinning their wheels. Josh Marshall has gone absolutely batshit in his quest to destroy her and it's gotten nowhere. Relax Josh, all that bile will cause ulcers and hate is not good for the heart or soul, dude. My guess is that Marshall wants to be the one to drape the pelt of Sarah Palin over his couch like the Governor did with that grizzly her dad offed.
