San Fran Nan Says Civilization Hangs in the Balance

Whenever we get a group of liberals together and passions are high, you expect to hear some solipsistic and soaring rhetoric but our Speaker Nancy Pelosi takes it to a new low:

"We've got a planet to save. Nothing less is at stake other than civilization as we know it today," the California Democrat and speaker of the House told reporters Saturday afternoon in assessing the election and the nominating convention taking place here over the week.

She said Mr. Obama's new running mate, Sen Joseph R. Biden Jr., was a good choice because he melds Washington know-how with an outsider's view. She pointed to his daily commute by train from his home in Delaware to Washington as evidence he is still a man of the people.

Let's start with the first paragraph; civilization is at stake? Has she looked outside her hotel room or the convention hall and seen the people walking around out there? Here's one:

Civilization is dead judging by this group of brain-dead miscreants, Mrs. Pelosi. The supporters of your party are exulting Muqtada al-Sadr who tortured, killed and than ran away to Iran like a little girl when to US military homed in on him. See the rest of Zombie's pix at LGF. If this is what awaits us under an Obama administration, I'll hope for McCain to win and see a more sane uncivilized world.

As for Biden "melding" Washington know-how and an "outsiders view" simply because he rides the train to and from work, you've got to be kidding. Biden is the ultimate Washington insider whose son made lucrative deals with companies his dad passed legislation to enrich and has been involved in other typical DC shenanigans. Pelosi is off her rocker.

Now granted, these comments are not quite as bad as when Cameron Diaz said "I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. We could lo--if you think that rape should be legal, then don't vote." but Cameron Diaz is a b-list actress whose claim to fame is her "gelled" hair sticking up. Nancy Pelosi is the damn Speaker of the House and third in line to the presidency so her words sound even more moronic and simple minded.
