San Fran Nan Placates ET Kucinich on Impeachment

Please let this go ahead:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said this morning that the House Judiciary Committee may hold hearings on an impeachment resolution offered by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio).

Kucinich is expected to offer a "privileged resolution" this afternoon calling on the House to look at whether President Bush should be removed from office for lying to Congress and the American public when he sought congressional approval back in 2002 for taking military action to invade Iraq and overthrow Saddam Hussein.

Pelosi has said previously that impeachment "was off the table," so her comments this morning were surprising, and clearly signaled a new willingness to entertain the idea of ousting Bush, although no one in the Democratic leadership believes that is likely since the president has only six months left in this term.

"This is a Judiciary Committee matter, and I believe we will see some attention being paid to it by the Judiciary Committee," Pelosi told reporters. "Not necessarily taking up the articles of impeachment because that would have to be approved on the floor, but to have some hearings on the subject."
Impeach away I say, Nancy. Let it go to the floor of the House and let them impeach. Let the Senate convict and all hail President Cheney.

I recommend the trial take place the same week as the Democratic convention so we get to see a knock down drag out in the House and tear gas and batons swinging in Denver at the protesters once they break out of their cages. A fitting end to the summer I would think. Congress has a 9% approval rating--yes, that's 9%. This might get the Dems so excited they bump it up to 13%.

Let's all go over once again the exact crawl to war from the UN presentation by Colin Powell to the Senate vote where Edwards and Hillary voted in the affirmative. Let's break it down once again so that all the Dem lies about a "rush to war" are show to be as bogus as they ever were. The Dems have had a compliant media assist in their memory-washing show so I'd love to see it play out again so the entire country has 9/11 and our responses fresh in their minds when they go to the voting booth.

Bring. It. On.

You nailed it! I'd love to see an attempt at impeachment to remind America exactly how slowly Bush moved and how many Dems with access to intellegence believed the same thing that Bush did. Hear that Clinton(s), Gore, Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi and the rest?
