Media Kicks Bubba Clinton to the Curb

Sphere: Related Content

The long, passionate love affair between Bill Clinton and the media is over and the differences are irreconcilable. It was not a nice breakup but one in which if it were a real situation, the cops would have been called and Bubba would have been arrested and forced to do the perp walk in his stained wife-beater tee shirt just like on Cops.

It started when they pulled the race card in South Carolina and busted wide open yesterday when excerpts of a (largely unsourced) nasty hit piece about to appear in Vanity Fair was released. This isn't Ann Coulter or even current Vanity Fair essayist Christopher Hitchens writing about Bubba, but a former NY Times writer. Bubba didn't take it so well, perhaps a Glenn Close Fatal Attraction moment is in the offing.

What an odd campaign we've seen where the most-toasted political family since the Kennedy's was unceremoniously dumped on their asses by a media that once could find no wrong. They colluded to hide the Lewinsky story, accusations of rape were never investigated and scummy money schemes were brushed under the carpet all to protect them.

Ironic as it is, the "First Black President" was replaced in short order by the real first black presidential candidate.

I can't say as a citizen I'll be sad to see the Clinton's go, but as a blogger, they were pure posting dynamite. Goodbye and good riddance I hope.
