Sunday Afternoon Music--Bro's Birthday Edition

Sphere: Related Content

So my brother from the same mother turns 37 today. Since I'm a cheap bastard, I've decided to mine You Tube for videos that will make him smile, hell, it's cheaper than buying a real present.

First I found The Kinks Dave Davies doing Death of a Clown in Belgium from 2002. Embedding is restricted so hit the link, bro.

Next we have Neil Young doing Don't Let It Bring You Down from 1971. This is a rare one to be sure and it has an irritating hiss at the beginning but is a gem:

Next we have Roger Waters doing a snippet of 5:01 AM The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking live in Toronto. Yes, that's Eric Clapton on guitar. It's got the most important part, bro ("the bitch sad something mystical...hurroh" & "did you understand the music, Yoko, or was it all in vain?"). The embedding is restricted so hit the link.

Next we have Jefferson Airplane doing Miracles before the dreadful switch over to Jefferson Starship and before Grace Slick went insane. This a song we had on an old jukebox in our basement that had horrid Elvis tunes and not much else but we wore the hell out this song. Again, no embed.

Finally, another jukebox classic. This is the b-side to the horrid Beth. Hard Luck Woman from Kiss with Peter Criss singing. Listening to it now, this song really sucks but at the height of the Kiss Army years, this was pure gold, especially to a couple of tweeners stuck inside during the winter with the nly music source the aforementioned juke box. It cuts off at 2:40 but by that point you'll want to stick needles into your eardrums so it's cool:

Happy birthday, brother.

Update: Bonus from the jukebox collection.
