Remember a few years ago when Rupert Murdoch made nice with Hillary:
(CBS) To call them a political odd couple would be a rash understatement. Conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch will host a fundraiser for liberal New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, the Financial Times reports.Well, it seems that little kissy-kissy affair is over as the American flagship of the Murdoch empire--the NY Post--came out today and endorsed Barack Obama:
The mating ritual of the unlikely allies has been under way for months. Clinton set political tongues to wagging last month by attending a Washington party celebrating the 10th anniversary of Fox News, the cable news channel owned by Murdoch.
The Financial Times quoted one unnamed source as describing the Clinton-Murdoch connection in this way: "They have a respectful and cordial relationship.
We urge them to choose Obama - an untried candidate, to be sure, but preferable to the junior senator from New York.It just looks bad when the best-selling paper in America's largest city, which is the "home" of a candidate doesn't even endorse her.
Obama represents a fresh start.
His opponent, and her husband, stand for déjà vu all over again - a return to the opportunistic, scandal-scarred, morally muddled years of the almost infinitely self-indulgent Clinton co-presidency.
Does America really want to go through all that once again? It will - if Sen. Clinton becomes president.
