Plants, Shills and the Debates

Sphere: Related Content

When I posted a debate recap this morning, I neglected to read other blogs first and Memeorandum so I had missed that four, count 'em four, Democrat plants were used by CNN last night.

Now I have no problem with Democrats asking Republicans questions as this moron intimates. No, I have a problem with one guy calling himself a "Log Cabin Republican" and actually being a supporter of Obama. Plain and simply, CNN dropped the ball again; just imagine what the nutroots would say if it were found that four questioners were supportive of Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee and Thompson at a Dem, they'd go apeshit and if they deny it...well, I would expect them to deny it because they're libs and Dems, that's their collective M.O.

Interestingly, the candidates answered the questions and showed that they have conviction in their views. Juxtapose that with Dems, they give no answers, convoluted answers or in the case of Hillary, two opposite answers to the same damn question.

As an aside, I just heard Wolf Blitzer of the aforementioned Clinton News Network preview a story about the candidates not mentioning George W. Bush. You may recall, Al Gore distanced himself far from Clinton during his campaign and the simple truth is that Bush is a lame duck and isn't running for anything. Someone should tell that to the Dems who speak about Bush more than real issues like the War on Terror and Iraq.

Anyway, Debate results are varied from Huckabee and John McCain winning to Frank Luntz calling it for Thompson.

Since I had to drive three hours to the Catskills in New York state, I had time to think about it and hear the snippets again. That said, I still thought Giuliani did well and he did score points at Romney's expense. This on a day that there were questions about questionable funding for trips to the Hamptons. I score it a win for Giuliani, Huckabee and Thompson.
