More Proof Environmentalists Are Insane

We have this story today that shows just how far out the environmental left in the world has become. It comes to us via the Daily Mail:

...Incredibly, so determined was she that the terrible "mistake" of pregnancy should never happen again, that she begged the doctor who performed the abortion to sterilise her at the same time.

He refused, but Toni - who works for an environmental charity - "relentlessly hunted down a doctor who would perform the irreversible surgery.

Finally, eight years ago, Toni got her way.

At the age of 27 this young woman at the height of her reproductive years was sterilised to "protect the planet".

Incredibly, instead of mourning the loss of a family that never was, her boyfriend (now husband) presented her with a congratulations card.

..."Having children is selfish. It's all about maintaining your genetic line at the expense of the planet," says Toni, 35.
I feel safe in saying that most of us a pretty damn happy that your genetic line will not continue, Toni.

It is now not cool in the purview of these people to have children. In their fetid minds, it's a sin in the eyes of the goddess Gaia to reproduce. I guess the good news is that if all of the environmentalist idiots did this, we'd see their collective inanity end in about fifty years and wouldn't have to hear from them anymore.

Couldn't you just imagine when these people congregate around the bong and a cup of ginseng tea that they talk about how great it would be if the entire world were forced to be sterilized or at the very least limit each human woman to one child, much like the policies of China?

These are the extremists of course, yet they are a growing group who believe the planet is more important than the humans who inhabit it. While I'm a vocal advocate of smart environmental regulation and good stewardship, I draw the line at the suggestion that the best course is for sterilizing oneself to attain it. These people actually believe that the world would be a better place if people didn't live on it and it just shows how far they will go further that theory along.
