Syria Confirms Nuke Facility Israeli Target?

Sphere: Related Content

In what has to be the strangest admission to come out of the Arab world since it was confirmed Arafat died of AIDS, Boy Assad's government kind, sorta confirmed that yes, it was a nuke facility the Israeli's hit inside Syrian territory:

Syrian officials have admitted that the site attacked by the Israeli air force last month was a nuclear facility, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, three Israeli diplomats present at a recent United Nations Disarmament Commission meeting overheard the Syrian representative clearly say that Israel's attack targeted a nuclear facility.

The Israeli delegation to the talks, headed by Miriam Ziv, the Foreign Ministry's deputy director general for strategic affairs, accused Syria of smuggling mass amounts of weapons into Lebanon in violation of the UN Security Council's resolution. In response a Syrian representative said Israel was the aggressor and mentioned its attack on a "nuclear facility."
It's all coming out like most suspected, a North Korean shipment was delivered and the Israeli's took it out before the Syrians could stash it away. The fact that the Israeli's enforced a blackout on news (a blackout still in effect) and the fact that the Syrians were mum pointed to it being more than just and abandoned building at an airforce base.

It's odd though that it was an admission "overheard." There's much more to this story that has yet to be revealed.

The J-Post's coverage is here and the Jawa's report about Syria denying it is here.
