Pelosi's Lack of Leadership

The much exulted ascendancy of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was supposed to be a new era in American politics, she broke the "marble ceiling" paving the way for Hillary to become the first woman President. Based on Pelosi's complete lack of leadership, the Dems might just say "thanks but no thanks."

The biggest issue yet for Pelosi to deal with has been the foolish non-binding resolution declaring the Armenia massacres by the ruling Turks starting in 1915 genocide needling a valuable ally in the process. It seems that Speaker Pelosi is having trouble pushing it through:

WASHINGTON (AP) — A House vote to label the century-old deaths of Armenians as genocide was in jeopardy Tuesday after several Democrats withdrew their support and sounded alarms it could cripple U.S. relations with Turkey.

The loss of support is a major setback to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill, who have fiercely defended the resolution to Republicans and the Bush administration as a moral imperative in condemning the World War I-era killings of up to 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks.
Pelosi, as has been her wont, gets fixated on meaningless bills that have no legal bearing on everything. It's amazing to me that this bill became the most talked about bill introduced this Congress and Pelosi has lacked the muscle to push it through. She has shown herself to be a very poor Speaker and will go down as the leader of the ultimate do-nothing Congress if the current trend continues.

I would guess the Bush administration is not too concerned about her cutting funding or bringing up impeachment charges if she can't even muster the support necessary for this garbage resolution.
