More Global Warming Hysteria

The so-called "Doomsday Clock" in Chicago has been moved up 2-minutes closer to midnight because of global warming:

There is a clock at the University of Chicago called the Doomsday Clock whose time perpetually lingers just shy of midnight. On this clock, midnight metaphorically represents full nuclear war bringing an end to all civilization. The symbolic clock, maintained by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists (BAS), currently is set at 5 minutes to midnight, having been advanced by 2 minutes on January 17, 2007.

The clock's hands have been moved 18 times in response to international events since its initial start at 7 minutes to midnight in 1947 during the Cold War. Experts assessing the dangers posed to civilization have added climate change to the prospect of nuclear annihilation as the greatest threats to humankind.

Wikipedia notes that it was moved up not only because of global warming concerns, but also because of concerns with nuclear proliferation. Note also the clock didn't move when we were attacked on 9/11. I guess terrorists killing thousands of Americans was not sufficient to move the hands but a thus far unproven theory is. This organization has been espousing earth's destruction for 61 years now, I guess eventually they'll be right as even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Here's a primer on what the minute hand means.
