The President made two unscheduled visits during his latest overseas trip. First was Afghanistan and he propped up Hamid Karzai at a time where the Afghani campaign has definitely been put on the back burner.
On the tail end of the trip he made an unscheduled stop in Pakistan to praise Musharraf. After visiting India, he had no choice but to stop in and visit the man who expended, and still expends major political capital by allying with the US in the war on terror.
I give Bush credit for going into the belly of the Mohammadness beast full well knowing that it would spark major controversy.
I also give Musharraf credit for allowing Bush to visit in the midst of the Muslim chaos occurring.
We live in some interesting times.
