A Good Story

An Army Staff Sgt. witnessed something he didn't think he would:

GRAD CAM: When Jessica Ady got her high-school diploma Saturday in Akron, Ohio, she didn't know at first that her father was watching. That's because Dad, a k a Army Staff Sgt. Danny Hailey Jr., is stationed in Iraq. Freedom Calls, a nonprofit organization that helps connect families with relatives in the military, arranged a video hookup between the graduation site in Ohio and Taji, Iraq. A report in Sunday's Akron Beacon Journal says that while Miss Ady looked surprised to see her father in Iraq on a monitor, Sgt. Hailey had other emotions. After remotely sharing his daughter's big day, he told the paper: "I'll sleep peacefully tonight for the first time since I've been here."

A nice story for a Friday.
