Happy hump day.
-Pay attention to this. The International Longshoremen's Association is threatening a strike and that will effect every major port from the gulf to Boston. You think things are bad now, you ain't seen nothing like what will occur if ships loaded with every product imaginable aren't unloaded for a few days. The main point of contention is automation and the saving it brings. To give you an idea of the money involved in the shipping industry alone, read this.
-There's always been a means for the rich to pay more if their bleeding hearts wanted. Of course, they never do because it's easy to say that they should pay more but a bit more difficult to actually write the check. The GOP-led House voted to make it easier. I expect Eva Longoria, Warren Buffet and every other weaselly liberal to take full advantage. I won't be holding my breath, however.
-Oh yeah, Obama cares about you and to show you how much, he only looked at this $105,000 masterpiece for ten seconds during his fundraiser with Beyonce and Jay-Z. Vote Obama, because he's one of us and cares. H/T: Ace
-Justice Department Inspector General surprisingly finds that his boss knew nothing about the Fast and Furious operation that resulted in the death of Agent Brian Terry. NBC News buys it and calls it a closed case. If it had been Andrea Mitchell or Chris Matthews brother dead or had the program been started under a Republican, does anybody actually believe that NBC News would cave this easily? Disgusting.
-Too good to check: an Iranian cleric told a woman that she was not properly covered up. She whooped his ass. Maybe there's hope for Iran yet.
-This is pretty creepy: Mindless celebs pledge their allegiance to Obama. I never even pledged my allegiance to Reagan. Hell, I never pledged my allegiance to any president, even when i took my oath to serve the country. Speaking of creepy, check out Obamaton Jim Messina's pic. I'm guessing dude doesn't have much play with the ladies.
