Tuesday Night News & Notes

Still raging bitter about the Giants winning another one. Oh well, pitchers and catchers report in a few weeks.

Anyway, here's what's going on.

-Obama may want to rethink the two fights he's recently picked. First, he is taking on Christians as a whole and Catholics in particular with his ill-advised decision to force Catholic-related entities to provide birth control --including the morning after abortion pill--in their health care plans. Granted, Catholics are only surpassed by Jews with their blind allegiance to the democrat party but this may turn quite a few of them.

The second is his decision to go after Rupert Murdoch on money issues. Mark Twain said "never pick a fight with a man who buys ink by the barrel". The updated version would be never pick a fight with a man who buys ink by the barrel, can command millions of pixels against you and has the top-rated news organization in the world working for him.

-Obama is such a shameless politician that his hypocrisy on the super-PAC issue isn't even remotely surprising.

-When Germany starts questioning the global warming science, you can bet the rest of Europe won't be far behind.

-When a president names an advocate for illegal immigrants, he's not really serious about dealing with the issue.

-The Philadelphia 76'ers are good. Elite no, but good. They beat Chicago, lost to the Heat and then handled the Lakers last night with the Clippers coming in this week. Let's see what they can do.
