Buyers Remorse: Obama Numbers Below Bush's at Same Point

Obama came in with a feeling of hope that was mostly sustained by the compliant media. His win against McCain was substantial but no where near what one would consider enormous or provided a mandate to enact every single policy he had. Think Reagan in 1980 and you'll see a mandate.

His ambitious agenda was championed by the media and every miscue was glossed over but in the age of You Tube, blogs and Fox News, people heard about and saw them. From his seemingly intentional snub of PM Gordon Browm to the Hillary embarrassment with the Russia FM, it has been amateur hour on Pennsylvania Ave. Add to that the fact that his stimulus plan including everything but a stimulus and the realization that we'd end every week with an extra $13 thanks to a "tax cut" that wasn't and the reality of what we've done is starting to set in.

Here's the latest:

It is simply wrong for commentators to continue to focus on President Barack Obama's high levels of popularity, and to conclude that these are indicative of high levels of public confidence in the work of his administration. Indeed, a detailed look at recent survey data shows that the opposite is most likely true. The American people are coming to express increasingly significant doubts about his initiatives, and most likely support a different agenda and different policies from those that the Obama administration has advanced.

Polling data show that Mr. Obama's approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001. Rasmussen Reports data shows that Mr. Obama's net presidential approval rating -- which is calculated by subtracting the number who strongly disapprove from the number who strongly approve -- is just six, his lowest rating to date.
Think of what Bush's rating would have been if he hadn't had to suffer through the recount debacle and an endless media barrage snipping at every misspoken word and nominee presented.

These numbers are important and show that people who expected The One have been saddled with just another one; another lying, finger in the air politico in a town full of them.
