The Most Ethical Administration Ever...Or Not

Hope and Change has arrived. By now I would suppose Obama's only hope is that another cabinet nominee isn't a tax cheat and he doesn't have to change anymore selections.

Today, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle was the latest to get tossed under the bus one day after Obama said he wouldn't do so:

Former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle on Tuesday withdrew his nomination to oversee the Health and Human Services Department, citing controversies over his taxes and his ties to the health care industry — and telling NBC News that a New York Times editorial also played a role.

His withdrawal came just a few hours after another Obama nominee, Nancy Killefer, said she was withdrawing her nomination. Both had controversies with taxes and cited distractions over that as reasons for withdrawing.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters the two realized "that you can't set an example of responsibility but accept a different standard of who serves."

Is there any Democrats who aren't cheating the system?

This is by far the most embarrassing selection and appointment process in history with nominee upon nominee being shown as a scam artist or shady character. Richardson, Geithner, Daschle, Killefer, Holder...it goes on and on. I'm embarrassed for the administration..well, in between furious bout of roaring laughter. How does this look to the rest of the world. Under Bush they just hated and feared us, now they still hate us, don't fear us and think of us as a laughingstock with a new regime full of crooks and incompetents. Change you can believe in! Yes we can!

As an aside and I've mentioned this previously, is Robert Gibbs the single worst presidential spokesman in living history? This guy can't formulate a clear thought let alone a coherent sentence and every time he defends something, he seems like he's covering up something else.

So how are our fearless GOP senators handling this gaping hole given them to exploit? Like a bunch of pussies just like we expected. Come on guys, your in the minority and have a president who walked on water starting to crater daily. Instead, you're scared? Spare me.
