I wrote last week about the death of Dr. Maj. John Pryor in Iraq. Please read the post to see what the man was all about. He was a family man, head of the trauma unit at the University of Penn and after 9/11 he joined the military to help our wounded soldiers. He was on his second tour of Iraq and was mortally wounded. The man had it all and decided that his place was on the front lines. America tends to breed such men of valor.
I've been writing this blog for nearly six years and the two largest responses I've had via search engine hits were when my cousin Ray died--also a military doctor--and the post I did on Dr. Pryor. Read the comments on the Dr. Pryor post to get an idea what this man meant to those who knew him or click here for remembrances and tributes at a website set up for him.. What these men stood for and what they accomplished can not be explained very well by someone like me with horrid writing skills. I don't do them justice.
That said, Dr. Pryor's family is not only in mourning but in need. A fund for his wife and children has been set up and you can contribute here:
UPHS - Dr. John Pryor FundPlease find it in your heart to donate whatever you can for this hero's family. He embodied all that is good about America and sacrificed it all for our freedom.
