WaPo Just Making Things Up Now

Sphere: Related Content

The Washington Post finds one obscure posting on an Islamist website and concludes that the Jihadi's are supporting McCain:

Al-Qaeda is watching the U.S. stock market's downward slide with something akin to jubilation, with its leaders hailing the financial crisis as a vindication of its strategy of crippling America's economy through endless, costly foreign wars against Islamist insurgents.

And at least some of its supporters think Sen. John McCain is the presidential candidate best suited to continue that trend.

"Al-Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming election," said a commentary posted Monday on the extremist Web site al-Hesbah, which is closely linked to the terrorist group. It said the Arizona Republican would continue the "failing march of his predecessor," President Bush.
While everyone else in the world--al-Qaeda especially--seems to be pulling for Obama because they know The One will curtail our successful efforts against terrorism, the WaPo has to shill for their man and intimate that it is in fact McCain they want.

It's funny, really, that Obama's own running mate even thinks that al-Qaeda or some other terror group will test him within the first six-months of his assuming the Oval Office. Yet, the Post has to protect Obama and print this garbage based on nothing more than a single post among millions. I even like the way they worm in that they're not quite sure if it reflects bin-Laden's views.

I think I once read a comment on Daily Kos that said that the Post is not biased to the left so it must be true, right?

Update: Just as I thought.

I just wanted to let you know that I read your blog (I'll be sure to comment on it more just to prove kelly jo here wrong).

And kelly jo? If you want to make an argument...maybe you should actually make one. Saying shit like 'everyone knows this so you must be stupid' or making insinuations that someone must like killing people isn't the way to argue or make your point. If you have a genuine disagreement with someone's point of view calling them stupid isn't the best way to voice your opinion. It will only make the other side think you don't have any valid argument. Now, what exactly makes Obama qualified and makes you think he could 'bring boderline (borderline?) peace to the world'? Because guess what, kelly jo, we dont "all know this", YOU may believe that is true...but clearly not everyone does. I know I sure don't.

And this blog is not garbage. The fact that the media isn't addressing anything (at least not to the extent that they've done with McCain and Palin) and trying to skew public opinion with slanted or just plain false stories is important. We will not just 'move on' when clearly there are things that need to be addressed about Obama and his relationships with Ayers, Acorn, Rev. Wright and others that the media won't even touch on (but they have no problem looking in to the records of Joe the Plumber oddly enough). They need to report these things because they are relevant because it shows the type of people he associates with. And if you say that he didn't know about what Wright was saying, or what Acorn is doing now...then that just brings up more questions on his inability to see what is right in front of him.

The media needs to go back to reporting the news, not making it up or omitting facts.

See, that's how you make an argument.

Mary how will McCain make this country better?

Maybe people do read this blog...but no one does comment wish they would.

Yeah, when Obama wins the seas will stop rising and al-Qaeda will love us, right? Maybe someone ought to tell Biden.

Wake up, Obama will leave us open to acts of terror never thought of and it will happen soon.

You are delusional if you really think that wars will end because Obama is in office, Kelly Jo. He's essentially Jimmy Carter and we all remember how calm the world was then.

To Anon: Well, if you want the honest truth... I don't think McCain will make this country 'better'. I just think he will screw it up a little less than Obama plans to.

The thing I take the most issue with from Obama is the idea that people have to be constantly helped and guided to find their own two feet when they are more than capable of finding them on their own. Life isn't meant to be easy and struggle isn't an inherently bad thing. It makes us appreciate success when we finally get there.

As far as McCain goes... I don't agree with everything he believes in because in reality, my views are all across the board on the political spectrum (which is probably because I do occasionally like to think for myself once in a while and not be told what to think). For example: I don't have a problem with gay marriage, I'm pro-choice... but at the same time I'm against Affirmative Action, Universal Healthcare and I think offshore drilling is a viable temporary option to supplement our oil supply until we do find a successful alternate fuel. I guess what it comes down to is I don't think McCain is a liar and whenever I listen to Obama all I can think is that he is lying through his teeth.
