Bulldozing Double Standards

Sphere: Related Content

Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli bulldozer she chose to stand in front of. Some would say her death was tragic. Others might suspect the International Solidarity Movement had brainwashed her, and directly contributed to her death.

Fellow ISM activist Joseph Smith who was present at the time of Rachel's death, rather than act to save her life, was busy shooting photos of her being crushed by the bulldozer.
One thing is certain. Although not martyred for the Palestinian/Jewkilling cause in the more traditional high-explosive manner, she has been made a martyr by the Left, who blame Israel for killing her, and ignore the fact she chose to stand...in front of a moving bulldozer.

Yesterday, in Jerusalem, a Palestinian from East Jerusalem deliberately plowed a bulldozer he was driving into a passenger bus on Jaffa Street in the capital shortly after noon Wednesday, killing three people and wounding dozens more.

No doubt using a bulldozer to murder Jews was considered in the spirit of the "cease fire" Hamas were supposed to be adhering to.

One of those killed in the attack was driving her car at the scene of the attack, and was crushed by the oncoming bulldozer.

The wounded included two babies whose parents could not be located.

The mother of one of the babies hurled the child out of the car window before being struck and wounded by the bulldozer. The mother of the other baby was killed in the rampage.

Can we expect more protests against bulldozers from those who cried crocodile tears for Rachel Corrie? Another boycott of bulldozer manufacturers perhaps? Of course not, any more than we heard the slightest peep of complaints about the Taliban using bulldozers to push walls on top of homosexuals, killing them.

On the other hand, now that the Israeli Government has determined that it should use its own bulldozers to demolish the terrorist's home:
Likud MK Yuval Steinitz on Friday said that the Sur Bahir house of the terrorist who perpetrated the bulldozer attack in Jerusalem on Wednesday must be demolished as soon as possible.

"We must create a situation where terror is not rewarded," he told Army Radio. "There is a price to pay and it is steep."
I have no doubt the Left will be complaining as loudly as usual about bulldozers. It all depends who's driving them.
