Oliver Stone's Crazy Idea of Fair

Oliver Stone--last seen hanging and having a good time with dictator Fidel Castro--is making a film of President George W. Bush's rise to the presidency. Stone was noted as saying that it will be ''a fair, true portrait of the man.''

What is Stone's idea of fair and true? This is:

''W is the improbable story of a man who went to the White House despite getting fewer votes than his opponent; who became commander-in-chief despite having avoided military combat himself; and who became the least popular president ever elected to a second term. W will shock and surprise you and leave you questioning everything you believe to be true.''

Clinton served as commander-in-chief and he ran away from the country so he didn't have to serve. Bill Clinton abhors the military. Furthermore, neither Obama or Hillary have military experience (unless you count dodging make-believe snipers in Tuszla but I digress) so by Stone's thinking they are not capable of running the military. As for the least popular president crack, Bush won a majority (50.7% in 2004), Clinton didn't do that either of the two times he ran (43% in 1992 & 49.2% in '96) so Stone is full of it on that count. As for Bush winning in 2000 with less votes, he won by the rules but that is plainly Ollie tapping into that still-simmering hatred libs have for losing that particular election.

It seems like the only thing most people will be questioning is how it was possible Stone made a movie with more lies and distorted facts than JFK. That's surpassing the impossible to say the least.

Here's a unique insight into Stone's thinking from a couple of months ago where he talks lovingly of Castro and Obama. That says more than anything about the man's views and aims with this movie.
