NJ Becomes Second State to Piss on Constitution

Gov. Corzine has been living the liberal dream in the last few weeks. First he signed a bill eliminating the death penalty, then he raised tolls (a hidden tax increase) on the three most-traveled NJ roads and finally he gets to piss on the Constitution of the US:

TRENTON, N.J. - New Jersey on Sunday became the second state to enter a compact that would eliminate the Electoral College's power to choose a president if enough states endorse the idea.

Gov. Jon S. Corzine signed legislation that approves delivering the state's 15 electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. The Assembly approved the bill last month and the Senate followed suit earlier this month.

Maryland — with 10 electoral votes — had been the only state to pass the compact into law.

The measure could result in the electoral votes going to a candidate opposed by voters in New Jersey, which has backed Democratic presidential candidates since 1988.
Liberals abhor the electoral college and have been pushing to get rid of it since Al Gore was beaten in 2000. This time they think they have enough backing to get it done but the Supreme Court will have their say before it's over.

Corzine has proven to be much more of a liberal tax and spender than even I feared and we're going to see his policies get more and more extreme every time he gets away with something like this.

Hey, Corzine smarter than all those fuddy-duddy Constitution framers, right?

Of course the first time this will actually come into play will be to give NJ Electoral votes to a Republican.

Imagine the outrate.

It is a perfect example of the blindness of the Left. Oh, Gore would be President if the election was based on popular vote, so we have to change that, without any thought that the situation could be reversed.

While they are at it, why don't they start working to kill off the US Senate as well.

The other day I was reading my sister-in-laws Asbury Park Press and every article led with Gov. Corzine said this will be voted into law in NJ. For the life of me I can't comprehend how he got into office. I know that many Seniors reside in NJ and they are quite gullible(look at the scams pulled on them by phone and mail). I have lived in NJ all my life and my wife and I are looking too move out ove state
